1Torch, SL60 and SL100 torches
1Torch works with high-frequency, touch, CD and blowback start systems. The mechanized SL100 covers 20–120 A. The SL100 SV cuts up to 32 mm with air: 100 A at 100% duty cycle and 120 A at 80%, with leads up to 30.5 m. Connections are ATC or O2B.
1Torch consumables
ESAB lists Standard and Black Series electrodes, start cartridges, shield caps and cups, 40 and 60 A cutting tips, A–E gouging tips up to 120 A, O-rings and 60, 80 and 100 A spare parts kits. The Black Series electrode lasts up to 60% longer.
MechPak and Cutmaster accessories
The MechPak kit for semi-automatic cutting contains an SL100 mechanized torch, a pendant and a lead with an ATC connector, in 7.6 or 15.2 m lengths. For the Cutmaster ESAB lists a cart, straight-line and circle cutting guides, air filter kits and a CNC remote cable.
iSeries mechanized plasma
Power sources for CNC machines up to 800 A. ESAB states ISO 3 cut quality or better and thickness up to 160 mm. The iSeries 2400i delivers 400 A, pierces up to 50 mm and edge-starts at 90–100 mm. WMS suits stainless steel and aluminium, HeavyCut thick mild steel, StepUp adds modular power.
Swift-Cut Pro and Swift-Cut XP
Compact CNC plasma machines. The Pro cuts up to 25 mm on 1250×1250, 1250×2500, 1500×3000 and 2000×4000 mm areas; the XP cuts up to 35 mm on 1500×3000 and 2000×4000 mm. CAD, CAM and CNC software is pre-installed. The XP uses the Precision 130 HD or M2 200i source.
Combirex PRO gantry
A gantry for plasma and oxy-fuel cutting with 2500–4500 mm rail gauge and speeds up to 35,560 mm/min. Up to four stations: air plasma up to 120 A or iSeries 130–600 A, up to four CoolJet PRO or SmartJet gas torches, DMX bevelling.
The ESAB catalogue lists cut length up to 18 m and thickness up to 50 mm.
Suprarex PRO and Telerex TXB
Heavy gantries for large plate. Suprarex PRO: 2500–10,000 mm width, up to 90 m cut length, up to four iSeries plasma stations, 12 oxy-fuel torches and two DMX bevellers. Plasma cuts mild steel to 75 mm and stainless steel and aluminium to 160 mm; oxy-fuel 200 mm (300 mm optional).
Telerex TXB: 30×30 m, up to 50 mm.
AutoRex enclosed cutting system
A fully enclosed thermal cutting system that works with any machine model. The cabin blocks radiation, reduces plasma noise and captures all smoke. A shuttle table shortens plate changes and self-cleaning downdraft tables remove slag. ESAB can integrate it with plate storage and ERP systems.
CoolJet PRO and SmartJet gas torches
Automated oxy-fuel torches for CNC machines: cutting up to 300 mm, piercing up to 150 mm. CoolJet PRO runs on natural gas, propane and propylene; SmartJet also on acetylene and reports over-temperature, collision and backfire to the Vision controller.
Bevelling: DMX and IR-VBA
DMX is a plasma bevel system with compound motion and automatic reset after a collision. SmartBevel covers V, X, Y and K bevels on 6–50 mm mild steel. IR-VBA is an oxy-fuel bevel unit with infinite rotation and variable angle, used in tanks, bridges, wind towers and ships.
Vision T6 controller and software
A 21.5-inch multi-touch Windows panel with a built-in process database, RFID log-in and an 88-shape part generator. It controls plasma, oxy-fuel, DMX bevelling, drilling and marking, connects to Columbus CAD/CAM and CutCloud, and suits new machines and retrofits.
Selection inputs
Metal and thickness, cutting process (plasma, oxy-fuel, bevelling), plate size, power supply and phases, gases, fume extraction and software.
Parts for installed equipment
Unit or machine model, current, SL60 or SL100 torch, part number, quantity and use: cutting, gouging or mechanized cutting.
Choosing handheld plasma
Start with the greatest thickness and the type of power supply. The Cutmaster 30+ is rated for 12 mm, the 50+ for 25 mm and the 70+ for 30 mm; the 120 A Cutmaster 152 has a 30 mm recommended cut and 50 mm edge severance. Input may be single-phase, three-phase or multi-voltage.
If the unit will work with a gantry or a tractor, check the CPC receptacle and the MechPak kit, which contains an SL100 mechanized torch, a pendant and a lead with an ATC connector.
When a CNC machine is needed
For series production from drawings, choose a CNC machine. Swift-Cut Pro and XP cover plate up to 25 and 35 mm, Combirex PRO is a plasma and oxy-fuel gantry with rail gauge up to 4500 mm, and Suprarex PRO is a heavy gantry up to 10,000 mm wide.
For large parts and thick metal add DMX or IR-VBA bevelling, oxy-fuel stations, marking and drilling. The station set determines the power source, torches and controller.
Plate format and machine stations
Swift-Cut Pro and XP cover plate up to 1500×3000 mm, and the 2000×4000 mm format is offered on the Pro 4000 and XP 4000. Combirex PRO is built for 2500–4500 mm rail gauge and Suprarex PRO for 2500–10,000 mm width and up to 90 m cut length.
The station count defines capability: Combirex PRO takes up to four, Suprarex PRO up to four plasma, twelve oxy-fuel, two DMX bevel units and a drilling station. Marking is done by plasma, air scribe, ink jet, pin stamp or punch heads.
Power, air and fume extraction
Compare weight too: from 11.5 kg for the Cutmaster 30+ to 28.1 kg for the 102 and 152, and check the −10 to +50 °C operating range for field work.
For the Cutmaster 30+, 50+ and 70+, ESAB specifies clean, dry, oil-free air to ISO 8573-1 Class 1.2.2 at 6.2–8.6 bar and 142–235 l/min; the housing is IP23S. On a generator, ESAB recommends 15 kW for the full output of the Cutmaster 60i.
For the iSeries the specification lists air, oxygen, argon-hydrogen and nitrogen at 8.3 bar, and water up to 0.6 l/min for WMS technology. For CNC machines settle fume extraction early: Swift-Cut offers a zoned downdraft table or a water table, and AutoRex encloses the process in a cabin.
What to attach to a request
For installed equipment: photos of the rating plate, torch and consumables, the current and the material. For new equipment: metal, thickness, plate size, parts per shift and any bevel requirement.
Consumables and service
Every torch needs consumables of its own type. State the power source, current, torch type and metal, and for iSeries the gas and the SpeedLok cartridge. Compare the markings on the rating plate and on the torch before ordering.
Send your equipment details
State the metal, thickness, plate size, power supply and the model of installed equipment. Limits: availability, prices, lead times, dealer status and compatibility are not stated in advance; the scope of supply is agreed per request.
ESAB welding equipment and Victor gas equipment are handled separately.
