Cell identification and factory marking standards
Accurate specification of CATL prismatic cells requires a clear photograph of the top cover QR Data Matrix code and alphanumeric laser engraving encoding production line, chemistry, and serial number.
Specify terminal execution: laser-weldable aluminum pads or threaded studs (M6/M8). For complete packs, provide the master rating plate with part number (P/N), nominal voltage, and CTP generation.
Integration levels: cells, modules, and CTP packs
CATL components support distinct integration tiers. Discrete prismatic cells serve targeted cell replacements in existing installations, custom energy storage projects, and telecom backup battery maintenance.
Standardized modules include factory busbars, compressive side plates, NTC sensors, and CSC telemetry boards, while complete CTP 3.0 and MTV packs arrive as sealed units with integrated liquid cooling plates and BDU.
Thermal management and liquid cooling systems
Operational life and safety of CATL batteries rely on strict thermal regulation. For EnerOne and TENER installations, dedicated liquid chillers circulate water-glycol coolant to constrain cell temperature deltas within 3°C.
When servicing liquid-cooled packs, inspect chilling plate integrity, verify thermal interface coverage, and conduct pressure leak tests. For air-cooled units, maintain duct clearances and fan filter cleanliness.
BMS architecture, telemetry, and safety isolation
CATL battery management employs a deterministic three-tier architecture: module CSC monitoring boards, pack master BMU controllers, and high-voltage battery disconnect units (BDU) tracking millivolt cell voltages.
Telemetry communication with power conversion systems (PCS) utilizes CAN 2.0B or CAN FD buses (250/500 kbps). The high-voltage BDU integrates DC contactors, pre-charge circuitry, and high-speed pyrofuses.
Safe handling, shipping, and warehouse storage
Lithium iron phosphate and ternary cells from CATL are regulated as Class 9 Dangerous Goods (UN 3480). Transport is conducted in UN-certified packaging with state-of-charge limited to 30% SOC under ADR and IATA rules.
Store inventory in climate-controlled dry facilities between 0°C and +30°C with relative humidity below 75%. For storage exceeding six months, conduct open-circuit voltage (OCV) tests and recharge to 30–50% SOC.
Availability, production lead times, and engineering documentation are confirmed per individual RFQ. We strictly exclude unverified secondary market or refurbished cells. Inverter communication protocols must be confirmed against BMS specifications.
