Gudel
Gudel linear systems
Discuss Güdel linear modules, gantries and robot tracks for your payload, working stroke and cell layout. Identify replacement assemblies by the installed system marking.
EP and ZP linear modules
EP provides one-axis travel; ZP combines horizontal and vertical motion. Specify the working stroke, load and mounting arrangement when selecting a module for a handling or machine-loading cell.
- EP uses a rack-and-pinion drive.
- ZP provides two-axis handling.
- Identify the axis size and installed drive.
CP and FP gantry systems
CP uses a three-axis cantilever layout with access to workpieces from above. FP covers large working areas. Define the process envelope, support arrangement and end-effector load before choosing a gantry configuration.
- CP leaves one side free of support legs.
- FP provides three-axis movement.
- Define carriage position and interfaces.
TMF and TMP robot tracks
TMF moves an industrial robot along a floor-mounted track. TMP is designed for robotic machining. Describe the robot, tooling, process forces and required movement so the track can be considered as part of the cell.
- TMF has a closed welded beam structure.
- TMP uses a dual-motor drive.
- TMP stroke is 1.5–48.5 m according to the manufacturer.
Guideways and guide rollers
Güdel guideway systems combine rollers, guideways and drivetrain components. Heavy-duty and medium-duty systems use different arrangements. Consider loads and mounting interfaces together when selecting a system.
- Heavy Duty supports contain three roller bearings.
- Medium Duty uses V-shaped guideways.
- Check guide profiles and mounting dimensions.
Racks and pinions
The manufacturer groups its racks into High-End, Performance and Basic lines. Select the rack and pinion as a matched drive arrangement, using the tooth geometry, mounting drawing and required travel.
- Lines include High-End, Performance and Basic.
- Consider the rack and pinion together.
- State length and mounting-hole arrangement.
HPG and NRH gearboxes
HPG covers angular drives; NRH, NRHP and NGHP belong to the planetary gearbox offering. Define the ratio, motor interface, output arrangement and load cycle when discussing a drive package.
- HPG sizes are 030, 045, 060, 090 and 120.
- HPG ratios range from 2 to 60.
- NRH uses optimized helical gearing.
Define the linear-system configuration
Start with the operation the system must perform. Machine loading, movement between stations and handling across a large work area call for different layouts. State the directions of travel, useful stroke of each axis and the surrounding equipment positions.
Mark operator access, support locations and height restrictions on a layout drawing. This makes it possible to discuss the module as part of a production cell.
Separate workpiece mass, gripper mass and other moving equipment in the enquiry. Describe the duty cycle, centre-of-gravity position and process operation. For an existing Güdel installation, include the system model and assembly drawing.
For a new project, provide the proposed layout and control-interface requirements. The configuration should be agreed against those inputs rather than selected from a family name alone.
Specify the robot track within the cell
TMF is a floor-mounted track for moving an industrial robot. Include the robot model, tool configuration and required working positions. The layout should show the entire cell, including the gripper, cable routing and adjacent equipment.
Identify process positions separately from free travel so that the required machining or handling area is distinguished from the overall installation length.
TMP is designed for robotic machining and uses a dual-motor drive. The manufacturer lists a stroke range of 1.5–48.5 m. This family-level range must be related to the selected arrangement. Describe the process, load directions and positioning requirements.
State separately whether the enquiry covers the mechanical axis, drive package, measuring system or their agreed combination.
Match the drive and guideway interfaces
Consider the rack, pinion, gearbox and guideway as related elements of the motion system. Provide tooth geometry, travel requirements, mounting drawings and load conditions. HPG sizes listed by the manufacturer are 030, 045, 060, 090 and 120, with ratios from 2 to 60.
Preserve the complete gearbox designation, motor-side connection and output arrangement when requesting a calculation.
Heavy-duty guideways use supports with three integrated roller bearings; medium-duty systems use rollers and V-shaped guideways. Relate that choice to the load and mechanical layout. Distinguish NRH, NRHP and NGHP when specifying a planetary gearbox.
For an upgrade of an existing drive, attach information about the motor and other mechanical components that will remain in the installation.
Agree the equipment and integration scope
SpareX considers enquiries for linear modules, gantry systems and OEM assemblies configured around the customer’s process. Divide the scope into mechanics, drives, controls, tooling and integration work. Identify which items already exist at the plant and which need to be included in the quotation.
This helps purchasing and engineering teams compare proposals against the same equipment boundary.
For installation on an operating line, provide available interface documentation and space constraints. Identify responsibility for support design, installation, electrical connection and programming.
For a complete cell, describe the link to neighbouring operations and the checks expected at acceptance. Agree those responsibilities together with the documentation package before fixing the order scope.
Identify assemblies for an existing installation
An enquiry can cover a guide roller, guideway, rack-and-pinion pair or gearbox for an existing gantry. Include the system nameplate and the component marking. Separate items for the immediate repair from components for planned maintenance.
If a code is only partly legible, retain the visible characters and mark the component on an assembly drawing.
Do not reduce the identification to a family name. Carriage configuration and installation position matter, as do the input and output interfaces of a gearbox. State quantity and the required assembly boundary.
Photographs and dimensions support identification; the final item should be agreed against the installation documents. Describe diagnosis or repair questions separately so they can be assessed alongside the component request.
Prepare a technical and export enquiry
Send the model or process description, axis strokes, load information and proposed equipment scope. Attach a sketch, drawing or item list and a contact for technical questions. If the project includes several systems, identify them separately and keep each component linked to its installation.
A consistent item list makes the quotation easier to check against the engineering requirement.
For export shipment, state the destination country and delivery address, packing constraints and required documents. The quotation records the agreed equipment boundary, payment arrangements and cargo-handover conditions.
Before confirming an order, the technical team should check designations, connections and included assemblies. The enquiry can begin with equipment and then address the parts needed to support it.
