Drilling and completions equipment scope

Baker Hughes provides drilling and completion technologies spanning tools, motors, steerable systems, measurements and downhole completion equipment. A procurement enquiry should identify the particular product and required contents rather than naming an entire operational stage.

Retain the installed or project arrangement that establishes the product’s place within the equipment scope.

The manufacturer’s portfolio combines hardware with services, digital solutions and engineering activities. Separate material products and replacement components from software functions or field work.

A named service does not by itself define the availability, configuration or contents of an independently supplied tool; state the actual hardware requirement explicitly.

Identification and project records

Attach a clear marking photograph and the product document showing its full designation. For an individual part, retain the original reference, assembly document and marked drawing item. Keep the serial number where present in its own field.

A project name or internal stock code provides additional context without replacing documented product identification.

Do not shorten suffixes or letter groups. Components within one assembly should keep separate references and quantities even when the site calls them a single set.

For a documented kit, state its contents and number of kits alongside the quantities of individual items, maintaining their association with the parent product.

After configuration changes, use current documents and identify the replaced items. Older lists may accompany the enquiry for comparison with their dates and revisions.

If a reference has an uncertain source, mark that explicitly and include available drawings or photographs rather than transferring data from a similar tool.

Bits, motors and bottomhole tools

For a drill bit, retain the exact project designation and quantity, distinguishing a repeat of an earlier item from a new selection requirement. The PDC, tricone or Kymera family identifies a product direction.

A shaped-cutter technology name should be supplemented by the documented product reference and applicable project records.

For a drilling motor, identify a complete tool, independent assembly or individual drawing item. Provide its full type and serial number where available, plus the bottomhole arrangement showing its location.

Keep the motor’s own documents distinct from the general assembly drawing and list any retained connections or associated components.

For rotary steerable systems, TRU-Steer or hole-enlargement equipment, identify the particular hardware and original reference. Keep the project task, interface limitations and earlier equipment records separate.

Required services or engineering support should be stated independently so that they are not assumed to accompany the material equipment enquiry.

LWD, MWD and instrument components

Identify the actual instrument or component rather than using LWD or MWD as the sole product description. Attach its complete marking, original reference and relevant records.

For a replacement item, preserve the associated device’s assembly drawing or parts list, with the requested position and required quantity marked clearly.

List cables, connectors and independent modules separately when they belong to the requested scope. For repeat procurement, compare the earlier list with the actual equipment configuration, particularly after modifications.

A general system document establishes context, while an independently identified component may need its own marking and detailed product records.

Formation evaluation, imaging and navigation functions should be described separately from the physical equipment list. A new enquiry needs the project requirement and retained interfaces.

Software, licensing and measurement work cannot be inferred solely from an instrument name; include them as distinct requirements when they are part of the task.

Liner hangers, packers and flow control

A liner hanger or liner top packer request needs the complete product designation and project arrangement. HOOK Hanger and HydraSplit are named multilateral systems; retain their specific product documents.

Define a complete assembly, individual component or set explicitly, preserving original references and the composition required by the project list.

Permanent, retrievable and feedthrough packers address different requirements. Premier and MPas are published product names within the portfolio. Use the full marking and applicable construction documents.

A packer component should retain its drawing position and original reference; documented material or configuration details should preserve the source designation without extrapolation.

For subsurface flow-control and safety equipment, distinguish the regulating element, protective device and separate control component. SureCONTROL belongs to intelligent completions. Retain the product’s original documentation and its association with the system arrangement.

Inspection, configuration and operating procedures remain part of the site’s established equipment-management process.

Screens, sleeves and downhole instruments

For sand screens and other material sand-control products, provide the project type, original reference, documents and quantity. Distinguish equipment from the service activity in which it may be used.

For a multistage arrangement, identify the particular sleeve or item and preserve its association with the relevant project list.

InFORCE sliding sleeves, frac sleeve systems and plug-and-perf completions belong to the published completion portfolio. A component enquiry still requires its complete product number and assembly records.

Preserve individual quantities for a multi-item arrangement rather than replacing a detailed list with one undefined system or maintenance-set description.

SureSENS, SureFLO, SureTREAT and SureCONNECT serve different monitoring, flow-measurement, injection and connection tasks. Keep the full device designation and required contents.

Include cables, connectors and independent auxiliary elements as separate lines when required, retaining the complete-system name as context instead of a substitute for each item reference.

Supply list, documents and receiving

Use a procurement table with the project or installation, product type, original reference, serial number where present, quantity and attachment name. Kits also need their contents and set count.

Distinguish mandatory items from additional spare holdings and keep amended rows visible when the procurement scope changes.

State the relevant documentation and completeness requirements before ordering. On receipt, compare markings, quantities and contents with the agreed list and retain the documents with the corresponding products.
