Specify a Baker Hughes centrifugal pump from the liquid and operating cases. Identify installed-machine components from the nameplate and assembly documents.
Pump families and arrangements
Identify the family and task: a new pump, complete replacement or maintenance components. Preserve the full installed designation.
Overhung TC, VP and DSVP pumps
The overhung portfolio includes TC, VP and DSVP pumps in horizontal and vertical arrangements with radially split construction. Identify the project duty and installation arrangement for equipment selection.
For a replacement component, retain the full pump type, serial number and item reference from the applicable assembly drawing. Separate the pump from independently identified package components.
Vertical pumps
Vertical families include VD, VDA, VSA, VCD, DSVCD, VMS, VCMS and VTC. Their casing, discharge and hydraulic arrangements differ. Supply the complete installed designation and arrangement drawing when requesting components.
For a new unit, include the installation geometry and process requirements, keeping column and discharge details associated with the particular project or installed configuration.
BB1 DVS, DVE and BFD
The published BB1 portfolio comprises one- and two-stage between-bearings pumps, including DVS, DVE and BFD. Preserve the complete configuration and serial number in an enquiry.
A component request should retain its original reference and drawing position; a complete-equipment request should define the operating cases, package boundaries and retained interfaces of the installation.
BB2 DVSHF, THF and DS-THF
The BB2 group uses radially split casing construction. Published designations include DVSHF, THF and DS-THF. Copy the installed nameplate designation without shortening suffixes and attach the corresponding pump documents.
Identify individual parts separately from complete bearing or seal assemblies, with the required contents and quantities taken from the relevant maintenance specification.
BB3 MSN and MSN-D
MSN and MSN-D belong to the multistage, axially split pump group. Preserve the complete pump configuration, stage association and required drawing item. For internal components, attach the installed machine’s parts list rather than using the family name alone.
A requested assembly should have its own reference and documented contents, with retained components identified separately.
DDHF-R sectional pumps
DDHF-R is a multistage single-case, radially split sectional arrangement. Provide the serial machine documents and identify whether the requirement covers an individual item, assembly or maintenance set. Keep stage and assembly associations clear in the list.
For new equipment, submit the process duty and package requirements separately from any existing-machine reference documents.
BB5 DDHF and DDHF-M
DDHF and DDHF-M are double-case, barrel-type multistage pump families. Internal arrangements vary, so component identification requires the particular machine’s documents. Define whether the scope is a complete internal assembly or individual elements within it.
Preserve the assembly reference, drawing item and quantities, and identify retained interfaces when planning a replacement.
Pump components and assemblies
Maintenance lists may cover impellers, shafts, sleeves, seals and bearing assemblies. Identify every component from the installed pump’s own documentation. Preserve part reference, drawing position, material designation where documented, and quantity.
Distinguish an individual item from an assembly or kit, and retain separate markings for independently identified devices within the pumping package.
Type, serial number, assembly document, drawing item, quantity and material from the original specification.
Process pumps and the procurement scope
Baker Hughes offers centrifugal pumps for oil and gas, refining, power generation, water systems and industrial processes. The portfolio covers single-stage and multistage machines, horizontal and vertical installations, and single- and double-case arrangements.
Begin the enquiry with the actual process duty or installed machine identity.
Process pumps should be distinguished from downhole artificial-lift equipment. They have different families, documentation and selection tasks. Include an overall installation photograph and a separate pump nameplate image.
Define whether the request concerns one component, a documented assembly, a maintenance set or a complete pumping package.
Data for complete pump selection
Provide the liquid, flow and required head for the project operating cases. Include temperatures, inlet pressures and fluid-property information required by the project specification.
Preserve units and keep nominal, minimum and maximum operating cases in separate rows rather than combining values from different conditions.
Define the supply boundaries: pump, motor, coupling, base, seal systems and auxiliary devices. Attach connection, installation and electrical requirements where applicable.
A replacement package also needs the retained piping interfaces and mounting constraints so that the enquiry describes the actual equipment scope at the site.
The published application areas include hydrocarbon processing, injection, transport, power and water services. An application name helps establish the required input data but does not determine a specific pump configuration.
Include project standards, document requirements and testing scope, distinguishing mandatory requirements from additional preferences.
Identifying an installed pump
Start with the complete type and serial number, followed by the original parts list or assembly drawing with the requested item marked. Copy every suffix in the component reference. Keep a plant stock code in a separate field beside the original reference when their relationship is established.
For a removed component, provide marking photographs, an overall view and the available drawing. Label dimensions with their units and source, such as a working drawing or a measured value. If a reference is missing, state this explicitly and attach the documents for the actual parent pump.
After modification, provide the current specification and identify the changed assemblies. Older documents can accompany the enquiry for comparison, retaining dates and revisions.
Similar pumps on one site should keep separate serial-number associations, particularly where their internal configurations or maintenance histories differ.
Selecting between pump families
For TC, VP and DSVP, retain the full type, orientation and required assembly. Vertical pumps also need the installation drawing and the complete recorded designation.
Column and discharge arrangements should remain associated with the particular machine rather than being inferred from the general vertical-family name.
For BB1 and BB2, preserve the stage count and construction stated in the machine records. Keep the installed designation and relevant drawing together.
If an older list uses a different designation, attach both documents and identify their sources instead of silently replacing one recorded reference with another.
For MSN and MSN-D, identify the required stage and drawing position. DDHF-R sectional pumps and DDHF/DDHF-M double-case pumps should be distinguished at the start of an enquiry.
A complete internal assembly needs its own designation and contents; an exterior casing photograph does not establish its internal configuration.
Components, seals and auxiliaries
Separate hydraulic elements, shaft components, bearing assemblies and seals in the procurement list. Each line should retain the original reference, drawing item, quantity and attachment name.
Where a material is documented, preserve its original designation rather than transferring a grade from another component that appears similar.
For a seal assembly, include its own markings and documentation where available. Define an individual component, maintenance set or complete assembly clearly.
Independently identified devices in the pumping package may have their own references; the pump passport provides context but does not replace a separate device’s records.
Show mating components together on the assembly drawing while retaining individual references and quantities. If the list follows a maintenance inspection, distinguish the required repair scope from additional spare holdings.
A requested kit should include its documented contents and the number of kits as well as item quantities.
Procurement list, documents and receiving
A practical table contains the pump tag, serial number, assembly, part reference, quantity and technical attachment. Keep line numbers consistent with file names.
Separate the planned maintenance scope from reserve items so that a quantity revision does not silently change the composition of a requested set.
Define the relevant document and completeness requirements before ordering. Issue a new list revision when quantities or scope change and mark the amended lines.
At receiving, compare markings, quantities and contents with the agreed specification, keeping the documents associated with the equipment for which the components were procured.
To begin selection, send the nameplate, required parts list and available drawing, together with quantity, a work contact and delivery destination. For a new pump, add the project duty and package boundaries.
Missing documents can be listed explicitly so that the next technical clarification addresses the actual gaps.
Confirmation of scope
Availability, price, lead time, distributor status, certificates and compatibility are not stated in advance. Configuration, supply scope and documents are confirmed for the specific enquiry.
Send the technical requirement
Send the project duty or parts list, pump markings, quantities and a work contact.
