Fronti Fabrications Cryogenic Cold Boxes & ASME Pressure Vessels

Selection of cold boxes, vessels and process modules associated with Fronti Fabrications within Chart. Define the equipment scope, process conditions and interfaces through your project specification.

Cold boxes and fabrication assemblies

Chart identifies Fronti as additional cold box fabrication capacity, including perlite cold boxes. Send the assembly number, location drawing and component reference when requesting a replacement.

  • Cold boxes for cryogenic process applications
  • Perlite cold box fabrication capabilities
  • Fabrication of large and small assemblies
  • Component selection against drawings and equipment identity

Hydrogen liquefier modules

Fronti contributes manufacturing capacity for Chart hydrogen liquefiers. Its business page references a 5–30 tonnes/day family range; the selected project specification defines the actual plant duty.

  • Hydrogen liquefiers within Fronti fabrication scope
  • Chart family reference of 5–30 tonnes/day
  • Cold box considered within the complete process
  • Specify feed conditions and module boundaries

Helium liquefier modules

Chart associates Fronti with helium liquefier fabrication and lists a 50–600 mmscfy product family. This annual range describes the family; module selection starts with gas composition and the required operating duty.

  • Helium liquefiers within the manufacturing scope
  • Chart family reference of 50–600 mmscfy
  • mmscfy means million standard cubic feet per year
  • State flow reference conditions alongside the value

Pressure vessels

Fronti describes new pressure vessel fabrication and repairs against ASME code requirements. A vessel component request should identify the serial number, medium, pressure, temperature and connection drawing.

  • New pressure vessel fabrication
  • Vessel repairs described by the manufacturer
  • ASME code requirements stated by Fronti
  • Materials and interfaces follow the assembly documentation

Process skids

The Fronti overview includes specialized skid fabrication. A modular assembly enquiry should define process purpose, equipment scope, interfaces and transport dimensions before components are compared.

  • Specialized skid fabrication capability
  • Assemblies for cryogenic and gas industries
  • Equipment list defines the requested module scope
  • Identify battery limits and transport dimensions

Machined and welded assemblies

Fronti lists ProtoTrak and Clausing machining, orbital welding for ½–2 inch diameters, TIG and MIG. These capabilities help classify an enquiry for a fabricated component against its drawing.

  • ProtoTrak conversational and manual machining
  • Clausing machining and one-off components
  • Orbital welding diameters of ½–2 inches
  • Also TIG, MIG, flux core and stick welding

Identify the Fronti assembly

Fronti Fabrications began in 2003 and developed its manufacturing operations in Palmerton, Pennsylvania. Chart now presents the business as fabrication capacity serving cryogenic and gas applications. An enquiry should connect that business name to a specific installed assembly.

Provide a clear nameplate photograph showing the maker, serial number, year and project reference, together with a wider photograph of the equipment.

A plant may contain equipment from several Chart businesses. Identify the requested item in the equipment list and distinguish the plant reference from the cold box serial number and the marking on the individual component.

Include the complete drawing sheet, title block and revision rather than an isolated image of a connection. This gives the people reviewing the enquiry a consistent reference for discussing the exact assembly.

Describe a replacement component

Start with the component reference in the equipment list and the quantity required. Add its own marking, photographs of the installed position and a short explanation of the need.

State whether the enquiry concerns planned replacement, a damaged interface, a change in configuration or maintenance spares. If the part has already been removed safely, photograph the mating surfaces, mounting details and overall dimensions.

For a pipe connection, include outside diameter, wall thickness, material from the documentation and connection type. For a seal, show the seating arrangement and dimensions. For an instrument, provide its own model, range and electrical interface.

Separate nameplate values, drawing requirements and measurements taken during inspection so each item can be checked against the correct source.

Define a cold box or liquefier project

Separate the process objective from the requested module scope. Describe the gas composition, inlet conditions, required product and intended operating duty. Attach a process diagram, stream list and the available interface drawing.

Explain whether the enquiry is for a new module, a fabricated assembly or a replacement component within existing equipment. This establishes the starting point for technical discussion.

The Fronti page references Chart hydrogen liquefiers at 5–30 tonnes/day and helium liquefiers at 50–600 mmscfy. These are product family ranges rather than a rating for every Fronti assembly. State your own required capacity, units and reference conditions.

Include operating hours, startup requirements and expected load changes so the proposed module can be considered within the wider plant and its actual process boundaries.

Specify interfaces and transport limits

List the equipment requested inside a process skid separately from equipment supplied by the receiving site. Mark inlet and outlet connections, drains and links to existing services on the interface drawing.

For each connection, include its reference, location relative to a common datum and mating arrangement. Provide an available installation drawing showing dimensions and the intended access side for operation and maintenance.

For shipment and installation, identify the receiving location, dimensional constraints, unloading arrangements and access to the building. Indicate whether the project expects one assembly or separate transport sections.

Add the required treatment of open connections, lifting provisions and packing arrangements to the enquiry. These details help compare proposals with equivalent scope and establish what is expected to arrive at the site.

Relate inspection requirements to the item

Fronti describes CWI inspection oversight, helium leak detection and dye penetrant examination among its manufacturing capabilities. For a specific enquiry, attach the project inspection requirements and identify the assembly or joint to which each requirement applies.

State the inspection method, acceptance criterion and expected record together so that the requested scope is clear before a component is selected.

For a vessel or welded assembly, include the relevant equipment documentation, drawing and project material requirements. If the equipment has already been modified or repaired, add the available work record and the current drawing revision.

Identify the responsible technical reviewer at the receiving site. This allows the proposed item and the associated inspection scope to be considered against the same documented configuration.

Prepare a maintenance enquiry

Describe the observed issue and attach the available operating record. Useful information includes the date of discovery, operating condition, instrument readings and previous component replacements. State whether the plant is operating or has been placed into a maintenance condition.

Take photographs only where access is safe and in accordance with the site procedure. The enquiry provides information for component selection; work on the installed equipment follows the responsible site team procedures.

For a planned shutdown, group the requested items by assembly and show quantity, drawing reference and desired receipt date for each line. Separate urgent replacements from reserve items for a later maintenance period.

This keeps references traceable and helps distinguish the requested component supply from dismantling, repair and commissioning activities at the plant.

Compare like-for-like equipment scope

Use one equipment list when comparing proposals. Check the assembly identity, component or drawing reference, revision, quantity and supply boundary against every line. If a complete assembly is proposed where the original request concerned one internal component, record that difference explicitly.

Ask where any additional item fits into the process or installation drawing so the scope can be assessed consistently.

Check mating connections, fasteners, installation accessories and packing where these are part of your requirements. Use the same units, stream names and drawing numbers across the technical attachments. A table with requirement, proposed arrangement and comment columns is useful for a new module.

It gives the engineering team a clear way to evaluate differences and relate the proposed equipment to the receiving site actual interfaces.

Submit the technical and delivery brief

Send the task description through the enquiry form with available photographs, a specification or drawings. Identify Fronti Fabrications, equipment type and the installed assembly or project reference in the subject.

Give attachments meaningful names and explain which requested item appears in each document. Include the delivery destination and a contact for technical clarification so questions can be routed to the person responsible for the equipment.

For equipment, describe the required module scope and installation location. For spare parts, begin with an identified component and quantity, then add the remaining lines of the equipment list. Packing, delivery point and the proposed supply scope are discussed alongside technical requirements.

Keep the purchasing information and equipment references consistent throughout the enquiry so the resulting quotation can be compared with the original request.
