Compact VP robots

The VP family serves compact workstations. Identify the complete robot model and the required assembly before ordering a replacement. VP-5243 and VP-6242 have different axis counts and payload ratings, making the exact designation essential for selection.

  • VP-5243: 5 axes, 2.5 kg
  • VP-6242: 6 axes, 3 kg
  • Motion area: 430 and 432 mm
  • Supply by model and assembly reference

Six-axis VS robots

VS includes several manipulator sizes. Repairs start with the model index, controller generation and installed configuration. A new cell requires a joint assessment of motion area, tooling mass and part weight, including access to the working position.

  • VS-050/060: 4 kg
  • VS-068/087: 7 kg
  • Motion area: 505/605 and 710/905 mm
  • VS-6556/6577 are separate models

VM robots for heavier tooling

VM is a six-axis family rated for payloads up to 13 kg. An equipment enquiry should include the machine layout and tooling weight. Replacement cables, drives and mechanical assemblies are identified using the installed component marking and connection photographs.

  • VM-6083 and VM-60B1
  • 6 axes, payload up to 13 kg
  • Motion area: 1021 and 1298 mm
  • Configured around the workstation

Four-axis HS-A1 SCARA robots

HS-A1 provides planar handling with vertical movement in a compact four-axis arrangement. Repair selection requires arm length, vertical stroke and the complete model designation. These details distinguish configurations that may look similar in photographs.

  • HS035A1, HS045A1, HS055A1
  • 4 axes, payload up to 5 kg
  • Arm length: 350/450/550 mm
  • Identify Z stroke from the full model

HSR SCARA robots for repetitive handling

HSR is a four-axis family with payloads up to 8 kg. Equipment selection considers the service area and the transfer path between positions. A replacement assembly enquiry needs the robot nameplate, mounting information and its documentation reference.

  • HSR-048, HSR-055, HSR-065
  • 4 axes, payload up to 8 kg
  • Arm length: 480/550/650 mm
  • Specify mounting and cable scope

COBOTTA and COBOTTA PRO

COBOTTA and COBOTTA PRO are distinct collaborative robot families. Compact COBOTTA handles light tasks, while PRO accommodates heavier tooling. Specify the exact model, gripper, operation and intended interaction with the operator when requesting equipment.

  • COBOTTA: 0.5 kg, arm 342.5 mm
  • COBOTTA PRO 900/1300: 6/12 kg
  • PRO arm length: 900/1300 mm
  • PRO repeatability: ±0.03/±0.04 mm

RC8A and controller components

RC8A controls the robot and connects it to the surrounding cell. A replacement unit or board requires controller identification, the part number, connector photographs and installed options. Match the system scope to the manipulator and its application program.

  • PacScript programming language
  • RC8A controller protection: IP20
  • Ethernet and USB; network board options
  • Selection by marking and installed options

Teaching pendants, software and accessories

DENSO Robotics lists teaching pendants, interface boards and controller protective boxes. Pendant and software enquiries should include the controller designation, installed system version and the required function, together with the desired delivery scope.

  • Teaching pendants and connections
  • WINCAPS III, ORiN2, Robot Tools
  • Optional interface boards
  • Check accessories and cable scope

Identify a replacement component

Start with photographs of the robot nameplate and the component marking. Include a wider view showing where the assembly is installed. If you have a parts list, attach the relevant page and its position reference. Cable enquiries benefit from photographs of both ends and the marked length.

Record the manipulator and controller separately, including all suffixes. Purchasing and maintenance can then review the same complete component reference.

Select a robot around the application

Describe the operation, such as machine loading, transfer, assembly, dispensing or inspection. Specify the workpiece dimensions, gripping points and required orientation at placement. A layout should identify surrounding obstacles, machine access points and the free space around the workstation.

Compare service area, tool orientation and approach path using the same workpiece, gripper, movement route and mounting requirements for every candidate.

Include the tooling in the payload

Calculate the combined weight of the part, gripper, adaptor plate and equipment attached to the wrist. Describe the centre of gravity and tool geometry. These inputs support a proper review of the load conditions and the selected robot configuration.

Compare alternatives with the same tooling, cables and pneumatic lines. Attach a gripper drawing and the product range to define the intended load conditions.

Define the controller and cable package

List the manipulator, controller, teaching pendant, connecting cables and required interface boards as a complete system. If some equipment is already installed, identify it separately and state which components will remain in use following replacement or expansion.

For cables, provide route length, cabinet position and both connectors. A layout and agreed component schedule make quotations comparable and clarify connections before ordering.

Controller generation and system version

An electronic replacement enquiry should identify the controller, the component number, installed software version and existing boards. When the robot connects to a production line, also name the PLC and communication protocol used by the current equipment.

List programs, taught points and settings to retain. The equipment owner prepares backups under the system procedure. Request hardware, interfaces, pendants and software as separate items.

Prepare a maintenance enquiry

Describe the symptom and include the message shown on the pendant. Explain which operation triggers it, when it started and which components the maintenance team has already checked. A photograph of the display helps preserve the exact message for the technical review.

Attach assembly markings and documentation references alongside the symptom. Clarify whether the request covers an identified spare part, a complete assembly or investigation of the installed system.

SCARA or a six-axis manipulator

SCARA robots are considered for movements in a plane combined with vertical travel. Six-axis manipulators are useful when the tool orientation changes or the part must be approached from different directions. Begin the comparison with the actual transfer path and access conditions.

For SCARA, specify transfer heights, vertical stroke, space and mounting. For six-axis selection, show tool orientation at key points before comparing models and package scope.

COBOTTA applications and cell scope

Distinguish compact COBOTTA from COBOTTA PRO by the intended task and loading. A compact workstation enquiry should identify the small tool weight, part size and table arrangement. A PRO enquiry should describe the complete process and intended interaction with the operator.

Include grippers, fixtures, connections and control requirements. The integration team prepares the work-area design and safety assessment. Define the model, process and work boundaries in the enquiry.

Operating environment and configuration

Describe dust, splashes, process fluids, cleanliness requirements and the intended cabinet position. For an installed robot, attach the configuration marking and relevant system documents. These details identify the environment in which the selected components will operate.

Review manipulator protection and controller installation separately. Identify components near contamination sources and attach site photographs plus the plant requirements for cleaning and maintenance.

Production-line communication

Specify the PLC, communication network, exchange tasks and required signals. Describe whether the system must start a robot program, transfer workpiece data, follow a conveyor or provide basic readiness signals. An existing connection diagram is a useful starting point for the enquiry.

List interface options, connecting components and existing board designations. Compare quotations by function and connection boundary, separating the robot package from work on the production line.

Teaching pendant and operator position

A replacement pendant enquiry should show the front panel, identification label and cable connector. Add the controller model and the functions currently used. If the requirement is limited to a cable or accessory, describe that item separately in the purchasing schedule.

Explain the operator position, setup access and controller location. List the pendant and accessories required for delivery, enabling a completeness check before configuration by the responsible specialist.

Software enquiry requirements

The official software range lists WINCAPS III, ORiN2 and Robot Tools. Describe the intended result: program preparation, checking robot placement, connecting an application or working with settings in an installed system. Match the software request to the real task of the engineer using it.

Include controller, workstation and version information. List required functions and expected files, connections or operations to define the software scope separately from hardware replacement.

Build a clear purchasing schedule

Use a single table containing the item description, model, part number or documentation reference, quantity and purpose. Attach photographs where the markings are incomplete. For several similar cables, identify both ends and the installation position of each assembly.

Separate equipment and spare assemblies into individual rows. Mark essential items and accessories, allowing maintenance to check each quoted line against the installed equipment before ordering.

Define the equipment delivery boundary

Send the cell requirements, operation list, layout and plant expectations for completeness. For an individual robot, identify the proposed gripper, workpiece, mounting position and controller. For a replacement, provide the installed system information and explain which equipment is being retained.

Define whether the request covers a component, equipment package or selection support. Include delivery details and a technical contact, then review the quotation by model, quantity and package contents.

Availability, price, lead time, documents and compatibility are assessed for each enquiry. This page does not establish authorized dealership, authorized servicing or identical specifications for every configuration; the quotation scope is agreed for the selected system.
