DonadonSDD rupture disc systems

SpareX sources rupture discs, explosion venting panels and indicators against project data. We compare the device duty, process conditions, connections and required package for a new installation or replacement.

NS NanoScored metal rupture discs

NS NanoScored includes metal discs with forward and reverse action. Identify the series and the installed assembly before selecting the replacement configuration.

  • SCD, SCR, Y90 and KRD series
  • SCD is a forward acting design
  • SCR, Y90 and KRD are reverse acting
  • Identify the installed holder

Forward acting disc families

The forward acting range includes SCD, DCD, DIF, LPD and TCD. A shared family classification does not establish interchangeability; use the complete designation for a replacement enquiry.

  • SCD, DCD, DIF, LPD and TCD
  • LPD addresses low pressure duty
  • Compare the replacement tag details
  • Separate a disc from a complete assembly

Sanitary rupture disc assemblies

Sanitary configurations address food, pharmaceutical and biotechnology processes. Compare the Clamp or Tri-Clamp connection and the documentation for the specific assembly.

  • Sanitary SCD, SCR and KRD versions
  • DCD and Y90 are also represented
  • Clamp or Tri-Clamp connections
  • Provide process and cleaning conditions

GA, GM and GR graphite discs

GA, GM and GR form the graphite disc group for aggressive process media. The manufacturer identifies fragmentation on rupture, a factor for the protected equipment design.

  • GA, GM and GR series
  • Graphite impregnated with phenolic resin
  • Fragmentation occurs on rupture
  • Specify the medium and installation point

PS-R and PSC explosion venting panels

PS-R and PSC are non-self-reclosing explosion venting devices. A new panel enquiry needs the protected equipment data and the dimensions of its installation opening.

  • PS-R and circular PSC panels
  • Gas or dust applications
  • Opening at a defined activation pressure
  • Replacement follows panel activation

Rupture indicators and NAM 05

Indicators report disc or panel activation. The NAM 05 inductive sensor monitors a target that moves when the pressure relief device opens.

  • Electric and magnetic sensing options
  • Inductive and optical fibre sensing
  • NAM 05 combines a sensor and target
  • Include the monitoring circuit diagram

New protection system or replacement disc

Start the enquiry with the duty of the device. For an operating plant, identify the item on the process drawing and include the installed assembly document. For a new project, supply the data sheet for the equipment being protected.

List the disc, holder, connecting items and monitoring components separately so every quotation line has a defined purpose.

DonadonSDD specialises in rupture discs, indicators and explosion venting panels. These groups have different functions, so distinguish the pressure relief element from its activation monitoring.

When a replacement package follows an operating event, include the previous order reference and current tag photographs. The engineer responsible for the installation should assess the protection scheme against the project requirements before the equipment schedule is approved.

Tag details for repeat orders

Photograph the complete identification tag, including small lettering and the units beside marked values. Transcribe the series without abbreviating it and retain letter suffixes and any batch reference. Add an overall installation photograph and a view of the holder.

For several similar discs, assign enquiry line numbers and use the same references in file names.

Include the earlier specification when a previous order is available, but compare it with the equipment actually installed. The configuration or process conditions may have changed between purchases. Keep discs with different parameters on separate lines even when their outer dimensions match.

If a tag cannot be read, supply the relevant equipment document and a technical contact who can clarify the assembly arrangement.

Pressure, temperature and process medium

Separate burst pressure, temperature at burst conditions and normal operating duty on the data sheet. State units beside each value. Identify vacuum, back pressure and cyclic changes when they form part of the specified operating cases.

Describe the process medium and its physical state, and attach the protected equipment limits as a separate project record.

These inputs define the configuration comparison rather than only a nominal diameter. Highlight any change in medium or temperature since the device was installed. For a repeat purchase, retain the units shown on the tag and add project values separately.

Keep the commercial line item tied to the agreed specification. Assessing whether the complete protection arrangement is sufficient remains an engineering task for the installation.

Holder and process connection

State whether the enquiry covers a disc alone or an assembly with a holder. Retaining an installed connection requires the holder designation, connection size, flange rating and facing information. Include the assembly drawing and photographs of both sides.

For a sanitary arrangement, identify the clamp type and its mating components separately.

Compare the fit using the equipment documentation rather than a single outside diameter. Mark site measurements as measured values and explain how they were taken. List any items that will remain installed.

This avoids adding an unnecessary holder or omitting a component required by the specified assembly. Obtain orientation, tightening and post-installation inspection instructions from the documentation for that particular device before maintenance work begins.

Explosion venting panel project data

For PS-R or PSC, include the protected equipment data and a drawing of the installation opening. Identify whether the process involves gas or dust, the operating cases specified by the project and the item being replaced.

An existing panel enquiry benefits from photographs of its face, tag, frame and monitoring connection. Keep every panel line linked to its protected equipment item.

Assess a new panel against the installation location and approved project arrangement. For a repeat order, provide the configuration already used. Panel dimensions, activation conditions and package contents should appear together in the equipment specification.

List mounting components and the connected indicator separately. Include the receiving documents required by the maintenance team in the initial package requirements.

Indicator package and monitoring circuit

For an indicator, identify the model, installation point and connection diagram. Separate the sensor, cable, target and other requested assembly items. A NAM 05 enquiry should show the installed device and the relative position of sensor and target.

Where only part of a package is needed, identify the components that will remain at the site and describe their condition.

The activation signal needs to match the monitoring system defined for the plant. Supply its requirements together with the mechanical enquiry. Identify the input type, control cabinet location and existing connection method.

Verify circuit duty and its suitability for the installation area against the project documents. Keep the indicator reference linked to the disc or panel it monitors throughout the equipment schedule.

From enquiry to equipment schedule

Combine identification details, documents, quantities and the delivery destination in one enquiry. Assign a purpose to every line, whether a repeat disc, holder, indicator or new assembly. Include a technical contact for clarification.

After the inputs have been compared, check the proposed model, configuration and package contents against the equipment data sheet.

For project packages, specify packaging, shipping marks and the receiving document set. For spare parts, preserve the connection to the installed equipment. When several alternatives have been considered, record the selected revision clearly in the agreed schedule.

Photographs and drawings can be attached through the enquiry form. Add a short document list for larger submissions so the recipient can connect each file to the correct device.
