LaMOT Valve & Arrestor tank protection equipment
SpareX sources pressure and vacuum relief valves, flame arrestors, blanket gas regulators and hatches against project data. We compare the duty, configuration, connections and scope of supply for each tank or gas line.
L12E and L12F relief valves
L12E and L12F combine pressure and vacuum relief. Identify the complete installed configuration before selecting a replacement component or a complete valve.
- Pressure/Vacuum Relief function
- Assess L12E and L12F separately
- L13S uses a side mount arrangement
- L13T uses a top mount arrangement
L76 flame arrestors
The range includes L76E-UF, L76E-AF and other flame control configurations. Treat the L7661 detonation arrestor as a separate selection against the gas line documentation.
- L76E-UF and L76E-AF
- L76W-SF is an end-of-line model
- L7661 is a detonation arrestor
- Define the location and gas composition
LV88 combined protection units
LV88E-HWW-C and LV88F-HWW-D combine pressure/vacuum relief and flame arrestor functions. Supply the full suffix and define whether the enquiry concerns a component or the complete assembly.
- LV88E-HWW-C
- LV88F-HWW-D
- Combined protection functions
- Check the complete assembly documentation
L22E and LV22E emergency relief
L22E uses a pre-configured arrangement, while LV22E is configurable. List L5000 and L5100 free vents separately so the package distinguishes emergency relief from open venting.
- L22E and LV22E
- Emergency overpressure relief
- L5000 and L5100 are free vents
- L5000 is described for non-volatile liquids
L3000 blanket gas regulator
L3000 maintains tank vapor space pressure by supplying inert gas when needed. Selection requires the gas supply conditions and the tank operating data together.
- Blanket Gas Regulator L3000
- Inert gas supply as required
- Tank vapor space control
- State supply and required tank pressures
L12-TH, L12-TL and L61T hatches
L12-TH incorporates a spring loaded pressure/vacuum valve. L61T provides gauging and sampling access. LLDC is a conversion kit for changing a thief hatch to a lockdown arrangement.
- L12-TH and L12-TL
- Lockdown Hatch L61T
- LLDC conversion kit
- Provide lid, base and tag photographs
Select equipment by tank duty
Start with the duty of each device. A project may include normal breathing, emergency relief, flame control and gas blanketing as separate functions. Supply an individual data sheet entry and drawing reference for every device.
For replacement work, include the installed tag, equipment document and photographs from several sides. For a new tank, begin with the design data and the operating cases that the project engineer has defined.
Specify the package boundary in the enquiry. It may cover repair components, a complete device or several coordinated assemblies. Keeping that boundary explicit makes line items easier to compare and preserves the connection between parts of one assembly.
Proposed changes to the tank protection scheme should be assessed by the engineer responsible for the installation.
Identify the model and the component
Photograph the complete tag so the manufacturer, model, serial information and marked settings can be read. Transcribe the designation with its letters and hyphens. Add an overall photograph and identify the required component on a drawing.
When several similar valves are involved, label every photograph with the corresponding enquiry line. This connects a part reference to a specific assembly and keeps different configurations separate.
If no component number is available, send the manual page showing its drawing callout and explain the maintenance task. Include dimensions with units, making clear which measurements came from the installation and which came from a document.
A brief replacement history helps establish whether the enquiry repeats a previous package or requires further configuration checks.
Process conditions, pressure and vacuum
Separate normal operating pressure, tank design limits and requested device settings on the data sheet. Enter vacuum requirements in their own fields. State the unit beside every value and include the original document when the installed tag uses another unit system.
Record process temperature and ambient temperature separately. Project sizing also needs the defined flow cases, gas composition and information about the liquid held in the tank.
Check body and sealing materials against the individual configuration. Highlight any change in fluid or temperature since the equipment was installed. Finding a repeat component does not establish suitability for a changed operating case.
Compare the final equipment specification with the installation data before placing the order, and retain the approved data sheet with the procurement record.
Connections and package contents
For installed equipment, provide the connection size and standard, orientation and available maintenance space. Include an installation drawing showing the mating connection when available. State whether bolting, gaskets, adapters or other piping items belong in the enquiry.
Associate every additional line with the device it supports. A connection size and a family name do not describe the entire package.
Compare quotations using the same scope of supply. For a complete device, list the identification data and documents needed at receiving inspection. For a maintenance package, distinguish the number of components per assembly from the total number of assemblies.
Record any items that the installation contractor will provide so they can be separated from the equipment package during technical clarification.
Information for a flame arrestor enquiry
Mark the arrestor location on the gas line drawing and specify the required equipment type. Include the gas composition, flow direction and connected equipment information. For replacement work, retain the complete model designation and the documentation of the installed protection device.
Treat an end-of-line arrangement and an in-line arrangement as separate equipment selections. For a combined LV88 unit, define the relief valve duty and the required assembly boundary as well.
When requesting a service component, include an exploded drawing and a photograph of the relevant assembly. A complete replacement should be checked against the project requirements by the responsible engineer.
Product procurement and assessment of the protection arrangement are distinct tasks whose documents need to describe the same installation.
Gas blanketing and hatch package data
For L3000, prepare the inert gas supply data and required tank pressure. Add the gas piping arrangement and list the equipment included in the requested package. For hatches, identify the need for gauging access, sampling access or conversion of an existing arrangement.
State the lid and base model, operating conditions and package contents. Include an overall installation photograph together with the close view of the closed hatch.
When valves and hatches are required for several tanks, group the enquiry lines by installation. Keep a single agreed equipment schedule for each tank.
Similar model names, different settings and separate quantities then remain attached to their own installation, allowing one technical clarification to be recorded without altering the adjacent equipment lines.
From enquiry to an agreed specification
Combine the identification details, documents, quantity and delivery destination in the initial enquiry. Name the technical contact and the preferred reply channel. Once the data has been compared, the equipment schedule can state the model, configuration and package contents.
Check every line against the original data sheet before order approval. Where several options have been discussed, record the selected arrangement in the final document.
For project equipment, define receiving documents, packaging requirements and shipping marks in advance. For spare parts, keep the reference to the installed assembly. A complete schedule makes it easier to inspect the package on arrival and hand the relevant documents to the maintenance team.
Photographs and drawings can be attached through the enquiry form on this page.
