EVE energy storage systems and ESS components

Source EVE storage solutions and battery components for energy, telecom and backup applications. Provide the intended duty, power, stored energy and site diagram.

ESS for generation assets

Grid ESS is presented for generation, network and end user applications. A generating asset requires the solution scope to be linked to its energy production profile and project requirements.

  • Stationary applications
  • Energy system integration
  • Power and energy defined in the brief
  • Project based approval

Grid connected ESS

EVE describes distributed energy storage as part of a smart grid. Selection requires the connection point, operating modes and project defined functions to be described.

  • Grid integration
  • Critical load support
  • System flexibility
  • Connection scheme review

Industrial user side storage

End user applications are included in Grid ESS. An industrial site needs its load profile, permitted grid interaction and existing electrical equipment to be considered together.

  • Industrial load profile
  • Stationary installation
  • Project based integration
  • Defined system supply scope

Telecom base station backup

Telecom ESS includes backup power for telecommunications sites. An enquiry should specify the supply bus, load power and required backup duration.

  • Base stations
  • Standby power duty
  • Project defined supply bus
  • Specified autonomy requirement

Data centre battery solutions

Data centres are among the applications listed for Telecom ESS. The battery scope should be agreed with the existing backup architecture and the site’s operational requirements.

  • Backup power application
  • Project defined UPS integration
  • Monitoring requirements
  • Specification based scope

Residential and distributed ESS

Household ESS covers grid connected and off-grid residential solutions. Selection begins with the power scheme, generation sources and the list of loads to be supported.

  • Grid connected operation
  • Off-grid operation
  • Local generation
  • Site scheme based selection

Storage in charging infrastructure

EVE describes the relationship between storage, distributed generation and electric vehicle charging. The required configuration is defined together with the site’s energy architecture.

  • Distributed generation
  • Charging loads
  • Energy flow coordination
  • Project defined interfaces

Battery components for ESS

EVE describes LFP cells, modular integration and liquid cooling for storage solutions. Component replacement is reviewed against the documentation and installed configuration of the particular system.

  • LFP cells
  • Modular architecture
  • Thermal management
  • Replacement component identification

Power and energy requirements in the brief

Specify required power and stored energy separately. They describe different aspects of the application and cannot substitute for one another. Add the duration of each operating mode, the load profile and the recharge conditions. For backup power, list the loads that must continue operating.

For an energy project, provide its functional diagram. This establishes the battery scope and the questions that need integration review.

Site dimensions, climate and available auxiliary systems should be considered alongside the electrical requirements rather than after a nominal capacity has already been selected. Keep the final requirements linked to the intended operating modes.

Battery scope and the complete installation

Distinguish battery cells and modules from power conversion, control, cooling and other auxiliary equipment. The presence of EVE cells in a project does not mean that the entire installation was manufactured by EVE.

State whether the enquiry concerns an identified battery item, an agreed assembly or a complete solution. For each component, identify the manufacturer, model and supply boundary where known. The project integrator confirms operation of the combined equipment.

This is particularly relevant when extending an existing installation, because the new battery scope must fit the established control, protection and power architecture.

Backup for telecom and data centre sites

Describe normal power operation and the sequence followed when the external source fails. Include critical load power, required backup duration, switching requirements and the recharge arrangement. State whether an existing rectifier, UPS or other equipment is involved.

A telecom site and a data centre may require different system configurations, so the general term ESS cannot replace a technical brief. Existing battery markings and site documents help distinguish replacement of an approved component from modification of the backup architecture.

The responsible engineering team should review the final schedule before procurement and installation planning proceed.

Monitoring and thermal architecture

EVE’s official description includes thermal simulation, cell and module isolation, thermal runaway detection and cloud monitoring. These belong to the system solutions described by the manufacturer; their inclusion and implementation should be established for the particular supply configuration.

The project needs to define local and remote monitoring, available interfaces and operational responsibility. Cooling requirements must be related to the site and its auxiliary systems. Documentation for the selected configuration should connect the battery scope with control and site services.

A general feature list is useful for orientation but does not replace verification of the identified product.

Maintenance and expansion of an existing ESS

For component replacement, provide the storage system manufacturer and model, cabinet or module identification, installed configuration and available control versions. For expansion, include an as-built diagram and the requirements for interaction between new and installed equipment.

Do not combine different component generations merely because their dimensions or capacities appear similar. First establish the permitted change scope and verification procedure, then agree the particular products and quantities.

This preserves traceability between the operating installation, its documentation and the ordered components. It also gives the site team a clearer basis for incoming inspection, commissioning coordination and subsequent maintenance records.

Preparing a useful procurement request

Start with the complete marking on the product and a clear photograph of the label. Add the application, quantity, terminal arrangement and delivery destination.

If the equipment documentation contains both an internal customer code and an EVE designation, provide both: the name of a finished device may differ from the cell installed inside it. A previous approved specification is useful for repeat orders, particularly when changes are highlighted.

For a new design, include the power requirements and available installation space. This information distinguishes a request for individual cells from a battery assembly or a complete system.

Electrical requirements and load profile

Describe the operating voltage window, average consumption, maximum current and duration of peak loads. A capacity figure alone does not explain how a battery behaves in the intended application.

State whether the equipment runs continuously, wakes periodically from standby or operates only during an outage. For rechargeable products, include the charger characteristics and control requirements. These inputs allow the appropriate variant to be discussed against its documentation.

When comparing proposals, use equivalent test conditions: initial state, temperature, discharge current, end voltage and duty cycle. Keep the equipment requirements separate from unverified claims about a particular product.

Dimensions, terminals and installation

A photograph beside a ruler can support preliminary identification, while the final selection should follow an agreed drawing. Provide dimensions, tolerances, polarity, terminal type, connector and mounting arrangement.

Products that look similar may differ in tabs, leads, attachment points or mechanical support requirements. When replacing a component inside an existing assembly, include the connection drawing and the assembly identification.

The equipment owner or responsible engineer should confirm the proposed variant. An agreed mechanical specification helps prevent a situation in which an electrically suitable cell cannot be fitted correctly into the instrument or battery module.

Operating and storage conditions

Describe the ambient temperature and the temperature inside the enclosure, exposure to moisture, vibration, ventilation and standby periods. Storage conditions before installation are also relevant to the supply specification.

Check the documentation of the selected variant rather than applying the temperature range of a neighbouring product family. Separate normal operation from short duration extremes. For outdoor installations, vehicles or cabinets with limited cooling, provide the applicable project requirements.

Considering the installation environment at the enquiry stage helps align the selected battery with the actual operating conditions rather than relying only on the information printed on its housing.

Documentation and batch traceability

Record the full designation, specification revision, quantity and required accompanying documents in the order schedule. For production programmes, define how batches will be identified and how markings will be retained.

The applicability of transport documents and test reports is checked against the agreed product and shipping method. Label photographs, packing lists and technical specifications serve different purposes and do not replace each other.

If your organisation follows a specific incoming inspection procedure, provide it before quotation. Requirements for documents, samples and inspection can then be included in the agreed order instead of being introduced after dispatch.

Samples and production quantities

For a new application, it is useful to separate technical sample evaluation from the subsequent production order. State which parameters your organisation will test and who is responsible for approving the application.

Retain sample results together with the product designation and the documentation revision. Before moving to volume supply, agree requirements for consistent construction, packaging and identification. For equipment already in service, an approved parts list can provide the starting point.

A change in chemistry, housing or connection arrangement is treated as a design change and should be agreed by the responsible specialist before an order is placed.

Supply scope and delivery planning

An enquiry can include several items, each with its own quantity and purpose. Separate cells, assembled modules, cables and additional components so that both purchasing and engineering teams can review the scope. Provide the delivery destination, preferred batch sequence and packaging requirements.

Battery transport requires an agreed shipping arrangement and appropriate terminal protection. Following technical clarification, the proposal identifies the products and their supply scope.

Compare this schedule line by line with the original enquiry to ensure that a required variant or accessory has not been omitted. Keep delivery planning linked to the final agreed configuration.

Availability, price, lead time, supply scope, transport documentation and compatibility are confirmed in the proposal for the identified product. This page does not establish authorised distributor or service status, or identical specifications across variants.
