Identify the installed component
Photograph the entire code on the housing, including the configuration suffix and any electrical ratings. Add an overall picture showing the device in its appliance. A family name alone may cover several mounting or connection arrangements.
If the component label is unreadable, provide the appliance nameplate and a description of the component function. State whether you need a temperature regulator, a safety limiter or a combined unit. Keep the original code exactly as written.
For multiple items, number each photograph to match the list. We will clarify any missing dimensions or documents.
Capillary and sensing bulb dimensions
For a capillary thermostat, include the bulb length and diameter and the available capillary length. A photograph of the bulb in its pocket or mounting location helps describe how the sensor is installed.
Show the housing attachment, adjustment shaft and electrical contacts. If a knob is included in the request, photograph its connection to the shaft. The sensing position and capillary route are useful when comparing the installed component with a proposed replacement.
Attach a service drawing where available and label dimensions with their units. Mechanical requirements and temperature settings are checked separately.
Rod and heater connection
For a rod device, specify the working stem length and its attachment to the heater. Direct plug-in mounting and a wire-connected arrangement should be described separately. The appearance of a housing does not establish its electrical interface.
Photograph the heater terminal side and its complete identification label. If the removed component is available, a picture beside a ruler helps explain the mounting geometry and sensing position.
Provide the circuit diagram or terminal markings for a wired device. State whether you need a thermostat alone or a heater assembly.
Operating control and protective cut-out
Separate the normal operating temperature from the safety cut-out requirement. A thermostat controls regular heating, while a limiter provides a protective function. Both functions need to be identified when requesting a combistat.
Add the markings from the scale, housing and service diagram. If the requirements are available only in the appliance manual, send the relevant page. An adjustment scale should not be used as a substitute for the specification of the safety function.
Describe the symptom and replacement scope. Equipment diagnosis and electrical safety checks belong to the qualified maintenance team.
Electrical load and wiring
Include supply voltage, heater current or power and the number of phases. Provide a terminal photograph and a wiring diagram where available. These details help assess the electrical configuration separately from its mounting dimensions.
For a device with several contacts, show which circuits serve regulation and which serve protection. A three-phase combistat enquiry should describe all connected circuits. Avoid inferring the circuit arrangement solely from the visible number of terminals.
Retain the component code and appliance documents. Responsible personnel should photograph exposed electrical parts only after safe isolation.
Specify the heating element
Send a dimensioned drawing or photographs, rated power, voltage and the material exposed to the heated medium. Describe the mounting connection, such as a thread or flange, and identify the required joining parts.
Include the immersed section geometry, terminal position and temperature sensing location. For a dry heater, describe the sleeve and available installation space. These details support a coherent specification for the replacement assembly.
List the heater and thermostat together if both need replacement. Include the required accessories and their connection arrangements.
Board, interface and controller configuration
For an electronic system, provide the appliance model, full board code and connector photographs. Add information about the user interface, sensors and associated heating elements when they form part of the requested assembly.
State whether you need a board alone, a controller with its interface or a complete control assembly. Include the documented version or configuration reference. Similar looking boards can belong to different appliance generations or control arrangements.
For an integration project, describe the functions, energy sources and interface. Identify whether the request is for replacement or new equipment.
Water heaters and storage tanks
Begin with the water heater model and nameplate, followed by the thermostat and heater assembly codes. Specify whether the request concerns a regulation component, a protective limiter or a complete set for one tank.
For a multi-tank appliance, allocate every item to its installation position. Similar components should remain associated with their particular tank and electrical circuit. Give the function and quantity for each line.
Keep mounting and connection photographs of removed assemblies. Describe the complete delivery scope using the appliance identification.
Food service equipment
Identify the appliance type: oven, fryer, heated cabinet, warewasher or hot drink dispenser. Provide the appliance model and the code of the installed temperature component. The application description gives context to the component request.
For a capillary device, show the bulb location and housing attachment. For a safety component, add the protective circuit reference from the wiring diagram. State whether a knob or mounting accessories are required with the thermostat.
Service organisations can list one component per appliance line. Keep similar devices associated with their corresponding models.
Space heating and industrial applications
For a space heater or duct heater, describe its function, installation environment and electrical load. Add the identification of the existing regulator and safety limiter. A photograph should show how the component sits within the assembly.
Choose the required Cotherm family by the component function: heating control, protective cut-out, electronic regulation or heat generation. Name both the component and the equipment where it will be used.
For a new assembly, send its operating regime, available space and connection interfaces. Existing replacements start with the original code.
Prepare a structured enquiry
List the description, complete code, quantity and associated equipment for every item. Number the photographs and drawings to match the list. State whether repeated components have identical configurations.
If some details are unavailable, start with the identification and photographs you have. Further questions about geometry, wiring or temperature requirements can be resolved during selection. Preserve the original markings instead of substituting an assumed equivalent.
Include the destination, technical contact and required documents. For several facilities, specify the quantity allocation.
Confirm the delivery scope
After technical clarification, confirm every component designation, quantity and included accessory. A heater, thermostat, limiter, electronic board and mounting parts should appear as separate items when ordered separately.
A proposed replacement is assessed against the original parameters, wiring and mounting dimensions. Changes to the assembly scope should be reflected in the quotation. The selected configuration can then be reviewed by the buyer and the equipment maintenance team.
Confirm packaging and receiving documents. Keep each line associated with the appliance for incoming inspection and maintenance allocation.
