Identify the exact Crouse-Hinds version
Send the complete code from the product label or casting, keeping every suffix and separator. A clear photograph of the nameplate is useful alongside a general view. List the requested item, quantity and whether it is a complete assembly or a component belonging to an installed product.
For an incomplete marking, attach the equipment schedule, wiring drawing or previous specification. Separate products with different labels into different lines. Include the procurement purpose: a replacement, a planned spare, a new installation or an extension to an existing system.
This establishes which interfaces and accessories the enquiry needs to cover.
Define the boundary of the equipment package
Specify what the package should contain. A junction box enquiry may require a body and cover, terminals, cable entries and mounting accessories. A lighting package may include the luminaire, a mounting module and separate service components. Describe each requested assembly in its own line.
For a spare part, identify the parent product and the item number in its documentation. Include the assembly drawing or a photograph showing where the part belongs. State any fasteners, seals or accessories that should be considered together.
For a complete replacement, add the mounting interface and connections.
Provide the installation requirements
Include the area designation and environmental conditions from the project documents. Describe the gas or dust environment, required protection concept and ambient temperature. The label of the installed product should accompany these requirements when the enquiry concerns a replacement.
Retain the exact Ex marking, group and temperature details in the equipment list. Add requirements for water exposure, contamination or a corrosive environment when relevant to the installation. For an enclosure assembly, provide details of the intended components and cable connections.
The plant technical team reviews the chosen execution against the installation documents. The final enquiry should connect those requirements to a full catalogue code and an explicit package of equipment and accessories.
Select cable glands with the cable data
For a Capri ADE enquiry, provide the cable construction, outer-sheath diameter and the enclosure entry thread with size and pitch. For armoured cable, include the armour type and the dimensions used by the selected gland table. A cable datasheet and an entry drawing are useful attachments.
List required accessories separately, including the locknut, sealing washer or earthing accessory where specified. Indicate whether the request is for an individual gland or a complete accessory kit. For multiple cable runs, prepare one row for each cable and entry combination.
The resulting table connects the cable, gland material, enclosure interface and quantity. It supports checking the sealing range and accessory package before the purchasing specification is agreed.
Configure a CEAG terminal-box assembly
Prepare a terminal schedule for a new GHG7 assembly. State the terminal types, conductor sizes, circuit references and any grouping or marking requirements. Add the entry layout on each enclosure face with the corresponding cable dimensions.
For a replacement, attach the existing label, general view and available factory schedule. For a new project, include an outline drawing and the installation-space constraints. Identify whether the requested supply is an empty enclosure, a terminal-equipped box or a complete assembly with glands.
This distinction determines the equipment boundary and the items to inspect on delivery. The technical team can compare the proposed configuration with the wiring documents and retain the final terminal schedule for future maintenance.
Specify Champ lighting and mounting
For new lighting, describe the installation location, mounting height, electrical supply and lighting task. Attach the site plan or fixture layout. State the intended fixing method and any optical requirements from the project. For a replacement, begin with the complete Champ fixture code.
List the mounting module and lighting block explicitly in the package. For a driver or another service component, identify the parent fixture and the part designation in its instruction sheet. Include guards or other accessories when they belong to the requested configuration.
For a batch, add the number of installation points and the accessory set for each location. This keeps the light fixture, electrical execution and mounting package connected throughout technical review and receiving.
Match both ends of a power connection
Provide the labels of both the plug and its mating receptacle. Include current, voltage, pole arrangement, cable construction and the mounting details of the fixed side. A photograph of the contact face helps clarify the configuration.
For CEAG, retain the exact IEC 60309 series and version. For Arktite, provide complete CPS and CPP designations. State whether one mating component is being replaced or a new pair is needed. Describe the connected equipment and the installation requirements.
A connection schedule can list the device, plug, receptacle, cable and quantity in one row. It allows the technical team to compare the complete pair with the existing circuit and identify the accessories required for installation.
Describe control-station functions
For EDS, EFS or EDSX stations, specify the function of each button, selector and pilot light. Add contact requirements, panel legends and the indication supply. Include the label and front-panel photograph of an existing station when requesting a replacement.
Describe enclosure requirements separately from the switching function. State the entry positions, mounting method, number of operators and connection to the motor starter or contactor. For a service component, identify its part number and the parent assembly.
For several similar stations, list differences in legends or contact functions by station reference. This creates a clear purchasing schedule that can be checked against the electrical drawing and used to verify each completed assembly.
Prepare a procurement enquiry
Send the equipment list, quantities, delivery destination and requested documents. A label photograph, drawing, catalogue extract or previous specification can accompany each line. For a new installation, add the operating conditions, electrical connections and desired package boundary.
Distinguish planned stock from the components needed for an active repair. Keep accessories linked to their parent products when an enquiry includes lighting, boxes, glands and connectors. This helps the technical team review complete configurations rather than disconnected product names.
Identify the technical-review and receiving roles in the enquiry. Following clarification, the agreed list should describe equipment, service parts and accessories separately, with enough detail to check the order before placement and the package after delivery.
Keep a useful receiving and maintenance record
Use the agreed specification to check product labels, catalogue numbers, quantities and accessory sets when the package arrives. For an assembly, identify the enclosure, glands, mounting parts and separate service items in the receiving list.
Retain the product designations and supplied documents with the plant equipment schedule. This record supports a future repeat order or maintenance enquiry. If a discrepancy is found, provide the package label, product marking and the affected specification line.
Store planned spares with a reference to their parent equipment and intended location. A later enquiry can then include the original code, package composition and replacement task, maintaining a clear link between procurement and the installed assembly.
Availability, price, delivery and documents are confirmed for the specific order. Official distributor status, compatibility by series name and suitability for an installation are not claimed. The configuration is agreed against the product documents and project requirements.
