Elmo Rietschle vacuum pumps, compressors and blowers
We select Elmo Rietschle equipment by flow, ultimate vacuum or pressure, medium and application: side channel, rotary vane, claw, screw, liquid ring and rotary lobe machines.

G-BH side channel blowers
Contact-free blowers and vacuum pumps for packaging, plastics, medical technology and woodworking. The family reaches 3,000 m³/h and 1,000 mbar, with more than 2 million units built. Selection needs flow, differential pressure and mains frequency.
G-BH1: 50–2450 m³/h, differential pressure up to 780 mbar

V rotary vane pumps
Oil-lubricated V-VC and V-VCS give deep vacuum for packaging, thermoforming, plastics and printing. Dry V-VTE, V-VTN, V-VTA and V-VTR run without oil in the chamber for drying, dust extraction and food processing.
V-VCB: 20–26.5 m³/h, 2 mbar, for small packaging machines

C claw pumps
Contact-free dry pumps with no oil in the chamber and air cooling; internal compression efficiency above 60%. Suited to woodworking, plastics, medical use, packaging and central vacuum systems.
C-VLR: 60–1140 m³/h, vacuum of 100, 150 or 200 mbar (abs)
C-DLR: 56–600 m³/h, overpressure up to 2.0 bar

S screw pumps
Dry screw pumps for packaging, drying, coating, vacuum furnaces, bottling and laboratories; no oil in the compression chamber. S-VSB suits aggressive media, S-VT is oil-filled for large flows.

Cooled and sealed by water, with no oil. Used in ceramics and brick production, drying, food processing, medical technology, plastics and environmental systems. Materials: stainless steel, bronze, ceramic and ceramic-coated cast iron.

R rotary lobe pumps
Dry positive-displacement pumps with contact-free three-lobe rotors; oil only in the gearbox and bearings. They work as a booster with a rotary vane, claw or screw pump to reach a deeper vacuum.
R-VWP: 500, 1000 and 2000 m³/h (models 501, 1001, 2001)

Ready-made systems and large blowers: PureVac on claw and rotary vane pumps, X-VSI for bottling, AGSS units for medical use and the F-RB radial blower. Custom systems run from pump supply to commissioning.

Elmo Rietschle is a brand of vacuum pumps, compressors and blowers that today belongs to Ingersoll Rand. The manufacturer describes eight technologies, more than 70 years of industrial vacuum experience and over 2 million side channel blowers built.
The catalogue is organised by technology: G side channel, V rotary vane, C claw, S screw, F radial, L liquid ring, R rotary lobe and systems.
How to choose a technology
An oil-lubricated V-VC rotary vane pump gives deep vacuum for packaging and thermoforming. Where oil in the chamber is not acceptable, dry V, claw C or screw S pumps are chosen. G side channel blowers give a large flow at a modest differential pressure.
An L liquid ring pump is cooled and sealed by water and tolerates small soft particles. For deeper vacuum at high flow an R rotary lobe booster is added: the R-VPR unit reaches 0.01 mbar (abs).
Applications by industry
Packaging and bottling: vacuum packaging, thermoforming, modified-atmosphere packing and tray sealing. Plastics: calibration, extruder degassing, EPS foaming, granulate conveying and drying.
Woodworking: vacuum clamping on CNC machines and dust extraction. Medical and dental: ventilators, dental suction, anti-decubitus mattresses. The manufacturer also names chemicals, electronics, vacuum furnaces and laboratories.
Oil-lubricated V and claw C model ranges
Oil-lubricated V: V-VGD 10–24 m³/h, V-VCB 20–26.5, V-VCA/VCE 25–30, V-VC100-150 about 120–180, V-VC400-500 480–659 and V-VC1100-1300 1320–1534 m³/h. V-VCX for wet processes has resin vanes and a larger gas ballast.
C-VLR claw pumps: 62/122 at 62–144 m³/h, 100/150 at 100–150, 251 at 260, 301/401/501 at 290–600, 1000 up to 1140 m³/h. C-DLR compressors give 1.8 to 2.0 bar; the combined C-KLR 80-140 covers vacuum down to −0.6 bar and pressure up to +1.0 bar.
Details that affect selection
G-BH1 is rated for 20,000 h between services, comes in IE3 and ATEX versions with IP 55 protection; G-BH8 is about half the size of a standard machine and nearly 60% lighter. In the S-VSI oil is limited to the gearbox and end seals.
L-BL2 with air cooling and a closed circuit delivers up to 1200 m³/h and warms up by no more than 15 K above room temperature. R-VWP 501, 1001 and 2001 have a 60 mbar bypass valve and weigh 141–360 kg without the motor.
What to include in an equipment enquiry
Name the process and medium, the required flow, ultimate vacuum or pressure, medium temperature, 50 or 60 Hz mains and any ATEX requirement. When replacing an installed pump, attach a photo of its nameplate.

Spare parts for installed equipment
For V pumps we select vanes, kits, oils and filters by model and kit code. For other series, give the model from the nameplate and the part you need.
On the manufacturer’s pages current designations (G-BH, V-VC, C-VLR, L-BV) appear next to older codes such as 2BH110 and 2BV2060, so quote what the nameplate shows.
