AC and DC energy meters
Match the network type, current measurement method and communication requirements. A 40 mA input differs from a 1 A / 5 A input. Modbus availability alone does not establish inverter compatibility; the register map and device version also matter.
SDM630MCT
A CT-operated version for 3P3W/3P4W systems. The catalog lists a 5 A input, pulse output and Modbus RTU. Match the measurement input and CT ratio when replacing it; check the 40mA and MV variants separately.
SDM120-M
A single-phase DIN-rail meter with 1P2W wiring, 45 A direct connection, pulse output and Modbus RTU. For replacement, provide the existing full model code, circuit ratings and register map used by the controller.
SDM36CT-M
A three-phase CT-operated meter with 1 A / 5 A inputs and RS485 Modbus RTU. SDM36CT-M 40mA is a different input version; identify the external transformers before selecting the replacement.
SDM630-EV V2
An EV metering version with 100 A direct connection and two RS485 Modbus RTU ports. Identify the charging controller and the data-exchange configuration required by the project.
SDM630MCT-40mA
A three-phase version for 40 mA external CTs, with pulse output and Modbus RTU. An inverter project also needs the inverter model, firmware version and intended meter location in the wiring diagram.
DCM230 / DCM232
DC meters with a 5–1000 V DC range, 75/60/45 mV shunt input, pulse output and Modbus RTU. DCM232 provides two channels. Include the shunt identification and current rating in the equipment specification.
DCM6-200 / DCM6-650
DC meter versions rated at 200 A and 650 A within a 150–1000 V DC range. Charging-station procurement requires the mounting arrangement, power connections and communication-port configuration.
Choose the equipment group
For consumption metering, start with SDM or DCM and define AC or DC operation and the connection method. Consider Smart X when the project requires network parameters and harmonic readings. If the instrument stays in place but an external sensor needs replacing, use the current-transformer group.
An ESP gateway transports data already measured by another device. The monitoring group covers projects with multiple measurement points. Time-delay and weekly-schedule tasks belong to ESRD and ESRS. This separates the required device from its function in the wider installation.
Specify an installed-device replacement
Photograph the front and side identification, terminal markings and the installation space. Transcribe the full model suffix. If the circuit includes CTs or a shunt, identify those components separately; the meter name alone does not define the complete measurement set.
State whether you need one instrument, a set with sensors or equipment for several identical panels. Describe an observed failure such as a blank display, missing communication or inconsistent readings. This helps distinguish a replacement purchase from a measurement-chain investigation.
Current input, protocol and scope of supply
Separate the primary current from the signal reaching the instrument. Inputs rated at 1 A / 5 A, 40 mA, 100 mA, 100 mV and Rogowski-coil inputs require the corresponding sensors. The power-circuit current rating alone does not specify the instrument variant.
For RS485, provide the protocol, addresses, speed and communication format. For Ethernet, define the device role and receiving system. List the meters, sensors, connecting cables, converters and mounting items actually required as separate entries in the scope of supply.
Inverter and charging-station projects
For an inverter, identify the exact model, software version and meter location in the power diagram. Include the supported-device list from the inverter documentation where available. Compatibility assessment concerns the specific device pair, including registers and energy-flow direction.
For a charging station, state AC or DC operation, the working range and power connection. Add any need for a separate display or multiple communication ports. Compare market-specific variants using the complete ordering code and project documentation.
Prepare a sourcing request
Send the ordering code or photographs, required quantity and delivery destination. If identification is incomplete, include the relevant wiring-diagram section and explain the device function. For a new installation, provide a specification with a separate line for each instrument type.
The quotation should be compared with the requested variant and set contents. State whether an alternative may be proposed for engineering review. For multiple panels, distinguish the quantity per panel from the total procurement quantity.
Quotation and project confirmation
Availability, price, lead time, compatibility and included components are confirmed for the selected variant after reviewing the request. No authorized-dealer status is claimed. MID, UL/ETL or PTB/Eichrecht identification must be checked against the exact instrument and project requirements.
