CHEMICAL PRODUCTION, UNITS AND PROCESS TECHNOLOGY

Haili Chemical production and process technology

Haili Chemical is 山东海力化工股份有限公司 (Shandong Haili Chemical Co., Ltd.), an integrated chemical plant in Zibo city, Shandong province, China. It was founded in November 2003 and operates on a single site: Dacheng industrial zone, Maqiao chemical park, Maqiao town, Huantai county, Zibo city. The official contacts published by the plant are 0533-8539366 and 0533-8534456, fax 0533-8538361, email haili@hailichemical.com and the website www.hailichemical.com. The English version of the site is incomplete: only the entry point /en/index.aspx and a few further pages work, and part of the text is untranslated. On this page we look at the plant as a chemical production site: which units and processes are confirmed by the company's own official documents. These are ion-exchange membrane electrolysis, named as the core process; the hydrogen peroxide unit, being converted from acid-alkali alternation to a fully acid process; caprolactam and adipic acid production; chlor-alkali with chlorine liquefaction and hydrochloric acid synthesis; RTO waste gas treatment and waste liquid incineration furnaces; four-effect evaporation and water treatment; the fuel-cell-grade hydrogen purification project; and associated thermal power with boilers and a generating unit. Each line is covered separately below, stating what is confirmed and what the manufacturer does not disclose. Let us state the main limitation plainly: the plant is not an equipment maker. Pumps, compressors, columns, heat exchangers, evaporators, furnaces and control systems are bought and operated by the plant — the project documents state directly that equipment is purchased and do not name the makers. The plant has no spare parts catalogue, article numbers or catalogue codes. That is why this page does not speak of "Haili equipment": it is about chemical production and the equipment that runs in it, not about machine tools or machines the plant supposedly manufactures. A word on namesakes, because Haili and 海力 are common Chinese names and the risk of mixing up the subject is particularly high here. The plant on this page works at hailichemical.com. Under the name HAILI, the domain haili-machine.com belongs to a machine tool maker producing press brakes, guillotine shears and laser cutting systems. Another company, Tianjin Haili Chemical, works at haili-chemical.com and sells chemical raw materials from Tianjin. Neither has anything to do with this site: this page is not about selling machine tools and not about trading raw materials, but about the chemical production of the plant in Zibo. The manufacturer declares no official presence, dealers or representations in Russia and the CIS, there is no Russian version of the site, and the export markets are listed without Russia and the CIS. Certificates EAEU, TR TS, CE, REACH, ATEX and FDA are not declared on the site or in the plant's documents. We work on sourcing and supply and do not describe ourselves as a dealer, an official supplier or a representation. Prices, lead times, payment terms, warranty and availability for items are not published on this page: those are terms of a specific quotation.

Choose a plant line

Below are the production lines, units and process loops confirmed by the company's official documents. Where information is confirmed it is stated directly; where specifications are absent this is said as well, and such items are not presented as confirmed. The plant publishes no unit models with technical parameters: confirmation goes by the specific process and the company's documentation. The plant neither builds nor sells equipment — it buys and operates it.

Haili Chemical: the plant and the units on its site

Haili Chemical is 山东海力化工股份有限公司, an integrated chemical plant. It was founded in November 2003 and operates on one site: Dacheng industrial zone, Maqiao chemical park, Maqiao town, Huantai county, Zibo city, Shandong province, China. The plant's products are ion-exchange membrane caustic soda at 32 % and 50 %, epichlorohydrin, adipic acid, hydrogen peroxide, caprolactam, cyclohexanone, liquid chlorine and nitric acid.

Start with the process and the product: what needs to be understood or selected — a unit, a section, a process step or a product as the output of production. State the product, the volume and the process requirements. Important: the plant does not build or sell equipment, it buys and operates it, so no models with technical parameters are published and selection goes by the process description and confirmed documentation.

Official product catalogue ↗

Ion-exchange membrane electrolysis

The plant names ion-exchange membrane electrolysis as its core process, and uses it to describe both its products and the environmental improvements on site. Caustic soda is built on this process: in the catalogue it appears as "32%&50% 离子膜烧碱", that is ion-exchange membrane grade. The whole downstream chain is tied to the chlor-alkali unit: hydrochloric acid is synthesised from chlorine and hydrogen taken from the existing chlor-alkali plant, and hydrogen is considered as feedstock for a separate purification project. The production chain the plant describes itself runs salt → caustic soda → epichlorohydrin → adipic acid.

To discuss this technology, state the product and the required concentration (32 % and 50 % are confirmed for caustic soda), plus the volume and the way product is taken off. Parameters of the electrolysers themselves, the membranes, rectifiers and brine circuit are not published: the plant operates and buys them. Ask about the process, not a model number — no confirmation will follow from a model.

Hydrogen peroxide unit

Hydrogen peroxide is produced in fixed-bed units. According to the plant's project documents the unit is being converted from acid-alkali alternation to a fully acid process. As part of the upgrade the old part of the section is dismantled — drying column, alkali separator, alkali settler, alkali evaporator and other alkaline equipment — and a hydrogenation column, oxidation column, purification column, working-solution regeneration heat exchanger, hydrogenation bleaching clay bed and pumps are installed in its place. In addition the project builds a working-solution preparation and regeneration section, an intermediate tank farm, product loading and raw-material unloading points, a collecting pond and a fire-fighting pump house; the DCS and SIS systems are modernised. The target product is 27.5 % hydrogen peroxide.

State what you need: the process and its stages, the composition of the sections, purity and stabilisation requirements, or handling questions for 27.5 % peroxide. The plant buys this unit's equipment from third-party makers and does not name them, so selection goes by the process description and confirmed documentation rather than by a column or pump brand.

Official catalogue: hydrogen peroxide ↗

Caprolactam and adipic acid production

Caprolactam and adipic acid are named by the plant among its main products, and both production lines are confirmed by project publications. The caprolactam workshop is named directly as a hydrogen peroxide consumer: the hydrogen peroxide unit upgrade serves that workshop. Adipic acid closes the chain the plant describes as salt → caustic soda → epichlorohydrin → adipic acid. In the site's product list from the clean production disclosure, cyclohexanone, hydrated cyclohexanone, nitric acid and hydrogen stand alongside them. The plant's units for these products are described in the projects through the equipment to be installed and dismantled rather than through brands and models.

State the product and its form, the required volume and the stage of interest: raw-material preparation, synthesis, purification, evaporation or packing. The manufacturer does not disclose the delivery forms of solid products (flake, granule, powder), so these are clarified separately. The plant publishes no unit models or suppliers of key equipment — it buys them and does not name the makers.

Chlor-alkali, liquid chlorine and hydrochloric acid synthesis

Chlor-alkali is the backbone of the Shandong site: feedstock for caustic soda and for further processing steps comes from this unit. The synthetic hydrochloric acid project states directly that chlorine and hydrogen from the existing chlor-alkali unit are the feedstock and that the product is hydrochloric acid: part goes to in-house calcium chloride production and part is sold. The same document describes the scope of the new unit: "two-in-one" synthesis furnaces and auxiliary equipment — a raw chlorine buffer tank, a steam evaporation tank, a film absorption column and a combined tail-gas absorption column. Liquid chlorine production is separately confirmed, together with a first-phase chlorine liquefaction upgrade and an energy-saving acceptance report.

For this chain state the product (caustic soda, liquid chlorine, hydrochloric acid, calcium chloride) and its requirements, plus the process stage. Note that part of the output feeds the plant's own downstream steps rather than being sold — the project documents say so. Capacities, furnace and column models and equipment suppliers are not disclosed by the manufacturer.

RTO gas treatment and incineration furnaces

The environmental loop of the Shandong site is described in detail in the plant's report. It names an RTO waste gas treatment system and a waste liquid incineration furnace: the furnace ran at 760–1000 °C on natural gas, oxidising organics (cyclohexanone, cyclohexene, cyclohexane) to carbon dioxide and water and converting hydrogen into steam. The report states that this furnace is now shut down and that volatile organic compound emissions have been moved to activated carbon adsorption. A separate furnace incinerates acrylonitrile waste liquid.

State what interests you: the treatment scheme, the composition of the absorption stages, furnace conditions, or replacing one treatment method with another. Some units on site are shut down and the report reflects that, so do not assume the described equipment still runs in its former configuration. The plant publishes no models, makers or burner parameters.

Evaporation, water treatment and recirculating systems

The plant's report lists energy-efficiency measures, and they show which systems exist on site. Named are an increase of the four-effect evaporation ratio, reconstruction of the pure water line and removal of the pure water transfer pump, electricity savings on the demineralised water tank pump, optimisation of the water treatment mixing basin process scheme, design and manufacture of a water treatment water seal, in-house modernisation of the secondary settling collecting basin lift pump, reduction of the chlor-alkali hydrogen compressor discharge pressure, reconstruction of the chlor-alkali evaporation workshop feed line, and condensate return via a deaerator. The report also mentions the east-zone refrigeration station, where the "large motor at low load" condition was eliminated.

Describe the task in process terms here: what has to be evaporated, at which concentrations and temperatures, what volume of water or condensate, and which quality requirements apply. The measures listed in the report are solutions in operation at the site, not an equipment catalogue: the plant publishes no brands of pumps, heat exchangers or evaporators.

Hydrogen, compressors and the purification project

Hydrogen is treated on site as a separate line. The report states that chlor-alkali hydrogen is currently vented to atmosphere and that the shut-down furnace is to be converted so that steam is produced from hydrogen. A separate project covers the integrated use of fuel-cell-grade hydrogen: the feedstock is by-product hydrogen from the existing chlor-alkali unit, and high-purity hydrogen purification units and the infrastructure of a hydrogen (mother) filling station are being built. The purchased equipment list names a dechlorination column, a heat exchanger, a deoxygenation column, an adsorption column, a compressor and distribution cabinets. Among the energy-efficiency measures, a reduction of the chlor-alkali hydrogen compressor discharge pressure is noted. This is a project: we do not present it as operating fuel-cell-grade hydrogen production.

State the hydrogen duty: fuel cells, process gas, steam from hydrogen, plus the required purity, pressure and volume. Note that purification and the filling station are a project rather than operating production, as the report reflects. Models of the compressors and columns and their makers are not disclosed.

Plant ESG report: hydrogen and steam plans ↗

Thermal power, steam and boilers

The site has associated thermal power generation, and the plant describes it itself. Publications on a solid waste utilisation project name 山东天源热电有限公司, which runs an existing boiler fleet and a generating unit with back-pressure turbines. The project concerns new construction inside that existing scheme: a bunker loading system is added in the enclosed coal store and domestically made equipment is purchased. This is a separate legal entity named in the plant's publications as related. The site's energy loop also mentions an east-zone refrigeration station and the chlor-alkali hydrogen compressor, as well as plans to produce steam from hydrogen.

For the energy loop state what you need: steam at given pressure and temperature, electricity, cooling, waste utilisation, or a closed steam loop. The manufacturer does publish capacities and quantitative equipment parameters in its reporting documents, but we deliberately do not reproduce them on this page: the processes matter here, not the summary tables. Boiler and turbine models and their makers are not disclosed.

Automation, instrumentation and control systems

The plant's report lists its control systems directly: DCS and SIS, with their modernisation included in the hydrogen peroxide project, as well as GDS, OA, ERP, MRP, an intelligent warehouse system and video surveillance. Automatic analysis of the extraction liquid and automatic control of the hydrogen peroxide loading unit are named separately. The hydrogen peroxide upgrade project states DCS and SIS modernisation explicitly among the works. This is a case where the task, not the instrument model, is the subject: which variables are measured, which loops are controlled and which interlocks the process safety requires.

Describe the automation task: measured variables, control loops, safety interlocks, the level of integration with existing systems. The plant publishes no controller, instrument or sensor models and names no makers. Confirmation is possible against the process description and the systems the plant names in its own documents.

Nitric acid production

Nitric acid is named among the products of the Shandong site, but the process loop of its production is disclosed in the public sources for a different legal entity. The concentration upgrade works are described for the 江苏海力化工有限公司 site (Dafeng, Jiangsu province): reconstruction of absorption, an air cooling and drying system, modernisation of the turbine vacuum system, reconstruction of the oxidation furnace, cooling of the absorption column process water and the tank filling suction, plus a pre-absorption column. Off-gases pass through selective catalytic reduction with ammonia, discharged through a stack 70 m high. We do not carry these data over to the Zibo plant: it is a separate company and we have no confirmation for it.

State the acid's duty, the required volume and the process stage. There is no confirmation of concentration for the Zibo plant: the described concentration upgrade works belong to the 江苏海力化工有限公司 site in Jiangsu, a different legal entity. The emission treatment scheme there is described as selective catalytic reduction with ammonia. The plant publishes no models of absorption columns or turbines, no equipment makers and no unit parameters.

Synthetic hydrochloric acid and calcium chloride

Two projects show how different processing steps are linked on site. The first is a new synthetic hydrochloric acid unit: "two-in-one" synthesis furnaces, auxiliary equipment for chlorine preparation, evaporation, film absorption and tail-gas absorption, and several construction phases; once running it yields hydrochloric acid, part of which feeds in-house calcium chloride production and part is sold. The feedstock is chlorine and hydrogen from the existing chlor-alkali unit. The second project is the upgrade of calcium chloride production from hydrochloric acid: dismantling of the reaction basin, a new reaction workshop, filter press area, raw material and solid waste stores, a fire-fighting pump house, and stormwater and emergency water ponds. To place the new unit the document describes neighbouring facilities: a distribution substation, the chlor-alkali unit, general-purpose facilities and vacant land.

State the product — hydrochloric acid or calcium chloride — the required concentration, the volume and the destination: in-house use or sale. The project documents split these two streams explicitly, and that affects the calculation. Models of the synthesis furnaces, filter presses and pumps, and the equipment makers, are not disclosed.

Which equipment operates on the site

It is useful to collect in one place which equipment types appear at all in the plant's publications, to give a picture of the site. These are pumps for various duties (including water seals, lift and fire pumps), compressors, columns (hydrogenation, oxidation, purification, dechlorination, deoxygenation, adsorption, drying and absorption), heat exchangers, synthesis and incineration furnaces, evaporators, reactors (polymerisation and stripping reactors at a related food latex site), tanks and tank farms, refrigeration stations, deaerators, filter presses, DCS, SIS and GDS systems, and distribution cabinets. An important caveat: the plant buys and operates all of this rather than manufacturing it — the projects state directly that the equipment is purchased, and the makers are not named. This is chemical production equipment, not the plant's own product.

If you are looking for a spare part for such equipment, we will say plainly: the plant neither makes nor sells it, it does not name the makers of its own equipment, and it has no spare parts catalogue or article numbers. What can be discussed is a process, a section or a process task — confirmation follows from those. Items whose maker is known should be sought from that maker, not from the chemical plant.

Clean production disclosure: site scope ↗

The plant's products as the output of these processes

The product range is what the described units produce. Confirmed by the official catalogue and the plant's documents: ion-exchange membrane caustic soda at 32 % and 50 %, epichlorohydrin, adipic acid, hydrogen peroxide and caprolactam, plus cyclohexanone, liquid chlorine and nitric acid. Food-grade caustic soda is described by the plant separately as a product distinct from the technical grade. Fuel-cell-grade hydrogen, synthetic hydrochloric acid and calcium chloride relate to projects and new units — we list them as projects rather than as current output. Confirmed concentrations: caustic soda 32 % and 50 %, hydrogen peroxide 27.5 %. The nitric acid concentration works belong to the 江苏海力化工有限公司 site in Jiangsu, a different legal entity.

For a product enquiry state the product, the concentration or grade, the delivery form, the packaging and the volume. Packaging is confirmed only for epichlorohydrin — galvanised steel drums of 200 kg. For other items the packaging, delivery form, grades and CAS numbers are not disclosed, and the plant publishes no safety data sheets (SDS/MSDS), so they are clarified during the quotation. Prices, lead times and payment terms are not published on this page.

What is needed to work through a process or a unit

Start with the product and its purpose: what exactly is produced or processed, and to what end. The process stage follows. For membrane electrolysis: the product and required concentration (32 % and 50 % are confirmed for caustic soda), the volume and the way product is taken off. For hydrogen peroxide: the concentration, the product stabilisation requirements, the composition of the sections and the storage conditions. For caprolactam and adipic acid: the delivery form (not disclosed by the manufacturer) and the volume. For chlor-alkali and hydrochloric acid: the product (caustic soda, liquid chlorine, hydrochloric acid, calcium chloride) and whether it feeds the plant's own downstream steps or is sold — the project documents split those streams. For nitric acid: the duty and the volume; the concentration cannot be confirmed for the Zibo plant, because the described concentration works belong to the 江苏海力化工有限公司 site in Jiangsu, a different legal entity. For power and steam: the required pressure, temperature and flow. It also helps to state the site constraints: available space, storage requirements, and whether a closed loop for steam or water is needed.

The plant's products and what is not disclosed

Products are the output of the described production lines, and the range is confirmed by the official catalogue: ion-exchange membrane caustic soda at 32 % and 50 %, epichlorohydrin, adipic acid, hydrogen peroxide, caprolactam, plus cyclohexanone, liquid chlorine and nitric acid. Food-grade caustic soda is described by the plant separately as a product distinct from the technical grade. Fuel-cell-grade hydrogen, synthetic hydrochloric acid and calcium chloride relate to projects and new units — we list them as projects. The only item with disclosed packaging is epichlorohydrin: galvanised steel drums of 200 kg. The plant's trademarks are 海力 (figurative), 海力美蓝, 海力神宇 and 天舟. What remains unconfirmed and is not claimed: the plant has no spare parts catalogue, article numbers or catalogue codes; CAS numbers, safety data sheets (SDS/MSDS) and batch quality certificates are not published; product grades, the delivery forms of solid products and the packaging of other items are not disclosed; technical parameters and equipment models are published by the manufacturer in its reporting documents, but we deliberately do not reproduce them on this page, and equipment makers are not named. Certificates EAEU, TR TS, CE, REACH, ATEX and FDA are not declared; the manufacturer declares no official dealers or representations in Russia and the CIS; and prices, lead times, payment terms and availability are not disclosed. The handling of batch documents is discussed separately during a quotation.

Send the process, the product and the task

State what is required: an analysis of a process, a unit or one of its sections, the plant's products as the output of production, engineering work on a specific task, or advice based on the company's confirmed data. Add the product, the concentration or grade, the required volume and the destination city, and for products the intended packaging. We will state what is officially confirmed and what needs separate checking: the plant publishes no unit models with technical parameters, there are no article numbers or spare parts catalogue, equipment makers are not named, prices, lead times and payment terms are not disclosed, availability and warranty are not published, no EAEU or TR TS certificates are declared, and there are no official dealers or representations in Russia and the CIS.
