GSR Ventiltechnik engineering foundation and Vlotho-Exter facility
German industrial enterprise Gesellschaft für Steuer- und Regeltechnik (GSR) was founded in 1971 by Wilfried Niemann in Bad Oeynhausen.
From its initial development stage, the enterprise dedicated its engineering efforts to specialized technical solutions across complex fluid valve technology for demanding operational requirements.
Consistent growth led to establishment of a modern manufacturing headquarters in Vlotho-Exter, North Rhine-Westphalia, where approximately 150 skilled specialists engineer and manufacture valves under the Made in Germany quality tradition.
Since 1999, GSR Ventiltechnik operates within the industrial group INDUS Holding AG in the Advanced Flow Technologies division.
Operational principles of series 52 direct-acting solenoid valves
In GSR series 52 direct-acting solenoid valves, repositioning of the sealing component occurs solely through electromagnetic force exerted by the solenoid plunger armature.
The valve reliably isolates fluid media without requiring any differential pressure across fluid ports, providing complete seal tightness from 0 up to 90 bar.
The mechanical assembly incorporates high-tensile stainless steel return springs alongside interchangeable poppet or conical seals.
Valve bodies are machined from brass or austenitic stainless steel, providing durability against pressure surges, mechanical debris, and chemical fluid degradation in industrial piping.
Mechanically assisted lift mechanism in GSR series 43 valves
GSR series 43 solenoid valves featuring a coupled plunger and flexible diaphragm unite the operational benefits of direct-acting and pilot-controlled valves.
Upon electrical excitation, the solenoid plunger lifts the pilot relief orifice and mechanically raises the center of the main elastomeric diaphragm from its valve seat.
This coupled kinematic action guarantees opening and positive shut-off both at zero differential pressure (such as gravity drains or vacuum lines) and under high fluid pressures reaching 16 bar.
The construction prevents diaphragm adhesion during extended idle periods, preserving high volumetric flow throughput.
Servo-operated series 40 valves for high volumetric flow handling
GSR series 40 servo-operated diaphragm valves leverage line fluid pressure differential between inlet and outlet pipe connections.
A compact low-power solenoid coil actuates only a miniature pilot relief path, enabling the fluid pressure differential above and below the diaphragm to lift the large-diameter main sealing element.
This design enables dynamic switching of substantial liquid and gaseous volume streams across pipelines sized DN15 to DN80 (G1/4 to G3) while consuming minimal electrical energy.
The valves require a modest minimum differential pressure of 0.3 bar and withstand operating pressures up to 20 bar in industrial water lines.
Extreme high pressure series 55 valves and hydrogen infrastructure
For severe operating parameters, GSR Ventiltechnik manufactures specialized valve series 55, 3/071, and 8/100 rated for pressures up to 900 to 1000 bar.
These models are produced from solid forgings of high-strength grade 1.4571 stainless steel or grade 1.4462 duplex alloy, providing resistance against hydrogen embrittlement.
GSR high-pressure valves serve in hydrogen refueling dispensers, compressed natural gas (CNG) filling stations, and high-pressure fluid test rigs.
Directly actuated executions and pneumatic pilot-assisted configurations are available to achieve fast emergency shutdown response within automated safety infrastructure.
Cryogenic 46TK models and high-temperature series 2/640 executions
GSR specialty valve series 46TK, K91, and 2/640 are specifically developed for critical thermodynamic temperature boundaries.
Cryogenic versions operate with liquid nitrogen, helium, argon, and liquefied natural gas at temperatures down to minus 196 degrees Celsius, featuring extended bonnets that prevent frosting on the coil.
High-temperature configurations equipped with extended stem spacers and graphite gland packings deliver reliable continuous performance with superheated steam, thermal oil, and hot flue gases up to plus 400 degrees Celsius.
Solenoid coils wound with Class H insulation maintain stable electrical characteristics under thermal exposure.
