BURKHARDT+WEBER equipment and assemblies

Specify BURKHARDT+WEBER horizontal machining centres and assemblies around the workpiece, operations and fixture. Send a drawing or technical brief.

MCX horizontal machining centres

MCX uses roller guides. Start an equipment enquiry with the part envelope, fixture and machining sequence. The model designation is then checked against the spindle, axis travel and pallet configuration.

  • Models MCX 800–2000
  • MCX 800 travel: 1250 × 1000 × 1250 mm
  • MCX 800 pallet: 800 × 800 mm
  • Enquiry: drawing, fixture and annual output

MCT milling and turning centres

MCT combines milling, drilling and turning. An equipment specification should describe which operations remain in one setup and how the part is clamped. Distinguish the tilting spindle, turning-tool holder and torque table.

  • Models MCT 800, 900, 1000, 1200, 1250
  • NC-controlled tilting spindle
  • Torque-driven milling and turning table
  • Enquiry: operations, clamping and cycle target

MCR centres for heavy cutting

MCR uses wide, laser-hardened sliding guides. For an equipment project, describe the material, interrupted cuts and finishing requirements. For an installed machine, separate mechanical wear from lubrication or control symptoms.

  • Models MCR 800–1600, including MCR 1100
  • Wide sliding guides
  • MCR 1100 spindle: 52 kW, 1720 N·m in the S1 table
  • Enquiry: workpiece, material and operations

MCµ precision machining centres

MCµ combines mineral casting with active temperature control. A project enquiry should include the measurement method, temperature conditions and fixture concept alongside the drawing. A part tolerance is assessed as part of the process.

  • Series for high-precision machining
  • Structures incorporating mineral casting
  • Active temperature control
  • Enquiry: tolerance chain and measurement plan

MCC 630 and MCC 800

MCC can operate as a standalone machine or within a production line. Choose the configuration around the part and loading method, then check the spindle and pallet interfaces. Pallet size alone does not establish compatibility.

  • Formats MCC 630 and MCC 800
  • MCC 630 travel: 1100 × 900 × 1100 mm
  • MCC 630 standard pallet: 630 × 630 mm
  • Enquiry: loading method and fixture layout

Machining heads and special equipment

BW special equipment includes heads, tool storage, quill units and boring-bar feed systems. Define the required operation and access to the workpiece before choosing an option. An existing assembly must be checked by its own documentation.

  • Background magazine: up to 3000 tools
  • Automatic tool extension by 350 mm
  • Quill extension: up to 1000 mm
  • Enquiry: operation, interfaces and layout

Start with the machine identity

Send a complete photograph of the machine nameplate and a separate image of the assembly label. The model, serial number and configuration code should be readable. Include the relevant parts-list page and item position where available.

If the part number is unknown, describe the installation location and function. A wider photograph connects the label to the assembly. SpareX uses this information to define the enquiry before comparing configurations or preparing the requested scope.

Define the production task

For a machining-centre project, provide the component drawing, material, blank weight and overall dimensions. State the fixture weight separately because the pallet carries both. Describe the datums, tool access and surfaces that should be machined in one setup.

Add the intended annual output, batch sizes and operation sequence. These inputs make comparisons relevant to production. For a replacement-part enquiry, identify the installed assembly and quantity instead of preparing a complete machine specification.

Specify the spindle and head

A spindle enquiry should include the assembly label, tool interface and installation drawing. For a swivelling head, identify the axis, the position at which the symptom occurs and the coolant connections. List the components expected within a replacement assembly.

Refurbishing an existing unit and selecting a replacement require different evidence. Inspection findings help define repair work. Replacement selection needs mounting dimensions, connections, sensors and control information.

A photograph of the housing is useful context but does not establish the required configuration.

Check pallets and workholding

Describe the pallet format, locating arrangement and combined weight of the part and fixture. Photograph the receiver and the clamping-unit label. A hydraulic connection drawing should identify the ports and applicable operating parameters.

For a pallet-change problem, state whether it occurs during approach, locating, clamping or position confirmation. Include the complete control message.

This separates the mechanical enquiry from a possible sensor, hydraulic or sequence issue and helps define which assembly needs further examination.

Describe tool handling

Identify the magazine configuration and the mechanism involved in the enquiry. Include the item number from the drawing, toolholder type and installation location. A close image of the gripper should be accompanied by an overall view and readable label.

For tool-loading requirements, provide tool mass, length and the moment around the gripping point. Drive or sensor enquiries benefit from the wiring diagram and connector images. Distinguish tool storage from the transfer mechanism so the requested scope includes the relevant assembly.

Document controls and electrical parts

For a control module, provide the full label, version and connector photographs. Copy the complete alarm code and message. Explain when the symptom appears and which changes preceded it, without replacing the operator or maintenance instructions.

For an older module, include the cabinet diagram, installed component list and software information. Matching connectors do not prove functional compatibility. Preserve the existing configuration and describe the available backup.

Agree the required technical information before sharing a larger set of machine files.

Set a measurement plan

Where accuracy is central to the project, state the measured feature, required tolerance and observed deviation. Include the measurement method, temperature and warm-up conditions. Separate cold and operating-condition results when those records are available.

Workholding, tools and repeatability also belong in the assessment. A symptom list helps define the enquiry but does not replace inspection.

For a new centre, describe the intended acceptance component and measurement responsibility so the requested machine specification and process verification remain connected.

Agree the project scope

List the base machine, spindle configuration, pallets, tool system and automation requirements. Identify workholding, measurement, program preparation and operator training as separate scope items. State which tasks your own team already performs and which are required within the project.

Give each item an expected output and an interface owner. This makes competing proposals comparable. The same principle applies to a single spare part: identify the component, fasteners, cable, seals and documentation separately where they are required for installation.

Prepare installation and acceptance

Provide the workshop layout, unloading access and connection points. Identify height, access and floor-loading constraints. Foundation and utility requirements should be checked against the selected configuration before the installation arrangement is agreed.

Define the acceptance scope in advance, including the item list, documents, test conditions and responsible parties. For a spare part, state how the receiving team will verify the marking, dimensions and transport condition.

Packaging and nameplate photographs help connect the received item with the agreed specification.

Send an equipment enquiry

Select the relevant series and add your drawing or short specification to the form. Keep different machines separated by serial number in a parts list. This prevents identically named components from being combined across different configurations.

State quantities, a technical contact and the delivery destination. For equipment, identify priority operations and the required scope; for parts, mark the most urgent positions.

SpareX can then clarify the technical inputs and prepare an enquiry around the requested machine, assembly or production task.
