BWO Elektronik

BWO Elektronik CNC systems

Define controls and components for BWO Elektronik equipment using the machine configuration, operator requirements and peripheral equipment list.

VEKTOR C / CT compact CNC

BWO describes C / CT as a compact control with an integrated PLC. Define the machine configuration and installed panel version before selecting a control package or a replacement module.

  • Compact VEKTOR architecture
  • Integrated PLC
  • Configuration by machine requirements

VEKTOR 906 control systems

The VEKTOR 906 combines an operator interface with a compact control package. BWO specifies up to 32 axes and 8 channels for the applicable performance level.

  • Up to 32 axes and 8 channels
  • Performance level defines capacity
  • Compact machine control package

VEKTOR 921 modular CNC

VEKTOR 921 separates the HMI from the cabinet controller. BWO describes an expandable configuration of up to 128 axes and 32 channels. Specify the actual chassis and module arrangement.

  • Separate HMI and cabinet control
  • Up to 128 axes and 32 channels
  • Expandable modular arrangement

VEKTOR MC mobile control

BWO specifies a portable control unit with a 10-inch resistive touchscreen for VEKTOR MC. Match the mobile unit, cable and cabinet connection when defining the equipment package.

  • Portable control unit
  • 10-inch resistive touchscreen
  • Match the cable and cabinet interface

VEKTOR RC app-based CNC

VEKTOR RC uses an application on a Windows desktop PC or notebook connected to the machine network. Define the cabinet control hardware separately from the operator computer.

  • Operation through a Windows PC
  • Control hardware in the cabinet
  • Define network and operator requirements

Start with the machine and its process

Describe the machine operation and the functions that the control system needs to coordinate. Include motion requirements, auxiliary processes and the operator working position. BWO presents VEKTOR as a combination of configurable software and hardware.

A useful enquiry therefore starts with the machine requirements and a defined equipment list. This gives the purchasing team and the project engineer the same scope to assess.

For an existing installation, attach the electrical drawings, drive information and cabinet photographs. For a new machine, include the planned equipment arrangement and installation constraints. Distinguish the control functions from the physical components you want quoted.

If the project covers several machines, identify the requirements of each one separately and keep their component references consistent.

Choose the control architecture

The choice between a compact arrangement and a modular cabinet system depends on the machine layout and the required functions. VEKTOR C / CT and 906 provide compact approaches.

VEKTOR 921 separates the HMI and cabinet controller, with an expandable configuration described by BWO as supporting up to 128 axes and 32 channels. The actual equipment configuration should follow the project requirements.

State the required axes, channels and peripheral devices in the technical specification. For an installed system, provide the module labels and their positions. For a new cabinet, include the planned layout and operator station.

Identify future machine changes that are already part of the project, so the equipment list can be assessed against a clear scope rather than an unspecified expansion requirement.

Define the operator station

Explain where the operator works and which actions need to be available there. For a fixed station, describe panel installation and the required machine operations. BWO describes VEKTOR MC as a portable unit with a 10-inch resistive touchscreen.

Its equipment scope should include the mobile unit, the connecting cable and the cabinet connection as separate items.

VEKTOR RC uses an application on a Windows desktop PC or notebook within the machine network. Specify the operator computer and the cabinet control hardware separately. Include the required screens, user roles and operating tasks in the enquiry.

For an existing machine, describe which parts of the current interface need to remain and which functions are to change.

List I/O and peripheral equipment

BWO describes digital and analogue VIO modules with 16, 32 or 64 channels. Begin the equipment enquiry with a signal list and the devices connected to it. Keep the component identifiers from the electrical drawings.

For a replacement or extension, attach clear photographs of the installed module labels and a view of the surrounding arrangement.

Separate electronic modules, cables, mating connectors and items that the customer will provide. Describe additional signals as a distinct project group. This makes the scope easier to compare with the proposed equipment list.

When more than one machine uses similar modules, identify the destination of each item and the relevant drawing reference instead of grouping different versions under one description.

Prepare a retrofit specification

For a machine upgrade, list the equipment that will remain and the components that are to be replaced. BWO describes retrofit solutions for older controls, including specific Lorenz machine applications. Assess an enquiry against the actual machine model and installed configuration.

The existing drawings and component list help define the new equipment scope.

Explain the required operating behaviour after the upgrade and the operator interface expectations. Identify available configuration backups and machine documentation. Treat component procurement and engineering work as separate parts of the project.

This gives the project team a clear basis for assigning installation and commissioning responsibilities. To begin, send the machine model, control photographs and a description of the production task.

Make the equipment list reviewable

List the controller, HMI, modules and connecting components individually. Give each item a quantity, reference and intended function. Distinguish equipment for a new project from replacement parts for an installed machine.

If the customer supplies part of the package, mark those items clearly and retain their relationship to the machine drawings.

For multiple operator stations or machines, include a table linking each control package to its destination. Provide software configuration requirements as a separate document. Keep the same item numbering when comparing offers or revising the specification.

This allows procurement and engineering colleagues to follow changes in quantity, component version and package scope without losing the original machine references.

Plan quotation and shipment

SpareX reviews equipment and component enquiries for industrial projects. State the destination country and city, receiving party and equipment scope. A structured list with the technical specification helps identify the information still required before a quotation can be prepared.

Packaging and transport arrangements are considered with the selected equipment and route.

Explain whether the project requires one consolidated shipment or delivery in defined stages. The quotation schedule is discussed after reviewing the available information and configuration questions.

Before confirming the order, compare the item references, quantities and intended use against the agreed specification. Include requests for accompanying materials in the original enquiry so they can be considered with the equipment package.

Receive and hand over the equipment

Prepare the expected equipment list before receipt. Compare the item identifiers, quantities and package contents against the agreed specification. Record the labels and visible condition of the equipment, and retain packaging until the receiving check is complete.

For a control package, check the modules and connecting items individually instead of recording only the main controller.

The project engineer defines installation and commissioning procedures using the equipment documentation and the machine condition. Component delivery, installation and production acceptance are separate milestones.

Retain the final equipment list and the link between each item and its installation position. Use these references with the machine model and current configuration when preparing a subsequent replacement or expansion enquiry.
