  • Turning, milling and boring: up to 4 axes
  • EDM and grinding: up to 3 axes
  • Request: readout and sensor designations

Specify the control package around the machine

Start a new equipment enquiry with the machining process, machine arrangement, axis and spindle configuration, and the required operator station. Identify the components already selected by the machine builder.

A system request should describe its boundaries: CNC, drives, power modules, feedback devices, cables and accessories. This makes the quotation a defined package that can be compared with the project specification.

For an existing machine, include the builder and model, available drawings and the identification of the installed control. State whether the project concerns a complete control package, a spare module or a planned upgrade.

Build a clear bill of materials

List each required item on its own line with the complete designation, quantity and intended machine position. Use separate lines for a control unit, operator panel, drive, power supply, encoder, reader head and cable. Identify accessories that must be supplied with the main item.

A photograph of an assembled system can help explain the application, while the bill of materials defines the actual order.

Number supporting photographs and drawing pages to match the enquiry lines. This keeps similar components from different machines separate throughout technical clarification and quotation review.

Choose linear feedback by travel and mounting

Provide the encoder designation, required measuring travel and a mounting drawing. Show fixing distances, the reader head position, cable outlet direction and the available installation space. Label dimensions on photographs when the original drawing is unavailable.

Housing length and measuring travel should be identified separately in the technical enquiry.

State whether the new component must use the existing mounting points or whether the machine project allows a revised bracket. For a long scale, include any handling or packaging length restrictions before the shipment is planned.

Identify the absolute feedback interface

An absolute encoder request needs the complete sensor designation and the intended control input. Include the cable identification and any adapter installed between the encoder and the control. Keep every suffix visible in the original code when transcribing the nameplate.

The electrical interface is part of the equipment specification.

For a new machine, attach the electrical designer’s requirements. For a replacement, provide the relevant wiring page and photographs of the existing connection. Mark a simultaneous change of control and feedback as a system project so that it is reviewed as a complete configuration.

Define incremental output and resolution

Record the output signal and resolution from the documentation of the actual encoder version. Add the receiving device designation and connector photographs.

A useful request combines the feedback device information with the control input requirements, rather than identifying the scale only by its length.

Where records are incomplete, send all available nameplates, cable codes and connection drawings. Specify whether the requested assembly includes the reader head and cable.

Keep alternative versions on separate enquiry lines so that the quotation can identify exactly which configuration has been considered.

Review angular mounting and connections together

For an angular feedback unit, send photographs from the shaft side and connector side, mounting dimensions and the connection arrangement to the machine mechanism. State whether the delivery includes a coupling, flange adapter or cable.

If a drawing shows several versions, mark the version required for the project.

For replacement work, show the installation area and adjacent parts. These materials help the technical team review the mechanical arrangement and electrical identification together before a supply specification is agreed.

Prepare drive and power module information

Identify the requested axis drive, spindle drive or power module with a readable nameplate. Include the corresponding motor designation and a photograph of the cabinet arrangement. Describe the component’s place in the control system and attach the relevant schematic page when available.

For a spare module order, state the installed version and quantity. For a machine project, list the required package and accessories. If the enquiry follows an equipment failure, include the complete displayed fault code and the circumstances observed by the responsible maintenance team.

Separate hardware supply from commissioning

A control replacement project should identify both the hardware to be supplied and the work required at the machine. Provide the existing control composition, panel arrangement and connected peripheral devices.

Include software or hardware versions that can be read through the equipment’s documented functions.

The machine owner’s technical team should arrange preservation of machine parameters, programs and settings according to the applicable documentation.

List configuration transfer and commissioning requirements separately in the enquiry, so that the delivery scope and the on-site responsibilities can be agreed before ordering.

Operator panels and cabinet integration

When ordering a display, keyboard or operator panel, provide front and rear photographs, identification labels and connection details. State whether a complete panel, a keyboard or an electronic module is required.

Include the mounting cutout and fixing drawing for integration into an existing console.

For several similar panels, label the photographs by machine and enquiry line. This allows each configuration to be reviewed individually while retaining a clear relationship to the intended installation position and the accessories listed in the quotation.

Order cables and connectors explicitly

A cable enquiry should include its identification, length and photographs of both ends. For a connector, show the contact side and the marked designation. Where an adapter is present, describe the full connection sequence rather than only one end of the assembly.

Identify the purpose of the connection and whether the order replaces a complete cable set or a specific section. New machine projects should include routing and connection requirements from the electrical designer. List the required accessories as separate items in the bill of materials.

Document the existing generation before an upgrade

For an earlier Fagor control, including an installed 8055 system, provide the precise model and the identification of the component being considered.

A series name is useful for locating documentation, while the actual project also needs the machine details, required function and existing configuration.

Explain whether the objective is to preserve the installed arrangement, hold a spare or prepare an upgrade. Proposed changes should be described for the machine owner’s technical review before a decision is made on a different component or system package.

Select a readout around the application

For a digital readout package, state the machine operation and the required axis arrangement. Include the designation of the connected encoders and their cables. When replacing a display, photograph the current readout and the rear connections as well as the machine identification.

For a new installation, describe which measuring devices and mounting parts are already available. Identify whether the scope covers the display alone or a package of readout, feedback devices, cables and brackets. This keeps the delivered set aligned with the actual installation task.

Provide useful maintenance information

Describe an observed fault as a sequence of events: which machine function stopped, what message appeared and what had changed before the event. Attach a complete screen photograph, component identification and the related documentation page.

The equipment owner’s maintenance findings help define the enquiry.

If the task includes a repair or diagnostic assessment, state the machine location and whether the component can be removed. Keep the requested spare item distinct from the technical assessment so that the parties can agree the work and the supplied hardware separately.

Agree packaging and shipment details

Identify the destination, receiving requirements and any constraints affecting a long linear scale or a fragile electronic panel. State whether the shipment is for a single maintenance item or a multi-line equipment package.

Packaging and the accompanying document set should be agreed for the specified goods and destination.

During receiving inspection, compare each label and accessory with the agreed specification. Retain photographs of the packaging and product identification until the inspection is complete. Refer any discrepancy to the relevant enquiry line with a clear description and supporting images.

Prepare a technical enquiry that can be reviewed

Attach a readable nameplate, full part code, quantity and description of the intended use. For a system project, add the machine specification and the list of included devices.

If a code is partly unreadable, mark the uncertain characters and include the original photograph alongside the transcription.

Provide a convenient contact and state whether the full bill of materials must be quoted together or whether individual lines may be clarified separately. This keeps the technical exchange focused on the information needed to define the supply package.

Review the supply scope before ordering

Compare the proposed item codes, quantities and included accessories against the original bill of materials. Keep the technical identification of each item alongside its machine position. For a new project, review the quotation with the responsible electrical and mechanical designers.

Confirm the agreed delivery scope and responsibilities in the order documentation. After arrival, provide the equipment documents to the team responsible for installation and commissioning. Use the documentation of the specified machine and component version when preparing the installation work.

We do not claim authorised dealer or service status. Availability, price, lead time, item condition, replacement compatibility, export shipment terms and documentation are confirmed for the specified package. Earlier-generation support and exchange units require separate agreement.
