DIESSE Fluid Control level gauges and valves

Specify a DIESSE glass or magnetic level gauge, instrument valves and accessories for your process. Send the model, technical specification or installation drawing.

Reflex gauges and BGR glasses

Select a DS LG reflex gauge or replacement glass by the complete assembly designation. Its prismatic wetted surface produces a dark liquid area and a light gas area for direct visual level indication.

  • DS LG-RBR, RBF, RCF and other variants
  • BGR glass in types A and B
  • Type A width 30 mm; type B width 34 mm
  • Specify code, glass size and section count

Transparent gauges and BGT glasses

A transparent gauge holds liquid between two smooth glasses. This construction allows observation of fluid colour or an interface. Specify protective shields together with the glass and sealing arrangement.

  • DS LG-TCR, TCF, TMF and other variants
  • BGT glass in types A and B
  • RMMS mica shields
  • MICA or PCTFE protection to suit the fluid

Tubular and weld-on level gauges

The LG-TVR glass tube gauge and RCW/TCW weld-on designs require different installation details. Provide a vessel drawing, connection positions and dimensions when requesting an assembly or replacement.

  • DS LG-TVR with GR18 or MT18 cocks
  • Glass tube: 16 mm diameter, 2.5 mm wall
  • DS LG-RCW / TCW weld-on designs
  • Carbon steel or stainless steel weld-on body

DS MG magnetic level gauges

A magnetic float inside the bypass chamber drives an external roller display. Gauge and float selection depends on fluid density, operating conditions and the specified connection centre distance.

  • DS MG-DS BP and DS MG-DS MP
  • Flanged and threaded configurations
  • Standard chamber in AISI 316L
  • Float in AISI 316L or Titanium Grade 2

Level switches and transmitters

Choose a limit switch for discrete level events or a transmitter for continuous readings. Define the output, measuring range and installation conditions separately from the mechanical gauge specification.

  • TIM NSB 1240: bistable SPDT contact
  • DS LTM-MTU and DS LTM-MIU
  • Magnetostrictive sensing, 4–20 mA output
  • HART communication on DS LTM-MIU

Shut-off cocks and gauge valves

Specify gauge isolation, drainage or a seal kit as a separate line item. Distinguish the level gauge valve assembly from an independent pressure gauge connection cock.

  • GR18 and MT18 shut-off cocks
  • DS D12 and D18 cylindrical plug cocks
  • DS PM18 three-way manometer cock
  • SHV valves, DHV drain and DHVS vent valves

Needle valves and instrument siphons

For instrument connections, specify needle valves and DS TC siphon coils by function, material, thread and connection orientation. These coils are pipe components for pressure instrumentation.

  • DS NV and heavy-type DS NV HB
  • NV M2S, M2P and M3F manometer variants
  • Needle valve range: class 3000 psi
  • DS TC in steel, stainless steel or copper

Gaskets and maintenance kits

Order glass with its sealing and cushion gaskets, and valve seals for the correct assembly. Material suffixes and size designations distinguish replacement parts that may look similar.

  • JGG / JGH / JGP / CGA glass gaskets
  • BB18 and BB12 plug cock seals
  • AA16 connection pipe packing
  • GSM47 and AA20 components for DS SHV

Identify the gauge before selecting a replacement

Send the nameplate, assembly and component photographs. Include section count and connection positions. Identify whether you need glass, a valve or a complete gauge.

Copy the full designation with material codes and suffixes. For a new installation, provide a vessel drawing and viewing requirements. Link photographs to item numbers.

Glass dimensions and section length

DIESSE glass sizes 1–9 cover glass lengths from 115 to 340 mm with a thickness of 17 mm. Type A and type B identify different widths. Read the complete size designation together with the gauge model before preparing the replacement list.

The visible length, glass length and metal body length are different measurements. Provide them separately, or attach a dimensioned sketch showing the measurement points. For multiple sections, identify the number of identical sections and the number of glasses to replace.

Match the viewing principle to the application

A reflex gauge indicates the liquid boundary through optical contrast. A transparent design supports observation of colour or the interface between two immiscible liquids. Describe what the operator needs to observe so that the proposed construction addresses the actual process task.

If replacing a cloudy or damaged glass, state the fluid and operating conditions. For a transparent assembly, identify any protective shield already fitted. Keeping the glass, shield and gasket details together makes the maintenance scope clear in the purchase specification.

Define gaskets and maintenance quantities

Each glass requires a sealing gasket and a cushion gasket. A reflex section uses one glass, whereas a transparent section uses two. Calculate the list from the gauge construction and section count, rather than relying on an undefined request for one complete kit.

State the existing gasket code or the relevant parts drawing reference. Glass gaskets and valve packing belong to separate component families. Record the material suffix as well as the size, and keep each requested seal associated with the assembly where it will be installed.

Specify isolation and process connections

For a valve assembly, record the connection type, nominal size, material and orientation. Photographs of both connection points and a drawing of the mating parts are useful when the old marking is unreadable. Identify whether the request concerns a complete body or individual maintenance components.

Isolation, drainage and venting are different duties. List them separately and include the required operating handle or accessories. An instrument needle valve or manometer cock also needs its own connection arrangement; matching thread dimensions alone does not define the complete item.

Configure a magnetic gauge and float

Magnetic gauges are built to the customer’s specified connection centre distance. Supply this dimension together with liquid density, operating pressure, temperature and connection positions. These inputs define the selection task for a complete gauge and for a replacement float.

When requesting a float, include the installed gauge model and any marking on the old component. The external display photograph does not identify the internal float by itself.

List isolation valves, drain, vent, calibrated scale and electronic accessories as separate options in a new assembly request.

Choose discrete signals or continuous output

Define whether the control system needs a level limit event or a continuous measured value. TIM NSB 1240 provides limit switching, while DS LTM-MTU and DS LTM-MIU provide continuous measurement. Supply the required output and, for replacement work, the existing wiring diagram.

Record the measuring span, power supply and environmental conditions. For additional limit switches, locate the switching points relative to the process connections.

This connects the automation requirement to the actual mechanical arrangement and prevents an electronic accessory from being specified in isolation.

Tubular and weld-on installation details

For a tubular gauge, distinguish the glass tube dimensions from the overall assembly height. Identify the GR18 or MT18 cock arrangement and any external protective guard. A view of the existing installation helps show available space and the position of the connections.

The manufacturer identifies steam, vibration and impact exposure as restrictions for the glass tube construction. Include these conditions when proposing a new installation.

Weld-on RCW/TCW designs require the vessel drawing, wall material and installation details to be assessed with the party responsible for the vessel.

Prepare the process specification

Collect fluid name, density, viscosity, working and design pressure, and working and design temperature in one enquiry. Mark steam service, temperature changes and any interface observation requirement separately. Keep units beside every numerical value and identify the process point on the drawing.

A general catalogue pressure rating is not a substitute for the specification of a selected assembly. Material, connections and operating conditions must be considered together. For an existing boiler or tank, include the equipment model and the gauge reference from the original parts list.

Create a clear purchasing list

A useful enquiry table includes item number, complete designation, quantity and drawing or photograph reference. Separate glasses, gaskets, protective shields, valves and electronic accessories into individual rows. An existing manufacturer’s bill of materials can be attached directly.

If several gauges use identical parts, state the number of gauges and the contents of one maintenance set. If their configurations differ, preserve the connection to each nameplate. Indicate whether the purchase is for maintenance stock, an installed unit repair or a new equipment package.

Check the quotation and incoming items

Compare item descriptions, sizes, materials and quantities with the original enquiry before confirming an order. Any proposed configuration change should be visible as a separate line so that the agreed scope remains clear during purchasing and receipt.

On delivery, compare the package and component markings with the approved list. Inspect the packaging and the surfaces of fragile items, keeping documents associated with their item numbers. Installation and maintenance follow the instructions for the specific gauge.

For a discrepancy, provide the item reference and photographs of the marking and packaging.

Equipment and spare parts supply

Equipguo handles enquiries for DIESSE level gauges, instrument valves and maintenance components. Send a specification, an existing product code or a drawing through the enquiry form. The technical scope can begin with the information already available and be completed during selection.

State quantities, destination and delivery requirements. Identify priority shutdown items separately from routine stock.

Availability, price, lead time, documents and compatibility are assessed for the specific enquiry; official dealer or authorised service status is not claimed. The manufacturer lists DS BDV/BDVPA as discontinued, so requirements for an installed unit are considered separately.
