dbx audio equipment and replacement parts
Select dbx audio processors, sound system equipment and replacement components with SpareX. Send the model, connection drawing and requirements for the equipment package.
DriveRack PA2
A loudspeaker management processor for the signal path between a mixer and amplification. Specify PA2, the power version and the installed unit when requesting equipment or a replacement component.
- Two line inputs and six outputs
- AutoEQ and AFS feedback suppression
- Ethernet control
- Send the speaker layout and rating label
DriveRack VENU360
Consider VENU360 when the installation needs several input signals and separate output paths. Record the complete model version, input sources and destination channels before selecting a unit.
- Three analog XLR inputs
- Six analog XLR outputs
- AutoEQ, AFS and network control
- Identify the complete version on the label
166xs dynamics processing
A two-channel analog compressor, limiter and gate. For an installed unit, send the full model marking and photographs of the front panel and connections; for a new system, describe its signal path.
- Two channels: Stereo or Dual Mono
- OverEasy or Hard Knee compression
- Expander/Gate and PeakStop limiting
- Specify signal level and connection method
286s microphone preamp processor
A channel strip for a microphone or line signal. Describe the source, the connection to the next device and whether an external processor will be connected through the Insert socket.
- Preamplifier plus four processing sections
- Compressor, De-Esser and Enhancer
- Expander/Gate and +48 V phantom power
- Insert socket for an external processor
131s, 215s and 231s equalizers
Select a graphic equalizer by its channel count and frequency bands. A component enquiry also needs the exact unit model, the component marking and clear photographs.
- 131s: one channel, 31 bands
- 215s: two channels, 15 bands
- 231s: two channels, 31 bands
- Switchable ±6 or ±12 dB adjustment range
223s, 223xs, 234s and 234xs crossovers
Divide an audio signal into bands for separate loudspeaker paths. Specify the operating mode, band count and connectors when choosing equipment; include the full model suffix for parts.
- 223s/223xs: stereo two-way or mono three-way
- 234s/234xs: stereo two-way or three-way
- 234s/234xs: mono four-way
- Retain the s or xs suffix in the request
AFS2 feedback suppression
A dedicated processor for microphone channels or the overall system. The enquiry should identify whether it will use mixer inserts or sit in line between mixing and amplification.
- Mixer Insert or in-line connection
- Rear-panel +4/-10 level selection
- Wizard setup procedure
- Send the mixer channel and system layout
ZonePRO zone processors
For routing audio sources to different areas of a building. Provide a source list, zone layout and complete model number; a wall-controller enquiry needs its own marking and connection details.
- 640/641 and 1260/1261 families
- Separate versions with the m suffix
- Independent source routing to zones
- Support for ZC wall panel controllers
Identify the complete dbx model
Start with clear photographs of the front panel, rear panel and rating label. Include the product family, complete model code and quantity in the enquiry. A suffix on the installed unit is part of its identification.
If a component carries a separate code, record that code alongside the equipment model.
For a replacement project, show where the processor sits in the rack and which devices connect to it. Keep small markings readable. A wide photograph explains the installation, while a close photograph provides the details needed to discuss the exact unit or component.
Describe the system before selecting a processor
List the audio sources, mixer, processing devices, amplification and loudspeakers. A simple connection drawing should name the input and output paths. State which devices will remain in service and which are included in the replacement enquiry.
This gives the equipment list a clear purpose for each position.
Distinguish a like-for-like system requirement from an expansion project. Additional zones, new source signals or another control position should appear as separate requirements.
For several installations, describe the differences between sites instead of assuming that the same equipment list fits every room.
DriveRack equipment for loudspeaker management
For a DriveRack enquiry, describe the source signals, destination paths and loudspeaker arrangement. Include the exact installed version when replacing equipment. If the project needs network control, explain the intended connection and the devices used for operation.
The system drawing is useful alongside the model marking.
For a component request, identify the actual part rather than using the processor family as a part number. Include photographs of its marking, connections and mounting. A complete processor, a replacement module and an accessory should be separate lines in the requested equipment list.
Separate dynamics and microphone processing
State where a dynamics processor will be inserted in the signal chain and whether channels need independent operation or a shared stereo task. For a microphone channel strip, identify the microphone or line source and the following device.
Include any intended external processing connection in the drawing.
Describe the purchase as a complete device, a replacement component or a set for several workstations. Keep the quantity of each position explicit. For installed equipment, a technician’s component list and clear model photographs help turn an initial problem description into a specific enquiry.
Graphic equalizers and crossover selection
For an equalizer, begin with the channel and band requirements. For a crossover, identify the operating mode and the separate loudspeaker paths. Include the exact model and suffix of any existing unit. A photograph of the rear-panel connections provides useful context for equipment replacement.
If the request concerns a slider, switch or another component, add the component marking, mounting details and photographs. The rack dimensions alone do not identify a part. Describe whether the task needs one device, several matched positions in a system or a single replacement component.
Feedback suppression in the actual signal path
Identify whether the feedback processor is intended for individual microphones, a group of channels or the complete sound system. Show the mixer connection points and any existing processing devices.
The connection method should be included in the enquiry, alongside the complete processor model and quantity.
If the request is for an installed unit, describe the required component separately from the overall system task. Include a technician’s findings where available.
Keep an observed symptom and an identified defective part as separate pieces of information so the enquiry accurately reflects the work already completed.
ZonePRO equipment and wall controllers
List the audio sources, destination zones and control positions in the building. Identify the main processor and every wall panel already installed. Keep the complete model suffix in the equipment list.
A zone plan and photographs of the existing connection points help describe the installation clearly.
For a new control point, state its intended role, such as source selection or zone level adjustment. Record the location and quantity of each requested panel.
If the project extends an existing installation, mark the added zones and controllers so that the new equipment list remains distinct from the retained system.
Power version and installation details
Photograph the rating label of the installed equipment when requesting a replacement unit. For a power-related component, include its own marking, connections and physical mounting information.
Distinguish the external cable or accessory from an internal assembly and identify which position is actually required.
The equipment list should show accessories separately from the processor. Indicate what is already present at the site and what is requested for the new installation.
Include the available rack space and relevant mounting photographs when those details affect the composition of the equipment package.
Replacement parts and component identification
For a board, provide the unit model, board code, revision and photographs of both sides. For a connector or control, record its marking, mounting and connection points. If several labels are present, keep them visible rather than selecting one before the component has been identified.
Group each replacement part under the equipment in which it is installed. A technician’s diagnostic report or component schedule can accompany the enquiry. When reordering a previous position, send its full description and explain any changes to the installed equipment or requested package.
Prepare an equipment enquiry for SpareX
Send the complete model, quantity, intended application and destination. Attach the system layout for equipment selection and component photographs for parts. List equipment, replacement components and accessories on separate rows.
Include a technical contact who can answer questions about the installation and clarify the requested scope.
For several buildings or workstations, organize the schedule by site, room or signal path. Show the retained devices and the requested additions.
After the initial technical review, the item list and package contents can be agreed for each position without losing the relationship between a component and its installed equipment.
Availability, price, delivery, documentation and compatibility are confirmed for the specific enquiry. This page does not establish official dealership, certified service status or identical specifications for every dbx version.
