Start with the equipment family

Deschtone covers high voltage switching, motor starting and industrial drives. VDST and DSTVC are switching families, DMVS580A and DLS600 provide soft starting, while TYP and DIV800 belong to the motor and drive package.

Specify a complete device, a configured cabinet or a replacement component. For a new installation, provide the technical specification and supply scope. For a repeat purchase, retain the complete designation and quantity,.

Keep the complete equipment designation

Retain every letter, number, slash and suffix in the code. DMVS580A-315/06 and DMVS580A-1000/10 identify different entries in the manufacturer selection table. Breaker enquiries also need current ratings, mounting arrangement, operating mechanism and secondary connections.

Provide an overall view, a close photograph of the label and the equipment position inside its cabinet. If the label is damaged, add the equipment schedule and marked drawing reference. Distinguish nameplate values from dimensions measured on site and link each attachment to its list position.

Describe the power and control circuits

Power circuit voltage, control supply voltage and frequency are separate entries. Record the units and provide the relevant diagram.

A breaker requires its secondary connection information, a contactor requires the control circuit, and a starter requires the motor, bypass and supervisory connections.

Keep terminal markings and wire numbers visible in photographs. If the installation has been modified, send the current drawing revision. List commands received by the device and states or alarms required by the plant control system.

Define the load and operating duty

Identify the driven mechanism, such as a pump, fan, compressor or production machine. Provide rated motor power and current, the operating duty, start frequency and stopping requirement. For a switching device, describe the load characteristic and the role of the circuit in the installation.

A reconstruction enquiry should include the existing supply diagram and site constraints. For several motors, prepare a separate line for each mechanism,. Keep the measured operating data separate from the manufacturer ratings so the requested configuration can be understood correctly.

Check installation and mechanical connections

A replacement needs a mounting drawing, terminal arrangement and available installation space. A fixed breaker and a withdrawable breaker have different installation requirements.

For a motor, record the shaft, flange, feet and terminal box position separately, together with the mechanical interface to the driven equipment.

Include photographs from several sides and a view of the installation location. Mark dimensions directly on the drawing. If only one assembly is required, show its connections to the remaining equipment and preserve the identifiers of adjacent components.

Specify starting, bypass and cabinet scope

DMVS580A, DLS600 and XL serve different starting applications. XL includes an internal bypass; for another installation, describe the bypass circuit that is actually used. Motor power should be accompanied by its rated current and voltage, with the expected starting and stopping requirements.

List the starter, switching devices, control equipment and cabinet separately. Identify installed equipment and the items included in the new order. When replacing a unit, provide the previous model and the signals used by its control system.

Coordinate motor feedback and communication

For a synchronous drive, identify the motor, converter and feedback arrangement. Provide the designation and connection diagram of position or speed feedback devices where fitted.

Describe speed regulation and positioning requirements as separate functions, with information about the existing controller and machine.

List communication interfaces and the required signals to the supervisory system. XL is described with RS-485/Modbus, while an iVDST specification should list the required monitoring functions and devices.

A family name does not replace the detailed function list for a configured project or the current connection drawing for a replacement.

State the installation environment

Describe ambient temperature, room conditions, installation altitude and enclosure requirements. The IP20 panel rating stated for DLS600 does not define the protection of a finished cabinet.

For equipment inside an existing cell, provide its ventilation arrangement and the available maintenance access.

Separate requirements for the electrical device from requirements for its enclosure. A motor replacement should include cooling arrangement and the working environment of the mechanism.

Review these details together with ratings, mounting and duty, and mark which conditions apply to each device when several locations are covered by the enquiry.

Prepare a consistent supply schedule

Use one schedule containing the complete designation, item name, quantity, installed equipment and drawing position. Separate cabinets, breakers, contactors, starters, motors and control assemblies. Use the same position numbers in drawings, photographs and the requested supply list.

State whether the request repeats an existing configuration or concerns a new project. Include drawings, documentation requirements and delivery location. Before ordering, compare the agreed codes and supply scope against each schedule line.

For a new installation, add the single line diagram, load schedule and cabinet layout, identifying the equipment retained on site.

Availability, price, lead time, documents and compatibility are checked for the specific enquiry. This page does not establish official dealer or authorised service status, a universal energy saving figure or identical ratings for every configuration.
