Cla-Val automatic control valves run on line pressure alone: the diaphragm assembly is controlled by pilots and needs no external power. We select valves and components by model, size and pipeline duty.
Hydraulically operated, diaphragm actuated main valve built from three major components: body, diaphragm assembly and cover. The diaphragm assembly is the only moving part, so the valve is serviced without removal from the line.
Main valve versions for pump service and reverse flow protection. The 100-02 Powertrol adds an intermediate chamber for smooth pump start and stop without pipeline surge.
The 600 Series versions are rated for higher working pressure and are used in high head pump systems. They share the same body platform as the 100-01 main valve, so renewable parts are interchangeable within the series.
Reduce downstream pressure and hold it steady regardless of flow and upstream pressure. The valve runs on line pressure alone and needs no external power.
Hold upstream pressure and relieve excess pressure, protecting pumps, fittings and pipelines from surge in upset conditions.
The setpoint is set by the pilot spring and stays constant as flow changes. For large pressure drops the KO anti-cavitation trim splits the flow and protects the seat and disc from erosion.
Hold a set level in tanks and elevated reservoirs, closing when the level is reached and reopening as it falls, without external power.
The level setpoint comes from a CDS pilot or a float pilot mounted on the tank. The valve closes gradually, so no surge is created in the supply line and the tank does not overflow.
Float pilot controls the main valve from the liquid level and needs no electricity. Used in open tanks and in closed pressure vessels.
The float pilot is mounted on the tank and linked to the main valve by tubing. It reacts to level rather than pressure, so the assembly works without electricity or level sensors.
Protect the pump and pipeline from surge at start and stop. Opening and closing rates are set by a solenoid pilot and separate adjustable flow controls.
The solenoid pilot is wired to the pump starter: on shutdown the valve closes before the pump stops, so the pressure wave never reaches the impeller.
Limit flow to a set value regardless of pressure swings in the network, and blend two streams in a set proportion.
Flow is limited by a pilot with a throttling adjustment. When network pressure falls the valve opens slightly, when it rises the valve closes down, holding flow at the set value.
Automatically release air from the pipeline and prevent vacuum build-up during filling and draining. Installed at high points, near pumps and along long runs.
The valve discharges large air volumes while the pipe fills and small volumes in normal operation, which lowers line resistance and pump power demand.
Allow flow in one direction and close without slam, combining drip-tight shut-off with low head loss.
Disc and duckbill designs are installed on pump discharge lines: closure happens before reverse flow develops, so no shock is transmitted to the pipeline.
Deluge and on-off valves for fire protection systems: they open on a solenoid or pilot signal and fill the distribution piping.
Deluge valves serve water and foam suppression systems: water cannons, tank cooling rings and helipad deck integrated fire fighting systems.
Electronic pilots replace hydraulic setting: the setpoint comes as a signal and the valve acts on pressure, flow or level.
The electronic pilot runs on 24 V AC or DC and reports valve position to the control system through a standard 4-20 mA signal.
We supply replacement components listed in the manufacturer parts list: diaphragm, disc, seat, spring, cover, stem and fasteners. Selection is made from the valve nameplate and item number.
For electronic versions we also supply position and pressure transmitters, solenoid pilots and cable entries. Replacement parts are selected from the valve code on the nameplate.
Selection needs flow rate, upstream and downstream pressure, line size and material, temperature and the nature of the medium. From these data we define the series: pressure reducing, sustaining, level control, pump control, rate of flow or fire protection. Cavitation risk at high pressure drop is checked separately and the KO anti-cavitation trim is specified where needed.
Valves are supplied with their pilot piping: needle valves, strainers, check valves, pressure gauges, position and pressure transmitters. For pipeline installations we arrange packaged stations, single line and with bypass. This shortens site installation and simplifies maintenance.
The 100-01 main valve is built from body, diaphragm assembly and cover, with the diaphragm assembly as the only moving part. The nylon-reinforced rubber diaphragm does not wick water and the disc seats on a renewable seat. Bodies are cast in the manufacturer own foundries in more than fifty alloys, and every unit is factory tested.
Selection is based on the manufacturer catalog sheets, bulletins and purchase parts lists. Technical documentation for the supplied models is handed over with the equipment. For valves already in service we supply diaphragms, discs, seats, springs, stems and repair kits; orders are built from nameplate data and the item number.
We are neither a distributor nor a representative of Cla-Val: the brand channel in Russia is run by the manufacturer European partner, which is why some positions appear in Russian catalogs under the dual designation Hawle Cla-Val. The manufacturer does not publish a single price list covering every catalog number; catalog sheets, engineering bulletins and purchase parts lists are available per model. Prices and lead times are established when a specific position is quoted, and factory warranty terms and certificates for specific versions require separate confirmation.
