PRESSURE CONTROL

Mooney pressure regulators

Specify Mooney regulators for the project duty and existing line arrangement. Identify replacement parts from the regulator and pilot markings and applicable drawings.

Regulator families and components

Separate the main regulator, control pilot, shutoff device and internal parts. Attach the project data sheet for new equipment or the installed documents for replacement.

Flowgrid pilot-operated regulators

Flowgrid is a pilot-operated regulator family. Identify the main regulator and pilot separately, retaining full nameplate references and the installed connection arrangement. For a complete assembly, define which components belong in the supply.

For a replacement part, attach the applicable drawing and identify its item number.

FlowMax regulators

FlowMax is designed for a self-contained pilot system. Provide the product identification, serial number and connections shown on the nameplate. Distinguish a complete regulator, an actuator assembly and individual internal parts.

Include the relevant manual revision so the drawing reference identifies the intended component.

FlowMax HP configuration

Keep HP in the complete designation. Submit the installed nameplate or project specification and identify the required pilot configuration. If the site uses both FlowMax and FlowMax HP, keep their parts lists separate.

A shared family name does not define the replacement component for a particular unit.

Flowgrid Slam Shut devices

Identify whether the shutoff device is a separate unit or integrated into the regulator arrangement. Provide the project’s pressure-monitoring requirement, equipment marking and connection drawing. For replacement components, indicate the device section and drawing item.

Keep the protective function distinct from the pressure-regulating duty.

Flexflo 900TE regulators

Flexflo 900TE is presented as a top-entry, pilot-operated regulator for gas and liquid applications. Identify the actual service in the project requirement and provide the full configuration.

Replacement components should be linked to the installed 900TE documentation, including the specified material and drawing item.

Series 20 and 20L pilots

Identify the pilot independently of the main regulator. Preserve the full model, suffixes, marked range and connection arrangement. State whether the requirement covers a complete pilot or components from its parts drawing.

Include the main regulator designation and define any connecting items required with the pilot.

Flexflo Model 887

Model 887 is documented as a surge-relief device and should remain distinct from the 900TE regulator. Provide its own nameplate and project function.

Use the applicable Model 887 documentation to define the complete equipment or replacement-part request, keeping each component associated with its drawing reference.

Diaphragms, seals and internal components

For each component, identify the main regulator or pilot, complete part reference, documented material and quantity. If requesting a maintenance kit, provide its manufacturer number and contents list.

Where a kit reference is unavailable, list the required components individually so the scope can be compared consistently.

Selection inputs

Service medium, inlet and outlet pressures, flow, temperature, connections and process duty. Keep different operating cases separate and retain the units.

Parts for an installed regulator

Complete model, serial number, drawing item, documented material and quantity. Identify the pilot separately from the main regulator.

Mooney equipment and the procurement task

Mooney is part of the Baker Hughes valve portfolio. Its equipment includes Flowgrid, FlowMax and Flexflo regulators, control pilots and shutoff devices. Begin by defining the project task: a new pressure-control position, replacement of an installed assembly, or replenishment of maintenance parts.

Separate the main regulator, pilot and protective device in the equipment list.

Identify the process line and equipment tag associated with each request. This is particularly useful where similar units operate in parallel or in different sections of the installation.

Preserve the manufacturer on each nameplate when an enquiry also includes Masoneilan, Becker or Consolidated equipment. Their common group membership does not define component interchangeability.

Project inputs for a new regulator

Provide the service medium, inlet and required outlet pressures, flow requirement, temperature, connections and project function. Keep units alongside every value. Where operating conditions vary, list the relevant cases separately rather than replacing them with a single nominal figure.

Attach the project data sheet and identify any fields still awaiting confirmation.

Include the installation drawing and the required connection arrangement. State whether the equipment is for a new line or must fit an existing position. For a replacement, identify the piping dimensions and access constraints that need to be retained.

A site photograph supports the drawing, while the dimensions and documented requirements define the physical arrangement.

Use one controlled data sheet for quotation comparison. If the operating requirement or equipment scope changes during clarification, issue a revised version and identify the amended fields. Retain the final regulator, pilot and accessory list together.

Identifying an existing installation

Provide an overall photograph and readable photographs of the regulator and pilot nameplates. Retain the complete model, serial number, size and connection markings.

The FlowMax manual identifies fields including the FM product reference; copy the installed information accurately and preserve the source units.

Record the site equipment tag next to the manufacturer’s reference. For several units, use that tag in the parts list and attachment filenames. If a marking is incomplete, record the visible characters and attach an existing data sheet or previous confirmed specification.

Keep unavailable information distinguishable from confirmed equipment data.

Main regulator, pilot and connections

For Flowgrid or FlowMax equipment, identify the main regulator and pilot as separate components. Provide the applicable connection diagram and state which existing items will remain installed.

Define whether the request is for the regulator alone, the pilot alone or the assembled system with connecting components.

A pilot request should retain its full Series 20 or 20L designation and any additional suffixes. For an internal component, attach the pilot’s own parts drawing.

An item name in the main regulator manual may refer to a different assembly and should not be used without checking its documented relationship.

For tubes, fittings and other connection items, identify both ends and the required drawing reference. List the items included in the proposed scope explicitly, keeping them separate from components already available at the site.

FlowMax HP and protective equipment

Preserve HP in a FlowMax HP request and keep its documentation separate from other FlowMax configurations. Where both versions are installed, group maintenance requirements by the complete equipment designation.

A replacement-part enquiry should identify the installed unit and the drawing that defines the required component.

For Flowgrid Slam Shut, identify the separate or integrated arrangement and the protective duty stated in the project. Attach the device marking and the applicable schematic.

Keep the pressure-monitoring requirements in the controlled project documents so each proposal addresses the same equipment function.

For a planned shutdown, distinguish essential repair components from additional stores stock. Associate each item with the installed device and the relevant maintenance list.

Procurement information should preserve the operating organization’s requirements for subsequent setting, inspection and return to service.

Flexflo model and service

Keep the complete Flexflo model in the enquiry. The 900TE regulator and Model 887 surge-relief device address different equipment tasks and should have separate lines in the specification. Identify the intended function from the project schematic, then provide the nameplate and corresponding manual.

For a 900TE application, state the actual gas or liquid service and supply the documented operating conditions. For an internal element, retain the material designation and parts-list reference.

A photograph of the removed item can support identification, but should remain associated with the complete equipment reference.

For Model 887, retain the project requirement for its surge-relief duty. Specify the main unit and any additional components separately. For a repeat purchase, attach the previous confirmed specification and identify precisely which scope is to be repeated.

Maintenance parts and kit contents

Each maintenance line should include the equipment tag, complete model, drawing item, part description and quantity. Preserve documented materials for diaphragms and seals. Broad descriptions such as rubber seal or regulator diaphragm should be expanded using the applicable parts list.

Where a factory kit reference exists, provide the full number and the document listing its contents. For a site-defined maintenance set, list the components individually and distinguish the number of sets from the quantity of each part.

Keep different installed configurations separate even when internal warehouse descriptions look similar.

Documents and receiving the equipment

List the documents required by the operating and receiving teams before the order is finalized. Include any relevant language, marking and equipment-reference requirements. For several units, provide a consolidated table with complete designations, quantities and attachment names.

On receipt, compare markings and contents with the agreed specification. Check different configurations separately and retain the accompanying documents against the equipment tag. Preserve the final part numbers for subsequent replenishment and repeat purchases.

To start an enquiry, send the nameplates, the requested component or equipment scope, quantities and a work contact. Add the project data sheet for a complete assembly and indicate the delivery destination. If some positions are more urgent, identify them within the same controlled list.

Confirmation of scope

Availability, price, lead time, distributor status, certificates and compatibility are not stated in advance. Configuration, supply scope and documents are confirmed for the specific enquiry.

Send the technical requirement

Send the project data sheet, equipment markings or parts list. Include a work contact, delivery destination and priority positions.
