Product families
Choose the application, then identify the family and exact model. The cards distinguish published product characteristics from the information needed for selection. For new equipment, send a specification; for replacement, send the installed product marking. Preserve the full designation and required package contents. For multiple positions, retain separate lines and quantities rather than combining products with similar names.
KH hydraulic-cylinder position sensors
KH is a rod-style magnetostrictive sensor for installation in hydraulic cylinders. The manufacturer states resolution down to 0.5 µm and pressure up to 35 MPa, with threaded mounting, diagnostic LEDs and position and speed measurement. The flexible measuring core is replaceable.
For a complete sensor, provide the full order code, stroke, thread, output and position magnet. For a core inquiry, include the existing sensor marking and installation drawing.
Distinguish resolution from the other measurement requirements in your specification; the stated resolution alone does not define the accuracy of the complete machine or every available execution.
KP, KD and KF installation formats
KP uses an aluminium profile with clamp mounting and supports up to 20 magnets. KD separates the electronics from the measuring element, with a connecting line up to 5 m. KF uses a flexible rod and provides measuring lengths up to 22000 mm. These designs address different installation arrangements.
Specify the mounting space, measurement length, number of magnets and output signal before comparing variants. For replacement, include the complete installed code and the mechanical drawing.
A profile sensor, remote-electronics sensor and flexible long-stroke sensor should not be treated as interchangeable solely because they use the same measurement principle.
GC, GB, GM and GK protected designs
The GC, GB, GM and GK direction uses stainless-steel housings. GC and GK have threaded mounting, while GB and GM use flange mounting. GM lists M16 / M12 connectors and GK an axial cable exit.
Select the installation interface and connection arrangement from the actual drawing, then specify the medium and operating environment. For replacing an installed unit, photograph the mounting and connector as well as the nameplate.
Similar stainless housings do not establish the same thread, flange or output. Include the full order designation so the requested mechanical execution can be matched to the installation.
MH, MS, MT and MG mobile hydraulics
MH specifies a 48f7 mounting diameter. MS uses a 28f7 mounting diameter and a minimum rod diameter of 7 mm. MT provides redundant output, while MG is listed for pressure up to 50 MPa. Select by the cylinder installation and required channels, not by the mobile-machine application name alone.
Include the cylinder drawing, pressure conditions, complete sensor code and electrical interface. For a service replacement, identify the existing seating dimensions and retained magnet.
The maximum pressure stated for MG should not be transferred to the other families without the corresponding specification for the exact execution.
LH, LF, LC, LG, LK and LP level
LH uses a SUS304 rod and combines level and temperature measurement with two floats. LF has a flexible corrosion-resistant rod up to 20000 mm. LC lists PP / PVDF / PFA materials and analogue output or RS485 Modbus. LG adds an LCD for level and temperature; LK uses a flange and LP a clamp connection.
Start with the liquid, temperature, pressure, insertion length and whether one level or an interface is required. For float replacement, provide the installed sensor and float markings. Material, connection and float arrangement must all follow the actual vessel and medium.
FM, FH and FS explosion-protected designs
The FM, FH and FS range uses stainless-steel housings. FM offers flange or threaded mounting; FH uses threaded mounting with axial or radial cable exit; FS is a compact threaded design.
For a hazardous-area requirement, supply the full required protection marking and installation conditions, together with the medium, mounting and output signal. The general family name is insufficient to confirm the required execution and documentation.
For replacement, retain the complete nameplate wording and order code. Identify any cable entry or connector requirement separately so the requested arrangement matches the existing installation and its documented specification.
TC redundant position measurement
TC provides two or three independent measuring channels, threaded mounting, a quick-replacement construction and independent LEDs. Define the number of channels and each channel’s signal rather than requesting redundancy as a general feature.
Include the complete order code, stroke and mechanical interface. For an installed sensor, provide the control-system input requirements and identify which existing cables and magnets will remain.
A request for a replacement unit should preserve the channel arrangement; a different number of channels changes the connection and integration task even if the external sensor envelope appears similar.
Flat Shell and Push Pull
Flat Shell uses a floating or sliding magnet and clamp mounting. Push Pull uses a rod-and-cylinder mechanical arrangement with spherical joints. Selection therefore begins with how the moving part is connected to the measurement system.
Provide the mounting drawing, stroke, magnet or joint arrangement and output signal. For replacement, include overall dimensions and the existing full designation. Keep a magnetic non-contact arrangement distinct from a mechanically linked push-pull installation.
If the drawing is unavailable, photographs of both mounting ends and the movement path help identify the configuration that must be checked before a specific product is proposed.
Order code and mechanical installation
For replacement, preserve the whole marking, including output, stroke and suffixes, and attach the label photograph. Mark the installation thread or flange, measuring length, housing clearance and cable direction on the drawing.
A hydraulic-cylinder application benefits from the seating drawing and magnet position relative to the measuring rod. For an external profile sensor, identify the clamps and magnet count. For a level sensor in a vessel, add the process connection and insertion length.
Describe the electrical output separately from mechanical dimensions. If a code is partly unreadable, supply the remaining characters and machine documents without inventing the missing suffix; these inputs narrow the exact execution before quotation.
Magnets, floats and measuring cores
The manufacturer describes a replaceable measuring core for KH, position magnets for profile arrangements and floats for level sensors. Tie an accessory inquiry to the specific sensor and full order code.
State whether the requirement is for the measuring element, magnet or a package including mounting items. For a float, add the medium, temperature, dimensions and available marking. For a cable, provide both connector ends and the documented connection diagram.
Identify serviceable parts that remain installed and the quantity of each requested item. Accessible markings and drawings are sufficient to start an inquiry; dismantling a sound assembly merely to take photographs is unnecessary. Diagnosis or repair of a complete sensor is a separate scope.
For new equipment, start with the mounting drawing and controller input requirements. Define the stroke, number of measured positions or independent channels, environment and installation location. A vessel application also needs process conditions and connection details.
For replacement, preserve every character of the order code and provide the label photograph; a dimensional drawing helps compare the seating and connection direction. If an alternative execution is acceptable, identify which parameters may change and which must remain fixed.
For several sensors, use a table organized by installation position, so differences in stroke or output remain visible throughout the inquiry.
Parts and package scope
A magnet, float, measuring core and cable serve different maintenance tasks. Each line should identify the host sensor and available component marking. Give the drawing position separately from quantity.
A float needs medium details, a cable needs its connector and diagram, and a core needs the complete sensor execution. For a full replacement, list the components retained on the machine. Separate availability and package contents are confirmed during quotation.
Diagnosis of a fault, repair and supply of a known component should be distinguished in the inquiry. If documentation differs from the current installation, attach both and describe the changes already made.
Send the model or specification
Send the complete designation, quantity and destination, together with photographs and available documentation. Identify mandatory characteristics and whether an alternative is acceptable.
