Albright contactors

DC contactors, reversing assemblies and disconnect devices. Select a device or component package by circuit, load and coil requirements.

Product families

Choose the product direction by the task, then identify the family and exact execution. A family name starts the search, but quotation requires the actual installation data. The sections below separate principal ranges, service components and inquiry details. For several machines, list them separately with the quantity of each item. Keep a complete unit request distinct from maintenance consumables or an individual replacement component.

SW80 and SW84

SW80 is a normally open contactor; SW84 uses a changeover SPDT arrangement. The SW80 thermal ratings are 100 A interrupted and 125 A uninterrupted. These figures describe heating conditions, not universal breaking capacity.

For an existing installation, provide the complete suffix, coil voltage and circuit diagram. A shared SW80/SW84/SW88 spares sheet identifies service components.

SW180 contactors

SW180 has thermal ratings of 150 A for interrupted duty and 200 A for uninterrupted duty. Magnetic blowout options affect switching characteristics and must be checked for the selected variant. Specify control voltage separately from battery voltage.

For replacement, include terminal orientation, mounting dimensions and the installed code; for repair, mark the required items on the SW180 spares sheet.

SW200 contactors

SW200 thermal ratings are 250 A interrupted and 400 A uninterrupted. A high continuous current rating alone does not establish the ability to interrupt a particular DC load. State the supply voltage, current profile and duty cycle, then compare the relevant manufacturer data.

The inquiry should also identify stud spacing, cable lugs and any separately required contact kit.

SU80, SU280 and SU400

These normally open, single-pole families have interrupted/uninterrupted thermal ratings of 150/200 A for SU80, 250/350 A for SU280 and 350/400 A for SU400. Select a complete variant rather than a family name alone. Identify coil requirements, auxiliary contacts, space and connections.

If replacing another series, supply both drawings and the operating conditions for comparison.

Motor reversing assemblies

The reversing range includes DC88, DC182, SW66, SW88, SW182 and SW202. Manufacturer applications include winches and direction control. Selection starts with the motor circuit, not merely the machine power. Include terminal count, coil markings and existing interconnections.

For a complete assembly, identify which bridges and supporting components are required and which will remain in the installation.

Protected P Types

Protected P variants serve environments requiring a sealed enclosure. The catalog lists SW80P and SW82P as IP66, DC66P and DC182P as IP67, and DC88P as IP66. These ratings apply to the listed products, not every Albright contactor.

Include photographs of the enclosure, cable entries and mounting position; enclosure similarity does not establish electrical interchangeability.

Emergency disconnect devices

The manufacturer publishes spares sheets for ED125, ED250, ED252 and ED402, plus SD150A in the combined disconnect range. For a device or service component, state the full type, electrical conditions and handle arrangement. Use the drawing to identify an individual part.

An equipment safety function must be assessed within the complete machine circuit and its requirements.

Contact and coil components

Service inquiries can cover fixed contacts, moving contacts, coils or an identified assembly. Match the drawing position to the full contactor designation before defining the package. A coil requires its own marking and duty information, while a contact kit requires a precise component list.

Availability and kit contents are checked during quotation, even where a spares sheet remains published.

Coil supply and duty

Coil voltage and main circuit voltage are separate selection inputs. Photograph the whole label, including small print and suffixes, and state the voltage actually applied to the control terminals. Add energization duration and any electronic control or suppression components.

These details help distinguish variants that look alike but are intended for different control arrangements.

Current profile and switching

A motor starting event, continuous operation and a reversing cycle place different demands on the contactor. Provide supply voltage, starting and running currents, cycle duration and switching frequency. The continuous thermal rating is not a substitute for the breaking characteristic.

A circuit diagram and the installed device datasheet provide a useful basis for selecting the required electrical variant.

Terminals and mounting

Record the distances between power terminals and mounting holes, cable approach direction and available clearance. Include auxiliary blocks and bridges already fitted to the device. Dimensions should be compared with the drawing of the exact suffix.

If a new arrangement is acceptable, describe the permitted changes instead of assuming that a different model fits the existing bracket and cables.

Earlier contactor families

Published spares sheets also cover SW62A/SW70A/SW117, SW65/SW75/SW118, SW100, SW101/SW102 and SW112/SW112A. An older document can help identify a part without proving current supply. Send the nameplate, existing documentation and required quantity.

If the original item cannot be sourced, any proposed alternative needs a separate electrical and dimensional comparison.

Fault and repair inquiry

Describe whether the issue appears at energization, during sustained operation or when reversing. Include the machine model, recent changes and photographs taken with the circuit safely isolated. A damaged contact or coil does not by itself establish the root cause.

Diagnosis and repair are considered as a separate scope, with the requested replacement parts listed independently.

Contactor within the machine

For a new machine, show the supply, load, control circuit and required auxiliary contacts on a diagram. If several devices operate together, include their interconnections and switching sequence. For replacement, identify cables, lugs, brackets and bridges that must remain unchanged.

Photograph terminal orientation as well as the top label. List assembled contactors, coils and contact kits separately, even when they belong to one family. A spare set for several machines should retain each complete designation.

These details support a defined configuration without treating visual similarity as an electrical compatibility check.

Information for equipment selection

Start with circuit diagram, supply voltage, starting and running currents, coil duty, terminals and mounting space. Attach the specification or the existing equipment documentation and identify mandatory characteristics separately from preferences.

If a nameplate and an earlier purchase list differ, provide both rather than combining their codes. For a new installation, describe the process and available utilities; for replacement, state which dimensions and interfaces must remain unchanged.

Indicate normal operation and any distinct starting, peak or cleaning conditions relevant to the equipment. A photograph should show the full label and the connection area, with a separate overall view. Mark the required position on an assembly drawing when several similar components are present.

These inputs allow the requested configuration to be distinguished from neighboring versions before price and supply scope are discussed.

Parts and package scope

For service, retain the complete machine and part designations, drawing position and quantity. Separate mandatory items from optional accessories, and state which installed components will remain in use.

A photograph of an earlier kit label can help, but the package contents must still match the current requirement. When several machines are involved, list their serial numbers and quantities individually instead of assuming one set fits every execution.

Describe any changes made since the original installation. A component quotation, a complete equipment package and diagnosis or repair are different scopes. Identify required documents and packaging before the order, and keep installation or configuration services as separate items.

This makes the final list reviewable and avoids leaving the content of a supposed complete kit undefined.

Send the model or specification

Send the complete designation, quantity and destination, together with photographs and available documentation. Use separate lines for multiple items and preserve every suffix. If an alternative is acceptable, define what may change and what must remain the same. Availability, price, lead time and suitability are determined for the specific inquiry.
