Chain and wire rope hoists, HB suspended systems, jib cranes and controls. Define the load, working area and installation requirements for your enquiry.
Equipment, assemblies and accessories
Choose a product group below. Each description identifies useful distinctions and the information needed to prepare an equipment or component enquiry.
ABUCompact GM2, GM4, GM6 and GM8
ABUCompact chain hoists have four principal sizes: GM2 up to 630 kg, GM4 up to 1,250 kg, GM6 up to 2,500 kg and GM8 up to 4 t. Capacity, lifting speed, lift height and chain reeving vary within a size. Specify the complete designation rather than the family name.
For a new lifting point, describe the load, lifting travel, working cycle and suspension arrangement. For replacement, send the hoist nameplate and serial number. Include the trolley, control and power supply requirements separately so that the proposed scope matches the actual installation.
Compact ABUCompact GMC hoists
ABUCompact GMC is a separate compact range for 125 or 250 kg loads, supplied from 230 V. The published maximum lifting heights are 20 m for the 125 kg version and 10 m for the 250 kg version. Do not combine these ratings into a single configuration.
State the required capacity and actual lift height, together with the mounting arrangement and control location. If replacing an existing unit, provide its complete label.
Chain equipment and accessories must be matched to GMC itself rather than selected from the larger GM2, GM4, GM6 or GM8 ranges by appearance.
ABUS wire rope hoists: E, U, S and D
ABUS wire rope hoists are offered with different trolley arrangements. These include monorail E, U with two travelling mechanisms, side-mounted S and double-rail D. The documented ranges include 1–16 t for E, 6.3–25 t for U and 1–10 t for S.
These ranges identify product families; they do not determine a complete crane specification. Provide the load, required lift, headroom and runway geometry. For an existing crane, include its serial number and trolley layout.
A request for a hoist alone should be distinguished from a trolley assembly or a complete crane project.
ABUCommander pendant controls
ABUCommander provides pendant control for crane movements. To specify a replacement, identify the commands, number of switching stages and connection arrangement. Photograph the front panel and label, and state the required control cable length.
Include lifting, trolley travel, bridge travel and any additional functions in the enquiry. A visually similar enclosure may contain a different contact arrangement. If the request concerns a new control assembly, provide the crane circuit diagram and required operating functions.
Buttons, enclosure parts and the complete pendant should be listed separately when more than one item is needed.
ABURemote Button and Joystick
The ABURemote range includes Button transmitters and Joystick controls. A transmitter enquiry must be linked to the installed receiver and the crane's command configuration. Send labels from both devices and identify the crane.
Explain whether you need a replacement transmitter, an accessory or a complete radio control system. For a new system, describe the required movements and operating position. For an existing one, retain information about pairing and configuration from the documentation.
Compatibility, commissioning and the actual contents of a control package require checking; a transmitter name alone does not settle these points.
End carriages and wheel blocks
ABUS lists end carriages and wheel blocks among its crane components. The selection depends on crane structure, running surface, drive arrangement and the position of the wheel. Identify whether the required unit belongs to the bridge, trolley or suspended hoist.
Supply an overall photograph with the location marked, plus the component label and available drawings. For a complete travelling arrangement, describe the rail and installation geometry. For a replacement wheel assembly, retain the original dimensions and drive information.
These details help separate an individual wheel component from a complete driven or non-driven carriage.
KBH conductors and cable systems
The ABUS component range includes protected KBH conductor systems, cable supply systems and spring-operated cable reels. They address different sections of a crane's electrical supply.
For KBH, identify the profile, number of poles and the required section, connection, suspension or collector component. For a cable system, provide travel distance and installation photographs. For a reel, include its label and cable specification.
State whether you need a complete supply arrangement or a damaged component replaced. The mechanical route and electrical requirements must both be considered; a cable length alone is not a sufficient specification.
LIS load measurement and limit devices
ABUS lists LIS load measurement, limit switches and collision-prevention equipment among its crane components. These devices must be considered with the crane's original control design. Provide the crane number, electrical diagram and labels of the measuring and control units.
Include the exact indication or fault code where relevant. For a limit switch, identify the controlled movement and switching arrangement. A request to replace a device should be distinguished from a request to change the crane's functions.
Any proposed replacement must preserve the applicable system requirements rather than being chosen solely from a similar housing or connector.
Chain sets, hook assemblies and collectors
An ABUCompact chain set is selected against the hoist model and suspension configuration. Chain dimensions, length and number of load-bearing falls belong to the particular execution. The chain collector must suit the installed chain length.
Start with a part number from the manual or spare-parts list. If it is unavailable, provide the complete hoist designation, serial number, lift height and photographs of the chain markings. List the hook assembly and collector separately where required.
Do not treat a similar chain diameter as proof that another chain is suitable for the hoist.
Trolleys for ABUCompact hoists
ABUCompact arrangements can use manual or electric trolleys. Selection depends on the supporting beam, load capacity, hoist model and required travel method. Provide the beam profile and lower flange width, together with the actual lifting load.
For an existing trolley, photograph its label, wheels, adjustment components and hoist suspension. For an electric trolley, add supply and control information. Specify whether the trolley must be supplied with a hoist or as a separate replacement.
GMC accessories and those for the larger GM sizes should be identified individually rather than assumed to share the same mounting arrangement.
ABUS HB suspended crane systems
HB covers suspended crane arrangements including monorail and double-rail configurations. The range includes EHB, EHB-X and ZHB. Profiles, suspensions, trolleys and connections belong to a defined system layout.
For a new installation, supply a drawing of the work area, required coverage, load and available suspension points. For extension or repair, identify the existing profile and system configuration. A component enquiry should mark its position on the layout.
Building support, clearances and the final arrangement require project-specific agreement; a system name alone cannot define the structure or confirm that an extension is suitable.
LS, LSX, VS and LW jib cranes
ABUS manufactures pillar-mounted and wall-mounted jib cranes. LS, LSX, VS and LW differ in structure, capacity and slewing arrangement. For equipment selection, describe the load, outreach, lift height and working area.
State whether a pillar or wall installation is intended and supply information about the available mounting position. For components of an existing crane, provide its label, serial number and a marked drawing or photograph. The support structure and installation scope must be clarified separately.
Do not infer a complete crane's permissible configuration from the name of a hoist fitted to it.
Specify the model, quantity and task the equipment must perform. For replacement, attach a readable nameplate, connection photographs and available drawings. Preserve all suffixes and option codes: these can determine power supply, interface, mounting and package contents.
If an alternative may be considered, list mandatory parameters and restrictions separately. For a new project, describe operating conditions, installation space and interfaces with existing machinery. Include the desired receiving date and documentation requirements.
Mark unknown parameters as unresolved rather than presenting assumptions as an approved specification.
Components and individual replacements
A replacement component must be linked to the equipment in which it will be installed. Send its part number, the main device model and serial number, and its position on a drawing where available. If the part number is unknown, provide an overall photograph and a close view of the markings.
List cables, mounts, sensors and other required accessories separately. Specify whether you need an individual item or a complete kit. Brand and external dimensions alone do not establish compatibility; electrical, mechanical and software requirements must be checked for the actual execution.
Repair and configuration can be defined as separate tasks where required.
