Thickness gauges: A1201, A1207 PenGauge, A1208, A1209, A1210

Piezoelectric thickness gauges for metals, plastics and composites. The A1201 measures 0.6–300 mm, runs up to 40 hours and has a magnet-mounted body. The A1207 PenGauge weighs 50 g, keeps the transducer inside the instrument and has a user-replaceable capsule. The A1208 is rated for −30 °C and surface roughness up to Rz 160. The A1209 and A1210 work with all dual-crystal transducers from 4 to 10 MHz; the A1210 adds an A-Scan mode and measurement through polymer coatings.

EMAT thickness gauges A1270 and A1270 EMAT-HT

Electromagnetic acoustic thickness gauges measure metal without couplant: the wave is generated inside the part. The A1270 uses pulsed magnetisation with no permanent magnet, covers 1–200 mm at 2.5–5.0 MHz and reads through coatings up to 1.5 mm. The A1270 EMAT-HT version with the S7394 transducer is rated for surfaces up to 800 °C.

State the object temperature and the coating thickness

Flaw detectors: A1211 Mini, A1212 MASTER, A1214 EXPERT

Portable ultrasonic flaw detectors for weld joints, corrosion, cracks and delaminations. The A1211 Mini weighs 230 g at 0.5–10 MHz. The A1212 MASTER covers 0.5–15.0 MHz and steel up to 3,000 mm with a thickness error of ±(0.01D+0.2) mm; body 260×156×43 mm, 800 g, up to 8 hours. The A1214 EXPERT gives the same range in a 258×164×110 mm body of 1.8 kg and adds real-time RF signal, 100 configurations and storage for 2,000 images.

Imaging flaw detectors: A1550 IntroVisor and A1525 Solo

Phased-array instruments with TFM reconstruction: they show a cross-section of the object in real time. Both run 16 elements, cover 1.0–10 MHz and have a 100 dB dynamic range. The A1550 IntroVisor weighs 1.8 kg, runs at least 8 hours and ships with three transducers. The A1525 Solo weighs 0.8 kg, runs at least 6 hours and ships with two.

Concrete tomographs: A1040 MIRA 3D and A1020 MIRA Lite

Low-frequency ultrasonic tomographs for concrete, reinforced concrete and stone. The A1040 MIRA 3D works from one side of access: 32 elements, 10–100 kHz band, velocities of 1,000–4,000 m/s, up to 3,000 mm in reinforced concrete, up to 10 hours on battery, IP54, array 200×125×100 mm weighing 2.95 kg. Data is processed on an Android tablet over WiFi; it comes in a base version and a PRO version of two units.

State the structure thickness and rebar diameter

Pulse velocity testers: UK1401 SURFER, A1410 PULSAR, A1220 MONOLITH

Instruments that assess concrete strength, uniformity and defects by wave velocity and transit time, without couplant. The UK1401 SURFER has built-in transducers on a 150 mm base, a 15–100 µs time range and 1,500–9,990 m/s velocities. The A1410 PULSAR uses an array of seven DPC transducers at 50 kHz and transmits through up to 2.5 m, declaring conformity with DIN EN 12504-4, BS 1881:203, ASTM C597-16 and IS 516. The A1220 MONOLITH covers 20 kHz – 1 MHz and transmits up to 15 m.

Automated scanners and inspection systems

Mechanised and automated inspection: the A2072 IntroScan scanner, the A2075 SoNet scanning system and the A2030 PLIMUT installation, plus the MS152 ScaUT, MS151 SPRUT and MS150 TuScan mechanised scanners for the M90 and M91 array series. For integration into third-party rigs the company offers the A1570 EMAT and A1052 MultiSONIC units, and lists automated gas pipeline inspection as a service.

Transducers and arrays — the replaceable parts

Transducers are the main replaceable part of ACS instruments: on wear the transducer is changed, not the instrument. The catalogue groups them into the combined S series (2.5 and 5 MHz), the dual-crystal D series (including the 10 MHz D2763 for thin walls and the high-temperature D1763 and DTT5012), the angle-beam S5280, S5182 and S5096, the high-frequency arrays M9060, M9065, M9170 and M9171, low-frequency dry-point-contact transducers and EMAT transducers of the S38, S73 and S76 series. Replaceable acoustic modules and the M9000 and M9100 commutators extend array service life.

State the transducer designation and the instrument model

Spare parts: cables, power, fixtures, reference blocks

The catalogue of spare parts is published with article numbers. Cables: single LEMO–LEMO for combined transducers (1213) and double for dual-crystal ones (1211), 1.2 m as standard, 1.8 and 2.5 m on request. Power: M12 battery (1823), detachable LiPoL 8.0 Ah – 11.1 V battery (1828), 220–15 V adapter (1829). Service, verification and training

The manufacturer provides engineering and inspection services: tomographic ultrasonic testing of metals and weld joints, testing of concrete infrastructure and automated gas pipeline inspection. Sales run through a network of official distributors; the main product stock and the service department are in Saarbrücken, and warranty and post-warranty service, training and methodical support are declared.

Technology: dry point contact, 3D-FMC, TFM

Concrete tomographs are built on dry point contact: a spring-loaded pin presses against the surface without couplant, so concrete work runs at roughly 20 to 100 kHz. Data is acquired on the full matrix capture principle: a 4×8 aperture of 32 elements yields 32×32 = 1,024 transmitter–receiver combinations, and the image is reconstructed by TFM. Pulse compression extends the range on thick structures.

What is needed to select an instrument

State the material and geometry of the object, the thickness, the surface temperature, any coating, the method required and the access conditions. For flaw detection the weld type matters, for concrete the structure thickness and rebar diameter, for gauging the thickness range and surface curvature.

Replaceable parts and what is not disclosed

The main replaceable part is the transducer: combined S series, dual-crystal D series, angle-beam S5280, S5182 and S5096, high-frequency arrays M9060, M9065, M9170 and M9171, low-frequency dry-point-contact transducers and the EMAT series. The catalogue also lists cables, batteries and adapters, carriages, holders, travel sensors, cases, reference blocks and gel. The designation structure and the verification interval are not disclosed.

Send the inspection object and the task

State what is required: an instrument matched to the object, a replacement transducer or cable, verification and repair, or engineering work for a specific case. Add the material, the thickness, the temperature and the destination city. We will state what the manufacturer's documentation confirms and what needs separate checking.
