National Instruments (NI)

National Instruments (NI) provides hardware and software for data acquisition, automated test, measurement and control. SpareX accepts enquiries for NI modules, controllers, chassis and connection accessories. Please specify the complete model and part number so that configuration, compatibility and supply conditions can be checked.

How to request NI equipment

Tell us whether you are replacing an installed module or specifying equipment for a new test system. Similar model names do not establish interchangeability: configuration, compatibility and supply conditions need to be checked separately.

• Identify the equipment: complete model, part number and quantity. Include a nameplate photograph or existing equipment list where available.
• Describe the system: PXI/PXI Express chassis and controller, or the CompactDAQ/CompactRIO configuration, together with the operating system and relevant NI software versions.
• Specify the measurement: signal type, channel count, range and connection accessories. State which existing modules must remain in use.
• Define the enquiry: delivery destination, required date and acceptable equipment condition. Price, confirmed lead time, included accessories and documentation requirements should be agreed in the written quotation.

PXI and PXI Express instruments

PXI systems combine a chassis, controller and instrument modules in an automated test platform. NI offers digital multimeters, waveform generators, analog I/O and switching modules. The PXIe-4322 provides eight channel-to-channel isolated analog outputs for voltage and current signals.

The PXI-4072 combines digital multimeter and digitizer functions, while the PXI-5422 generates standard and arbitrary waveforms. NI support pages mark both models as no longer available. Any enquiry for these legacy units requires separate confirmation of availability, condition and replacement options.

Switching and terminal blocks

The PXI-2530B is a high-density reed-relay switch with multiple multiplexer and matrix configurations. The PXI-2527 routes signals in test systems. The TB-2627 terminal block connects to PXI-2527 or PXIe-2527 modules for one-, two- or four-wire configurations. Channel count, voltage, current and topology must be checked together.

DAQ and CompactDAQ

NI DAQ hardware supports measurements of voltage, current, temperature, strain, pressure, sound and vibration. CompactDAQ uses a chassis with C Series modules to build configurable measurement systems. The legacy PXI-6259 combines analog I/O, digital I/O and counters. NI marks it as no longer available and lists PXIe-6363 as a suggested replacement; bus and system compatibility require review before substitution.

CompactRIO and industrial communication

CompactRIO combines real-time processing, a programmable FPGA and C Series I/O for monitoring and control. The legacy cRIO-9004 requires a compatible chassis. NI lists it as no longer available and suggests cRIO-9036 as a replacement option. The USB-8486 provides a FOUNDATION Fieldbus interface; NI-FBUS software and operating-system compatibility should be checked.
