Start with the component duty and specific product line. The Johnson Controls name alone does not identify the generation, regional version or compatibility. Metasys combines monitoring and control of building systems. Component replacement depends on the existing architecture, software version and integration interfaces; a shared brand does not establish compatibility.
For selection: Full controller code, Metasys version, component duty, network diagram and input/output list.
Facility Explorer includes equipment and supervisory controllers. FX90 is a newer generation of supervisory controller than FX80; migration requires checking platform version and licences.
For selection: Full part number, FX80 or FX90, platform version, licences, connected devices, network type and configuration backup.
VG1000 is a ball-valve family; VG7000 uses globe valves. Valve body and actuator must be selected together. Number of ways, flow characteristic and permitted media depend on the configuration.
For selection: Body and actuator codes, nominal size, Kvs/Cv, two or three ways, connection, medium, temperature and differential pressure.
M9100 and VA9100 in the official non-fail-safe group are electric actuators without spring return. Valve and damper applications require checking mounting and mechanical connection.
For selection: Full code, voltage, control signal, torque or thrust, travel or rotation, required power-loss behaviour and mounting dimensions.
NS8000 includes single- and multifunction network sensors for temperature, humidity, CO2 and occupancy. Measured quantities vary by part number; check the network and connected controller.
For selection: Full part number, measured quantities, mounting location, network or interface, supply and controller code.
TEC3000 offers networked, wireless and standalone versions for applications including two- and four-pipe fan coils. Wiring and outputs must match the actual installation.
For selection: Full TEC code, equipment type, two- or four-pipe arrangement, control stages and outputs, voltage and BMS connection requirements.
A421 is used with single-stage refrigeration or HVAC equipment. P77 handles a single pressure; P78 combines high- and low-pressure control. Setpoints, reset and electrical version depend on the full code.
For selection: Code, refrigerant or medium, range, setpoints, differential, reset type, voltage and contact load, sensor or capillary.
The current Johnson Controls commercial catalog includes variable-speed screw YVAA and scroll YLAA chillers. These commercial lines do not establish ownership of all residential YORK products.
For selection: Model and serial number, design cooling capacity, fluid and ambient temperatures, refrigerant and power supply; component code and diagram position for parts.
The current catalog includes centrifugal YK and magnetic-bearing centrifugal YZ/YMC2 chillers. Similar applications do not make compressor or control components interchangeable.
For selection: Model, serial number, refrigerant, evaporator and condenser conditions, supply; documented part number and component nameplate for replacement.

Send the full part number, quantity, nameplate photo and drawing position. Boards and controllers require version, firmware and configuration; valves and actuators require connection details, characteristics and control signal.
