Baltic Valve lists floating ball and trunnion mounted ball valves as distinct product families. For a new line, define the fluid, operating temperature, pressure class, bore, end connection and operation method. For replacement, send the existing nameplate and drawing.
A matching nominal diameter alone cannot establish interchangeability: face to face dimensions, seat arrangement and actuator interface also matter.

The manufacturer lists wedge, parallel disc and pressure seal bonnet gate valve designs. These are shutoff devices, so the requested duty must be stated before selecting a body and bonnet. Give the plant drawing, material, size, rating, end connection and stem arrangement.
For an actuated assembly, include mounting details and required torque rather than selecting a drive from line size alone.

Baltic Valve groups bolted bonnet, bellows seal and pressure seal bonnet globe valves separately. A globe valve can be specified for isolation or throttling when its exact design supports the duty. State flow direction, pressure drop, required shutoff and the process medium.
For replacement, provide the old body dimensions, stem and disc arrangement, end connection and a clear image of the plate.

The manufacturer's check valve lines include swing, pressure seal swing and dual plate designs. They perform different duties when flow reverses. Supply normal and minimum flow, installation orientation, medium and any pulsation from pumps or compressors.
If replacing a wafer unit, its face to face dimension and mating flanges are essential. Send a drawing or clear photograph of the internals when requesting a disc, spring or seat.

Baltic Valve presents pressure balanced lubricated, sleeved soft seal and lifting plug valve families. The plug rotates through a quarter turn, but sealing arrangements differ. Specify medium, temperature, operating frequency, required tightness and whether a sealant injection system is installed.
For spare parts, identify the plug, sleeve, stem and body by drawing and plate rather than assuming that similar outside dimensions mean matching internals.
State seal type, lubricant, medium and cycling.
The forged steel line contains compact gate, globe and check valve designs. Match the selected unit to the piping specification: body material, pressure class, size, end connection and bonnet construction. Threaded and socket weld ends are different installation choices.
When replacing an installed item, include face to face dimensions and access around the handwheel or cover so a technically suitable valve also fits the plant.

Baltic Valve publishes Y type strainer examples for process pipelines. Select the body and screen using flow, debris loading, allowable pressure drop, medium compatibility and maintenance access. To source a replacement screen or cover seal, provide the exact unit designation and element dimensions.
Pipe diameter alone does not identify the screen geometry or mesh size. Confirm drain and cleaning arrangements during project review.

Start with the duty and medium. Then provide normal and design temperature and pressure, size, body and trim material, tightness requirements, design standard, end connection and operation method. On an existing plant, verify face to face dimensions and mating flanges.
Seats, discs, wedges, stems, balls, plugs, springs and strainer screens must be identified against the drawing of the exact valve. Attach the plate, parts list and photographs. Matching nominal size does not prove interchangeability.

A quotation therefore needs the particular design and operating conditions rather than a brand name and nominal diameter alone.
A ball or plug valve operates by a quarter turn, while a gate valve uses linear wedge or disc travel. A globe valve may be chosen for isolation or throttling when the specified design supports that duty.
A check valve reacts to reverse flow and a strainer captures particles upstream of sensitive equipment. Describing the purpose first narrows the suitable family and prevents a size based substitution that changes process behaviour.
DN or NPS identifies nominal size, not the maximum operating pressure. Compare the project PN or Class/LB rating with design temperature and the process medium. Confirm body, trim and sealing materials separately: two valves of the same family can use different internals.
A published example confirms only its own configuration, so material and pressure data must be checked for each line item.
RF and RTJ flanges, butt weld and socket weld ends, threads, wafer and lug bodies involve different mating pipework. Record the existing face to face length, flange standard, bolt pattern and available space for the disc, handwheel or actuator. This is especially useful in retrofit work.
A nominal size match cannot resolve an incompatible end connection or a valve body that cannot physically fit between existing flanges.
Manual valves may be equipped with a lever, handwheel or gearbox. Electric and pneumatic drives need mounting interface, stem dimensions, required torque, travel time, power and control signals.
Where an installed actuator must be retained, send its model and coupling drawing with the valve information. Choosing a drive from pipe size alone leaves critical mechanical and control requirements unresolved.
For each valve in the process specification, list quantity, duty, fluid, design pressure and temperature, body and trim materials, end connection, operating method and applicable design or test standards. State any coating, tagging or inspection requirements.

Provide clear photographs of the valve plate and body marks, the existing drawing, installation dimensions and a description of why replacement is needed. Confirm whether the face to face length and pipe ends can change. If an actuator is reused, include its nameplate and mounting interface.
This information helps distinguish a complete valve replacement from a request for internals or a drive adapter.
For a check valve, supply flow range, installation orientation and any pump or compressor pulsation; closure behaviour matters when flow reverses. For a butterfly valve, specify wafer, lug or double flange construction, seat and disc material, and the clearance for disc rotation.
Even on lines of the same diameter, these two families need different information for a technically suitable selection.
A Y type strainer needs a flow rate, permissible pressure drop, debris loading, screen aperture and compatible body materials. Consider the access needed to remove the element and use the drain. If sourcing a replacement screen, send the exact strainer designation and element dimensions.
The pipe diameter alone cannot identify the screen shape, mesh or cover gasket.
