Cryostar cryogenic equipment
Specify the medium, operating point and installation to enquire about Cryostar pumps, compressors and turboexpanders. For existing machines, send nameplates and part references.
SDPD and PPC reciprocating pumps
Reciprocating pumps supply cryogenic liquids at pressure. SDPD has a vacuum insulated cold end and a grease lubricated crank drive. PPC serves cylinder filling with liquid CO₂ and N₂O. Identify the complete cold end when ordering replacement components.
- SDPD family maximum: 280 bar.
- Typical SDPD cylinder filling duties: 150 and 200 bar.
- PPC maximum pressure: 100 bar.
- Match valves and seals to the full assembly code.
MRP, HPP and LDPD high pressure pumps
These families differ in cold end arrangement, drive and delivery duty. MRP supports intermittent or continuous operation. HPP addresses higher pressure duties, while LDPD is designed for high flow applications. Select a configuration against the required operating point.
- MRP: up to 500 bar with an oil lubricated crank drive.
- HPP: up to 600 bar with single or triple cold ends.
- LDPD: up to 230 bar; simplex, duplex or triplex.
- Family limits do not define every individual configuration.
CS and CBSD centrifugal pumps
Horizontal, directly coupled cryogenic pumps for intermittent duties such as loading road tankers. Replacement selection needs the pipe connections, motor specification and liquid supply conditions. Include the complete model suffix and identify the component on an assembly drawing.
- Published family capacity: up to 130 m³/h.
- Keep the complete CS or CBSD designation.
- Provide flow and both inlet and outlet pressures.
- For repairs, attach the assembly drawing and component photographs.
MCP modular centrifugal pumps
MCP serves industrial cryogenic installations in horizontal and vertical configurations. Versions are available for warm box and cold box installation. The rotating assembly can be removed without dismantling the process pipeline, which is relevant when planning maintenance procurement.
- Published family capacity: up to 900 m³/h.
- Specify horizontal or vertical installation.
- Identify the warm box or cold box configuration.
- Parts enquiries need the serial number and drawing position.
MX, VP and NeoVP multistage pumps
MX succeeds the CDS multistage family. VP is a vertical multistage range, while NeoVP is the newer generation for air separation units. Compare the operating duty and installation arrangement before selecting a complete pump or replacement assembly.
- MX family limits: up to 90 m³/h and 60 bar.
- VP maximum discharge pressure: 130 bar.
- MX and VP offer warm box and cold box configurations.
- Confirm stages, seal arrangement and mounting for replacement.
SUBTRAN submerged pumps
Variable speed submerged pumps for cryogenic vessel installations. Cryostar identifies FV, LP and RP configurations. Selection should establish how the pump is mounted, connected and removed from the vessel, including the installation space available during servicing.
- Published range: 1 to 20 m³/h, up to 20 bar.
- FV identifies a flanged configuration.
- LP identifies a low pressure barrel configuration.
- RP identifies a removable pump configuration.
Turboexpanders and expansion assemblies
A turboexpander is selected as part of a process system. The official range includes oil brake, compressor brake and generator loaded machines. An equipment or parts enquiry must identify the actual machine, process conditions and associated installation documentation.
- Specify gas composition and inlet and outlet conditions.
- Identify the brake or generator arrangement.
- Provide the machine serial number for replacement parts.
- Attach drawing positions and the required component list.
BOG compressors and Compander packages
Cryostar cryogenic compressors serve boil off gas and fuel gas duties. A Compander combines compression and expansion stages on a common gearbox and frame. The enquiry should describe the complete process duty and identify the equipment included in the requested package.
- Compressor families include CM, CM2, CM4/CM6 and SCM 360.
- Specify boil off gas composition and required flow.
- Compander packages include drive and auxiliary systems.
- Define the package scope and connection boundaries.
Valves, seals and replacement assemblies
Cryostar replacement parts are requested individually or as kits. A reciprocating pump enquiry identifies the cold end and valve assembly; a centrifugal pump enquiry identifies the relevant assembly and seal. Link each requested position to the machine serial number.
- Provide machine type, serial number and part number.
- Include description, drawing position and quantity.
- Distinguish individual components from maintenance kits.
- Retain every suffix and letter in the identification code.
Selecting a Cryostar pump family
Start with the process duty: cylinder filling, road tanker loading, liquid transfer or continuous service in an air separation plant. Specify the handled liquid, required flow and inlet and outlet pressures. These inputs establish which pump family and installation arrangement should be considered.
The published maximum figures describe a family envelope. They do not mean that every pump reaches the maximum flow and maximum pressure simultaneously. For several operating modes, provide a duty table and identify the normal operating point as well as occasional requirements.
Nameplates, serial numbers and drawings
Provide clear photographs of the pump nameplate and the complete assembly. Photograph the motor nameplate separately. Keep all model suffixes and serial numbers; a designation such as A-SDPD 30/20-T contains more useful identification than the SDPD family name alone.
An assembly drawing connects the requested part to a particular machine configuration. Mark the drawing position and include the associated parts list. If the label is damaged, send the installation records and photographs of visible markings on the assembly or component.
For multiple machines, assign a separate line to each serial number. Link photographs to the corresponding line so similar looking units remain identifiable. Measurements can support identification, especially for an unmarked component, but should accompany the available manufacturer documentation.
Cold ends, drives and installation
For a reciprocating pump, distinguish the cold end, the drive and the complete pumping unit. State whether the existing motor will be retained. A valve or seal enquiry should include the assembly reference and the position of the component in the parts list.
For centrifugal equipment, specify connections, mounting orientation and the installed seal arrangement. Warm box and cold box configurations should remain explicitly identified. For a submerged pump, include vessel installation details and explain how the existing pump is connected and removed.
List the requested equipment and the items that the site will retain. This can include the motor, support, pipe connections or control equipment. A defined scope makes it easier to compare a replacement assembly with a complete pump proposal and assess the work required at the installation.
Medium and operating conditions
Identify the liquid or gas and its composition, temperature and pressure conditions. Keep the medium description from the plant specification, including any relevant operating stages. State whether the equipment serves oxygen, nitrogen, argon, carbon dioxide or another defined process stream.
For gas equipment, provide the process specification and required inlet and outlet conditions. A BOG compressor enquiry should describe the boil off gas duty and its connection to the wider system. A turboexpander enquiry should identify the associated brake or generator arrangement.
Replacement parts and maintenance kits
Cryostar lists individual replacement parts and kits. Send the machine type, serial number, part number, description and quantity for each position. If a kit is required, include its designation and the documented list of components rather than requesting a general set of seals.
For a worn component, photographs of markings and mating surfaces can help clarify the enquiry. Identify whether the request concerns a complete valve assembly, an individual element, a seal or another listed part. Keep the original code even when the site uses a different everyday name.
Separate components for an immediate repair from spare stock for later maintenance. Indicate the required receiving date and whether partial deliveries are useful.
The equipment owner plans maintenance work under its operating documentation; a manufacturer service request needs its own defined scope.
A Cryostar component we have quoted
Our enquiry history includes a quotation calculation for a Cryostar check valve, part number 740101130, for an A-SDPD 30/20-T pump. The example illustrates how a complete pump designation and a part number define a specific procurement position.
For the same reference or a neighbouring assembly, provide the nameplate and parts list for your own machine. List the quantity and associate every requested component with the machine to which it belongs.
Preparing a complete equipment enquiry
For a new installation, send the technical specification, process duty, installation arrangement and required package scope. For replacement equipment, include records of the existing machine and state which dimensions, connections and operating conditions must be preserved.
List the main equipment, auxiliary systems, spare assemblies and documents separately. Compander packages and compressor units can involve drive, lubrication, seal gas and instrumentation requirements. Identify which systems are included in the enquiry and which are provided by the site.
Include a technical contact who can confirm the configuration against the actual plant conditions. A common requirement table makes alternative proposals easier to compare. Once the technical scope is defined, specify quantities, delivery destination and the required commercial documents.
Multi item orders and receiving checks
Use one table with a separate line for each model or part. Useful columns are equipment, serial number, part number, description, quantity and photograph reference. State common project requirements once and add individual exceptions to the relevant machine line.
Before ordering, compare the agreed specification with the original equipment list. At receipt, check identification, quantities and package contents against that specification.
Keep component markings connected to the relevant machine records so parts can be assigned to the intended maintenance task.
Availability, price and delivery timing are checked for each enquiry. This page does not establish official dealer status, compatibility from a family name alone or certification for every configuration. These conditions are verified for the agreed equipment and package.
