Equipment and components for SKF applications
Specify maintenance equipment and industrial components for SKF applications, from bearing support assemblies to heating and condition monitoring equipment.
6205 bearings and designation checks
SKF lists the basic 6205 bearing with dimensions of 25 × 52 × 15 mm. Send the complete designation, including suffixes, together with the machine application so the enquiry identifies the required variant.
- Example dimensions: 25 × 52 × 15 mm
- Include the complete suffix
- Add quantity and marking photographs
Roller bearings for industrial machinery
SKF includes spherical roller bearings in its industrial catalogue. Identify the installed bearing and its support arrangement before requesting a replacement or a bearing set for a machine assembly.
- Record markings on both rings
- Provide the support arrangement
- Describe the machine operating duty
Bearing housings and mounted assemblies
SKF describes split housings for several self-aligning bearing types. Specify whether the enquiry covers a housing, a bearing or an assembled support, and list the associated mounting components.
- Housing designation and shaft centre height
- Separate bearing and sleeve requirements
- List seals and locating components
Shaft and housing seals
SKF links housing seal selection to the operating conditions. Include the sealing profile, mating dimensions and working environment, with photographs and a drawing of the installed arrangement.
- Sealing profile and mating dimensions
- Medium, temperature and shaft duty
- Photograph and readable designation
LGMT 2 lubrication products
SKF describes LGMT 2 as a mineral oil based grease with a lithium thickener. State the required packaging and quantity, and explain the bearing duty and the lubricant currently used at the machine.
- Complete designation: LGMT 2
- Required packaging and quantity
- Operating duty and existing lubricant
LAGD single-point lubricators
SKF identifies SYSTEM 24 LAGD 125/WA2 as a gas driven single-point lubricator filled with 125 ml of LGWA 2. Describe the lubrication point and the required unit, connections and lubricant.
- Example variant: LAGD 125/WA2
- Filling: 125 ml LGWA 2
- Connection set and installation position
TIH induction bearing heaters
The TIH 100m is intended for hot mounting of bearings; SKF states a maximum bearing mass of 120 kg. Describe the workpiece and workstation so the power version and accessories can be specified.
- Equipment example: TIH 100m
- Stated bearing capacity: up to 120 kg
- Workpiece dimensions and power supply
QuickCollect condition monitoring
SKF QuickCollect provides vibration and temperature data through an application. Describe the inspection route and the required sensor, mounting accessories and software scope as separate items in the enquiry.
- Vibration and temperature measurements
- Inspection route or individual reading
- Sensor, mounting and software scope
Define the production or maintenance task
Describe what the equipment should do: equip a bearing maintenance station, organise lubrication points, collect machine condition readings or complete an industrial bearing support. Identify the machines, the working environment and the number of sets required.
For an existing production line, attach a drawing of the relevant assembly and explain where the proposed equipment will be used. This establishes a practical basis for reviewing the scope.
Separate essential functions from preferred accessories. If a new instrument will replace an existing unit, provide its nameplate and a list of the accessories your team uses. Equipment, mounting components, consumables and software can then appear as separate quotation lines.
Your engineering and purchasing teams can review the same scope against the intended workflow and the requested configuration.
Specify the rotating equipment support
For a mounted bearing assembly, list the housing, bearing, sleeve, seals and locating components individually. State whether you need an assembled support or selected components. Supply the designations and an installation drawing showing mating dimensions and fixing points.
When the same support is used on several machines, record the number of supports per machine and the number of machines so the required quantities remain clear.
Keep different assembly variants on separate lines. Photographs of the installed support help explain its orientation and how the maintenance team reaches it. SKF documentation for the requested configuration provides the reference for component selection.
After the enquiry data has been checked, the assembly scope and its accompanying accessories can be agreed as a clearly identified set.
Plan the lubrication equipment scope
Prepare a list of machines and lubrication points. For each point, give the available bearing or housing designation, the lubricant currently used, the operating conditions and the connection arrangement. Photographs or a simple installation drawing are useful for an automatic lubricator enquiry.
Keep the lubricator, connection accessories and lubricant on separate lines so quantities and packaging are unambiguous throughout the quotation.
For SKF LAGD 125/WA2, retain the complete variant designation. The manufacturer describes a gas driven unit containing 125 ml of LGWA 2. For a project covering several areas, attach a point list and explain the maintenance schedule used by your team.
We can then clarify the input data and prepare a configuration enquiry tied to the actual machines and locations.
Equip a bearing mounting workstation
Provide the mass and dimensions of the workpieces, the expected mounting workload and the available power supply. Explain whether the heater will remain on a bench or move between maintenance areas.
SKF states a bearing capacity of up to 120 kg for the TIH 100m; suitability for your task also requires the workpiece dimensions and the requested equipment version. List the accessories needed at each workstation.
For replacement equipment, include the current nameplate and photographs of the tooling in use. For a new maintenance area, a workstation layout and a description of the handling process help define the scope. The quotation can distinguish the heater, accessories and supporting materials.
Operation and installation are organised by the customer using the equipment instructions and the procedures of the receiving facility.
Describe the condition monitoring programme
List the machines, measurement points and the maintenance task. State whether the project involves individual checks or a repeated inspection route. SKF QuickCollect provides vibration and temperature data through an application.
To define a set, describe sensor quantities, mounting accessories, mobile devices and the software functions your users need. If a monitoring system is already in place, identify its name and the configuration used by your team.
An anonymised report example can show how readings should be reviewed at the facility. For several operators, state how many sets will be used at the same time and explain the expected flow of measurement records.
Hardware and software requirements are considered separately so the proposed scope can be checked against the working method, the required functions and the contents of each equipment set.
Prepare the technical enquiry documents
Attach a list of designations and quantities, marking photographs and drawings of the installation positions. Link each file to its enquiry line. Where the same item appears in several documents, identify the current revision.
For bearings, preserve the full suffix; for lubricants, include the designation and packaging. This keeps the supplied information tied to the actual component or equipment version being requested.
When an item is identified from a sample, explain which dimensions are known and how they were measured. Place unresolved questions beside the relevant line rather than in a separate unreferenced message. We can relate clarifications to your list before preparing the final scope.
This is particularly useful for mixed enquiries containing instruments, housing components, seals and lubrication products in one project.
Agree the set contents and receiving requirements
Group equipment and components by working task: a mounting station, a monitoring programme, lubrication points or line assemblies. State the number of devices and the contents of one set, including the accessories specified by your engineers.
For projects serving more than one facility, identify the destination of each group. A grouped quotation helps preserve the relationship between the overall project and the equipment required at a particular machine.
Explain what information your receiving and engineering teams need when the equipment arrives. Include requirements for packaging, package identification and accompanying documents in the enquiry.
For software, describe the functions and working environment without sending passwords or internal access details. Once agreed, these requirements form part of the configuration and the conditions stated in the relevant quotation.
Request a project quotation
Send the project description and available documentation through the enquiry form. Include the destination city or country, the number of sets and a suitable contact for technical questions.
If the equipment is connected with a planned maintenance stop, record the desired readiness date as a customer requirement for review. A line-by-line spreadsheet with clearly named attachments is useful when several equipment categories are included.
SpareX will check the scope and identify the information needed to prepare the quotation. Equipment, accessories and consumables can be listed in separate sections so your team can compare the proposed sets by their contents.
If quantities or technical requirements change after the initial enquiry, identify the affected lines. The final specification can then reflect the current task and the agreed configuration.
