Identify the SANUPS model and configuration

Begin with photographs of the main rating plate and the identification of installed modules. Transcribe the complete model code, preserving its suffixes, and describe the function of the system.

A repair request needs the identification of the installed device rather than a family name from an old quotation. If several similar housings are connected, provide their individual details and an overall connection diagram. Identify the component to be replaced separately.

When a plate is unreadable, use the equipment documentation and spare parts list. State whether the request covers a complete UPS, a battery assembly or an interface card so that different functions remain distinct.

Define the load and redundancy requirement

Prepare a list of connected equipment with its electrical ratings. Separate continuously operating loads from devices that start cyclically. Identify the equipment that must continue running during a supply interruption and the equipment that can be stopped.

For an existing UPS, available load readings and the distribution diagram are useful. Do not select a package solely from a sum of nameplate values without describing the operating pattern. The required capacity margin and configuration are agreed against the specification.

Show the installation location and available space around the equipment. For a cabinet or rack, attach the dimensional drawing, mounting arrangement and access to serviceable parts. Describe cooling conditions and nearby heat sources.

For an existing system, identify the mounting hardware and cables that will remain. Before selecting a new enclosure, check access for connection and maintenance as well as whether it fits the allocated space. Handling arrangements for heavy modules must be agreed with the site's technical team.

If rack installation is required, state it explicitly together with depth restrictions. The actual installation follows the documentation for the selected product and the site's approved procedures.

Specify input and output connections

Provide the input supply details and the output requirements of the load. Attach a single-line diagram, feed identification and information on existing protective devices. For a replacement, compatibility with the distribution arrangement matters as well as the capacity rating.

Describe the bypass where it forms part of the project and identify who is responsible for its connection. Socket types, terminals and cable entries are checked for the selected version. Earthing and switching arrangements are reviewed by the specialist responsible for electrical safety at the site.

For an individual module, include its drawing reference and the identification of the main device in which it will operate.

Link backup time to the battery configuration

Specify the required backup duration together with the load at which it is needed. Separate continued process operation from the time needed for an orderly shutdown of an information system.

A battery assembly replacement requires the UPS model, installed battery unit identification and connection details. Do not select a battery block by dimensions or visual similarity alone.

Different versions are listed in the catalog, so the permitted combination must be checked for the individual device. State whether additional battery cabinets will remain. Battery and power system work must be carried out by trained specialists following the documentation.

Describe the planned maintenance scope and the equipment that will remain in service.

Define UPS monitoring and interface needs

Describe how the site receives UPS operating information. Provide the monitoring system, interface in use and required events. The official SANUPS range includes network and contact interfaces and management software.

When replacing a card, attach its complete code and the main device identification. Clarify whether the task is status reporting only or also an orderly shutdown of connected equipment. Hardware and software compatibility are checked for the specific configuration.

Do not include production network passwords or access credentials in a public request. An interaction diagram, software environment and required functions are enough to begin selection. The site's responsible administrator handles access configuration.

Separate the power conversion task

Clarify whether the requirement is backup power, energy conversion or control of a particular part of a generation system. These functions are not substitutes for one another. An inverter or power conditioner request needs the source parameters, load requirements and connection arrangement.

For replacement, identify the complete installed model. For a renewable energy project, provide the specification, grid requirements and operating conditions. A family being present in the catalog does not establish suitability of every version for the site.

Selection follows the documentation of the proposed configuration. Agree management components and links to the existing system separately, with a defined position and purpose for every device in the quotation.

Prepare the request and inspect received equipment

Combine the agreed devices and accessories into a specification with full codes, quantities and the purpose of each item. Attach clear photographs, a connection diagram and load information. Give the delivery destination and a technical contact.

On receipt, compare identification, completeness and visible condition with the agreed list before connecting to the supply. Keep packaging identification and photographs. Record any discrepancy for review.
