MOOG

MOOG industrial equipment and motion control

Specify MOOG hydraulic and electric components for industrial machinery, from valves and pumps to drives, actuators and test-system control.

D761 valves and the MFB family

MFB valves use mechanical feedback and an analog command. Identify an installed D761 from its complete nameplate and hydraulic schematic before specifying the replacement or an axis package.

  • Mechanical feedback, MFB.
  • Analog command input.
  • D761 rated signal follows the nameplate.

D633/D634 and electronic feedback valves

D633/D634 are direct drive valves with onboard electronics and an analog interface. Specify the full model and electrical connection when selecting the valve for an industrial hydraulic axis.

  • D633/D634 have onboard electronics.
  • Analog interface on D633/D634.
  • DDV operation needs no pilot flow.

RKP radial piston pumps

Select an RKP pump for the complete hydraulic circuit. The enquiry should identify the full pump code, control device, shaft rotation and mounting connections, with a drawing of the existing installation.

  • RKP radial piston design.
  • Open circuit with different control devices.
  • Clockwise and counter-clockwise versions.

Linear and rotary servo actuators

Define the actuator as part of the machine axis. Provide the motion, load, mounting drawing and control interface so the actuator, drive and software configuration can be considered together.

  • Linear and rotary industrial actuators.
  • Electromechanical axis packages.
  • Electrohydraulic actuation solutions.

DS2020 servo drives and servo motors

DS2020 is a stand-alone single-axis servo drive. Select the drive, motor and feedback as an axis package, matching the configuration and control system of the machine.

  • DS2020 is a single-axis drive.
  • EtherCAT, CANopen and Profinet options.
  • Servo motor families include CD and Fastact H.

Test controllers and software

Moog Test Controller and Integrated Test Suite support test-system control. Describe the rig, signals, channels and test modes to define a controller package or identify an installed component.

  • Configurable Moog Test Controller.
  • Integrated Test Suite software.
  • Runner, Replication, Sinesweep and Random Vibration.

Define the industrial motion-control package

SpareX considers MOOG equipment and components as parts of an industrial machine. Start with the process, the motion and the boundary of the package you need. The enquiry may concern a hydraulic axis, a pump assembly, an electric drive or a test-system controller.

The component list follows the technical brief. Naming an industry helps explain the application, while machine drawings and operating requirements define the actual selection.

For an existing machine, provide current documentation and identify the installed components that will remain. For a new package, describe the load, duty cycle, mounting and host control system. Separate mandatory requirements from preferences.

If more than one actuation technology is acceptable, state the alternatives in the brief. This gives hydraulic, electric and hybrid solutions a common application to address and keeps the proposed package aligned with the customer’s project.

Specify the hydraulic axis and pump assembly

Begin a hydraulic enquiry with the circuit diagram and a description of the driven mechanism. For the valve, identify its complete code, command signal and electrical connection. For the pump, include the control device, shaft rotation and mounting details.

Keep the model numbers of existing elements that must work with the new assembly. Mounting drawings and a list of mating components help establish the physical boundary of the requested package.

Mechanical feedback valves and devices with onboard electronics represent different control arrangements. D633/D634 use an analog interface and directly drive the spool. These family-level characteristics guide the first selection; the complete configuration still follows the machine documentation.

If the circuit has been modified, include the revised drawing. Mark older documents as historical references so the enquiry describes the configuration that the machine actually uses.

Match the drive, motor and feedback

For an electric axis, describe the motion, load and operating cycle. State whether you need a complete package or a drive, motor or actuator on its own. DS2020 is a single-axis drive, while CD and Fastact H are servo motor families.

Identify the motor, feedback device and host control system when defining the package. Label any cabinet photographs and show the relevant connections on a drawing.

When retaining the existing cabinet, provide its mounting and connection requirements from the project documentation. For an actuator, include the mounting drawing and the required motion. If the controller will change, list the signals that must be preserved.

Interface selection and axis configuration should follow the machine requirements together. Distinguish a replacement power module from a modernization project so the proposed scope matches the work your engineers are planning.

Prepare the test-rig specification

Describe the test article, applied motion and measured quantities. Identify the existing control equipment if the project replaces a particular unit.

Moog Test Controller and Integrated Test Suite belong to test-system control; the required channels and modes need to be defined for the individual rig. Include the sensors, signals and interaction with the rest of the installation in the technical brief.

To repeat an existing package, retain the hardware and software versions listed in its documentation. For a new system, separate required test scenarios from optional functions. Attach a system diagram and identify components already supplied by the customer.

This makes the package boundary clear and gives the supplier a concrete list of questions to resolve. A software product name alone does not define the controller configuration needed by a particular test installation.

Build a clear bill of materials

Use a separate line for every component, its designation and quantity. For assemblies, state which elements belong to the enquiry and which remain at the customer’s facility. Attach mounting drawings, connection diagrams and the bill of materials.

Keep repeat orders separate from requirements for a new project. If a nameplate differs from a drawing, retain both records and explain which one describes the equipment currently installed.

Equipment and spare components can be included in the same enquiry as separate positions. Use the parts option in the form for a replacement component and provide its manufacturer and description. For an equipment package, describe the application and the boundary of supply.

SpareX will clarify the missing information and prepare a proposal for the defined scope. Export shipment arrangements and accompanying documentation are agreed for the individual project.

Plan acceptance against the agreed specification

Decide which identifiers and documents will be used for acceptance. A component should be matched to its designation and agreed configuration; a package also needs a list of included units and interfaces. Match photographs, drawings and packing identifiers to the same bill-of-materials position.

Give customer documents clear file names and revisions so that different versions of the project do not become mixed during review.

Installation and commissioning are carried out by responsible specialists using the equipment documentation. Before that work, retain the current machine configuration and the agreed list of changes.

An enquiry can also cover spare components, diagnostic assessment or replacement of a particular unit. If a fault is involved, describe the observed symptom and checks already performed. This keeps equipment selection separate from an unsupported conclusion about the cause of a machine stoppage.
