Cryo Technologies equipment selection

We help specify Cryo Technologies gas liquefaction and purification equipment using project requirements, process duties and a defined equipment configuration.

Helium liquefaction

Cryo Technologies engineers helium liquefaction systems. A replacement request should identify the plant project and the assembly within its equipment schedule.

  • Brand-page capacity range: 50–600 MMSCFY
  • Vacuum cold box
  • Liquid nitrogen pre-cooling and helium recycle refrigeration

Hydrogen liquefaction

Hydrogen liquefaction is a stated Cryo Technologies application. Equipment scope depends on project conditions as well as the required daily production.

  • Brand page states 5–30 metric tons/day
  • Cold box and refrigeration circuit
  • Project-specific equipment scope

Vacuum cold boxes

Vacuum cold box engineering, design and fabrication are stated Cryo Technologies capabilities. An internal assembly inquiry should include its drawing reference.

  • Engineering, design and fabrication
  • Helium and hydrogen applications
  • Internal equipment defined by project drawings

Cryogenic gas purification

Cryo Technologies lists cryogenic helium and hydrogen purification. The feed composition and required outlet gas quality define the starting point for an equipment inquiry.

  • Helium and hydrogen purification
  • Dedicated purification cold boxes
  • Feed impurities recorded in the inquiry

Helium recycling

Helium recycling is a listed Cryo Technologies application. Describe the returning gas streams, operating schedule and their connection to an existing liquefaction plant.

  • Returning helium streams
  • Project-defined system configuration
  • Operating duty supplied by the customer

Other gas systems

The stated scope also covers LNG, nitrogen liquefaction and re-liquefaction, warm gas purification and vacuum insulated distribution. Identify the particular process in the inquiry.

  • LNG and nitrogen applications
  • Warm gas purification and oil removal
  • Vacuum insulated piping and distribution

Identify the plant and assembly

Start with the plant designation and project number. Attach a readable nameplate image, an overall equipment photograph and the relevant drawing with the requested position highlighted. Where an installed component has its own identification plate, include that plate separately.

This distinguishes the plant identifier from the part that is being considered.

Record the quantity and ordering unit for each line. If the request is for a kit, include the kit contents from the equipment schedule. Keep suffixes and revision identifiers intact.

Where several drawings exist, identify the revision that corresponds to the installed plant so that the inquiry follows the actual configuration.

Prepare the equipment inquiry

For a new plant, describe the process duty, gas composition, feed flow and required product output. State whether a capacity value refers to the incoming gas, circulating stream or liquid product. Include the reference conditions used for gas volume measurements.

These details allow the project participants to compare the same quantities.

For an existing facility, add its connection diagram, retained equipment and the boundary of the proposed replacement. Identify available space and relevant site utilities.

An existing technical specification is a useful starting point; further questions can then be tied to that document rather than to assumptions about a generic plant.

Specify the helium plant boundary

For a helium project, distinguish feed preparation, recycle refrigeration and the liquid product section. Identify each requested assembly by its drawing reference and its relationship to the cold box.

A valve, instrument or other integrated component should be described by the particular item reference used in the plant documentation.

For a new equipment request, include the available feed information and required production duty. State which storage and distribution equipment belongs within the requested scope.

The name of a liquefier identifies the general application, while an agreed equipment schedule defines the particular supply package and the interfaces that need to be considered.

Describe the hydrogen project

State the purpose of the hydrogen project and the intended production duty. Include the current technical specification, process diagram and available feed data. List equipment already present at the site separately from equipment to be considered for the new package.

This makes the intended project boundary visible at the start of the inquiry.

For a replacement assembly, provide its manufacturer designation, project number and drawing revision. Where several blocks have similar names, distinguish them using the process diagram references.

Operating requirements and approval of a proposed replacement belong to the responsible project team and the documentation governing the facility.

Separate the cold box from its components

A complete cold box and an internal component should be separate inquiry lines. An overall drawing, nozzle identifiers and dimensions help describe the enclosure. An integrated component needs its own equipment record, specification or assembly drawing reference.

A photograph of the outside identifies the enclosure but does not establish everything installed inside it.

Group multiple requested items by assembly and mark items that should be considered together. Attach the corresponding equipment schedule.

This allows the scope to be discussed before an order is placed and helps distinguish components with similar descriptions that serve different positions in the plant.

Define the purification duty

For purification equipment, supply the available feed composition and required outlet specification. Include the expected flow range and the impurities listed in the project documentation.

State concentration units and the test or reporting basis used by the project when describing the desired gas quality.

For an existing purifier, identify the apparatus, installed assembly and previously used item designation. If the request concerns process media or another consumable item, attach the relevant loading schedule or equipment specification.

A general description such as gas purifier provides an application, but the project references identify the actual item to be considered.

Describe recycling and distribution interfaces

For helium recovery, describe where returning gas is collected and whether its flow is continuous or intermittent. Attach the existing line diagram and mark the destination of the recovered stream.

List retained equipment separately so the proposed package can be considered against the actual boundary of the new section.

For distribution piping, supply the route layout, consumer connections, joint references and locations of separable sections as recorded in the project. Divide the inquiry into process equipment, piping sections and instruments where helpful.

A defined boundary makes it easier to discuss equipment responsibilities and the technical documents needed for acceptance.

Build a clear procurement schedule

Use a table with the document reference, item description, quantity, ordering unit and intended location. Link each line to its drawing or photograph. When one designation occurs in several units, show the quantity for each unit as well as the total.

This avoids ambiguity about whether the request concerns one position or several similar assemblies.

Mark required items and items for separate consideration. Include kit contents and the requested assembly level of packaged modules. The resulting schedule gives the quotation a clear technical basis and distinguishes a component replacement from equipment procurement for a new process installation.

Agree the package and documents

The inquiry is considered item by item against its references, quantities and technical attachments. Identify differences between drawing revisions and submit them to the responsible project contact.

Record scope changes in the same equipment schedule so that later discussions remain tied to the latest agreed description.

Define the documents needed for acceptance in the technical specification. The inquiry may identify drawings, a supply scope description and instructions relevant to the particular equipment.

Before ordering, compare the proposal with the agreed schedule, including accessories, packing units and the required language of the technical material. This review gives both sides the same list of items to discuss.

Send the technical request

Use a category button or the general inquiry form. Include a contact for a reply and identify the request as a new plant, a replacement assembly, a single component or a schedule of items.

Attach the material already available, and separate requests for different plants using their project references.

A first inquiry can begin with the equipment identification and a clear explanation of the requirement. Further technical questions can be added after the initial review.

Retain the submitted schedule so that subsequent clarifications refer to the same line numbers, quantities and drawing attachments throughout the quotation process.
