Identifying the Chinese Chart operation

Chart China brings together three operations with different product responsibilities. Chart Cryogenic Engineering Systems (Changzhou) Co., Ltd., abbreviated CCESC, covers tanks, ISO containers, vehicle fueling stations, marine fuel systems, vacuum insulated pipe, liquid cylinders and vaporizers.

Chart Cryogenic Distribution Equipment (Changzhou) Co., Ltd., or CCDEC, covers ORCA delivery systems and cryogenic trailers. Nanjing Xinye Electric Engineering Co., Ltd. specializes in electrical equipment and controls.

Include the legal manufacturer shown on the nameplate as well as the system name in your inquiry. This helps identify the relevant documentation and distinguish a Chinese configuration from equipment built elsewhere in the group.

If the marking is incomplete, attach an overall equipment photograph and the available component labels.

A Chart Industries reference alone does not identify the factory or installed configuration. We first compare the manufacturer, model and serial number, then relate the requested component to its position in the assembly.

Keep a separate record for each unit when an inquiry covers several installations.

Information for a replacement component inquiry

Start with a clear equipment nameplate photograph and the complete marking on the component being replaced. Preserve letters, numbers, separators and suffixes when transcribing the reference. State the quantity and the number of machines or vessels involved.

If a parts drawing is available, mark the required item and attach its corresponding list.

For valves, provide the documented process medium, pressure requirements and connection information. For an instrument, add its own label and the available electrical diagram. A photograph of the surrounding cabinet or pipework helps show where the item belongs.

Tell us about modifications made since installation and use the latest available documentation.

An inquiry without a known part number can begin with photographs and a drawing position. The first comparison establishes which details can be identified and which questions need an answer from the customer technical team.

The agreed reference is then carried into the order specification and receiving checklist.

Preparing an equipment project specification

Describe the complete project objective before choosing individual items. State whether the requirement is a new storage system, an extension, a replacement vessel or mobile distribution equipment.

Include the process gas, required capacity, documented pressure requirements and expected consumption pattern. For storage and regasification, distinguish ordinary demand from peak demand. For transport, explain the route and loading and receiving locations.

List the intended supply scope separately. A tank, vaporizer, transfer line and control system may be considered together, but each needs a clear interface and responsibility boundary. Attach an available site plan, equipment list and connection diagram.

Installation, civil works and commissioning should have their own entries in the project specification.

Identify the customer technical contact and the document used to approve revisions. A dated specification makes it possible to compare proposals against the same assumptions.

When requirements change, update the affected equipment item so that configurations from different project revisions are not mixed in one quotation.

Interfaces with existing equipment

A replacement component must be compared with the surrounding equipment as well as its stated function. Attach connection dimensions, photographs of mating parts and information about the available installation space.

Identify which components remain in service and which are included in the requested scope. Highlight connections changed after the original installation.

For instruments and controls, provide the documented power supply, signal type and connected system reference. For pipework, include a route diagram and the connection points. For transport equipment, define the boundary between the chassis, vessel and process equipment.

These details support configuration matching; they do not establish operating settings from a photograph.

Installation, protective settings and startup follow the project and the instructions for the actual equipment. A supply inquiry should state the applicable requirements and the person responsible for technical approval.

For a complete system, retain the interface list as a separate attachment and check it together with the equipment specification.

Organizing a maintenance parts list

Group the parts list by equipment unit and retain the serial number relationship for every item. Each row should include the reference, quantity, marking photograph and relevant drawing or documentation entry. Where the same item is requested for several vessels, list the actual configurations.

Similar appearance does not establish interchangeability.

State the planned outage date and preferred delivery sequence. For critical items, identify the minimum set required before work can begin. If the item belongs to a larger assembly, explain whether the complete assembly or a separate element is requested.

The responsible technical party approves a replacement based on the applicable documentation.

Keep the original row numbering when answering clarification questions. This links the inquiry, proposal and final order. Name attachments by item number and document type.

Several equipment units can be handled in one inquiry when the records remain separate and the same photograph or marking cannot be mistaken for a different unit.

Checking the proposed configuration

Compare every proposal item with the original requirement. Check the reference, configuration, quantity and assembly scope. If the description changed during clarification, retain its relationship to the initial item number. Record agreed deviations and the documents supporting them.

This gives both the technical team and purchasing team a common specification.

For an equipment package, compare the supply boundaries. Tanks, valves, instruments, pipework and controls should be listed clearly enough to show what the calculation covers. State the information needed for packing and transport planning.

Document requirements belong in the project specification, with the final set agreed for the actual order.

Before confirming the request, check that the calculation follows the current project revision. Changes to quantity, destination or interfaces may require another configuration check.

The agreed specification should remain understandable when passed between departments and allow each received item to be compared with the ordered configuration.

Receiving records and future repeat orders

Before dispatch, agree the item list and how each item is identified on the packing list. Receiving staff compare package quantities, markings and visible condition with the transport documents. Record damage and discrepancies through the customer receiving procedure.

Photographs of labels help connect the received component with the corresponding order line.

Retain the equipment documentation, drawings and agreed specifications for the responsible technical team. Keep configuration changes with that record. Work on an existing installation follows the manufacturer instructions and the approved site procedure.

Selecting and supplying a component does not replace project engineering, protective system verification or commissioning.

For a repeat inquiry, reference the previously approved specification and state whether the installed equipment has changed. Identify a change limited to quantity or scheduling explicitly. A change of configuration requires another technical comparison.

This keeps purchasing information useful for the next maintenance activity without reconstructing the original inquiry from disconnected photographs.
