BLOCK power components for industrial projects
Select BLOCK transformers, power supplies, electronic circuit protection, reactors and filters for control cabinets and drive systems using your electrical and mechanical requirements.
TIM isolating transformers
Select a transformer by supply voltage, secondary windings and rated power. The TIM 60 example describes one exact version. Send the complete index and wiring diagram when requesting a different series.
- TIM 60: rated power 60 VA
- Input 230 V, output 2 x 115 V
- Single-phase, frequency 50–60 Hz
- Selection: wiring, load and mounting
VC and RKD compact transformers
Board replacement requires the secondary voltage, lead arrangement and available space. VC and toroidal RKD units have different construction and winding arrangements. Keep the full designation in the specification.
- VC 3,2/1/6: 3.2 VA, 230 V input, 6 V output
- RKD 15/2x6: 15 VA, input 2 x 115 V
- RKD 15/2x6: output 2 x 6 V
- Selection: board photos, leads and height
Power Compact switched-mode supplies
Specify a power supply using the connected load and wiring requirements. PC-0124-200-0 is a single-phase version with a 24 V DC / 20 A output. Check other suffixes against their own documentation.
- PC-0124-200-0: PC 1AC series
- Rated input 100–240 V AC
- Rated output 24 V DC, 20 A
- Selection: load, signalling and installation
EasyB protection and DC backup
EasyB protects individual control circuits. A UPS maintains the supply during an input power interruption. Define protection channels, connected loads and required buffering time as separate project requirements.
- EasyB: modular protection of control circuits
- Check channel and tripping options by index
- UPS: capacitive and battery solutions
- Selection: channel currents and buffering time
Line and motor reactors
A line reactor belongs on the supply side. A motor reactor operates between the inverter and motor. Verify circuit position, current and electrical parameters before comparing the mechanical installation.
- Line reactor families: LR3, LR3-A and NKE
- Motor reactor families: MDB and MR3
- For LR3, compare current, inductance and uk
- Selection: circuit and inverter data
Harmonic filters and EMI filters
Harmonic filtering and high-frequency interference suppression address different problems. Specify the network, load and circuit arrangement. EMI filter selection also requires earthing details and an allowable leakage-current limit.
- HF1P 0,59-230: single-phase harmonic filter
- HF1P 0,59-230: 230 V, 2.5 A, 50 Hz
- EMI filters: high-frequency suppression
- Selection: phases, network and earthing
Identify the installed BLOCK unit
Take a straight photo of the nameplate showing the complete designation and electrical ratings. Add separate views of the terminals, mounting surface and surrounding cabinet. Copy every suffix, slash and hyphen into the enquiry and state the required quantity.
If part of the marking is unreadable, include a circuit extract with the component reference. Keep the whole photo so that a useful terminal marking is not cropped away. For several different items, link each photograph to a separate line in your component list.
Define the replacement requirement
State whether you need the same article again or a different configuration for a modified circuit. A repeat order starts with the complete index and a photograph. A design change also needs an explanation of the new load, available supply, cooling conditions or cabinet space.
Matching one voltage is only an initial selection step. Record connection and installation requirements as well. Any proposed differences belong in the project specification so that the engineer responsible for the machine can review them before the component is ordered.
Specify transformer windings and installation
Provide the supply voltage, phase count, frequency and required transformer rating. Describe secondary windings separately and retain terminal references from the circuit diagram. The 2 x 115 V output stated for TIM 60 identifies that version's winding arrangement.
Your equipment drawing is needed to check its intended connection. Include the load circuit, existing protection and available mounting space. When a machine supports more than one supply configuration, identify the configuration actually required at the destination.
This keeps electrical selection tied to the project rather than to a similar external appearance.
Describe the DC power-supply load
List the consumers connected to each source, their rated voltage and operating current. Mark loads that start together and any transient requirements stated by the system designer. Include the existing power-supply designation and a terminal list, including status signalling where used.
PC-0124-200-0 is the documented 24 V DC / 20 A example. For a new cabinet, also provide the input supply, available width, cooling arrangement and cable access. If the project uses several supplies, identify the circuits assigned to each one and the circuits that need backup power.
Separate circuit protection from backup
Prepare an outgoing-circuit list for EasyB with operating currents, load functions and the signals used by the control system. For replacement work, include the module index and adjacent components.
Specify UPS requirements separately by listing the loads that must keep operating and their required buffering time. Identify any installed battery or capacitor module. This allows the protection channels and energy-storage arrangement to be reviewed as distinct functions.
The selected combination can then be checked against the relevant module documentation and the system designer's requirements before the final bill of materials is agreed.
Locate reactors and filters in the circuit
Show the component's position and connection direction on the power diagram. Line reactor enquiries need supply and inverter-input information. Motor reactor enquiries need inverter and motor data. Include the installed designation, current, inductance and mounting dimensions when replacing a unit.
For filters, describe whether the task concerns supply harmonics or high-frequency interference. EMI selection also needs earthing details and a leakage-current limit.
Where the project includes measurement reports or EMC requirements, attach the relevant pages with the operating conditions under which the observations were recorded.
Check a transformer fitted to a board
For a VC transformer, provide readable marking and photographs of both sides of the board. State the secondary-circuit requirements, lead spacing, height limit and clearance to nearby components.
A dimensioned sketch prepared by the responsible technician is useful when board drawings are unavailable. For a toroidal RKD unit, show mounting and winding leads separately. Compare the marking with the machine documentation before selecting a visually similar item.
The enquiry should describe the actual board and component so that ratings from several similar catalogue entries are not combined into one specification.
Prepare a control-cabinet bill of materials
For a new cabinet, send the component schedule together with the circuit diagram. State function, electrical ratings, quantity and mechanical limits for each line. Distinguish fixed article numbers from positions that need selection.
Identify the DC supplies, protected circuits, backup loads and power-quality components in the drawing. Keep each item connected to its circuit reference in the project list. When several identical cabinets are required, separate the quantity per cabinet from the number of complete sets.
Include spare positions and any requested grouping of components for shipment.
Agree the quotation specification
Use the enquiry form to send the required articles, quantities and supporting photos. Include a technical brief for a new project or details of the removed unit for replacement work. Review complete designations, electrical ratings, scope and supporting documents in the proposed specification.
Differences from the request should be identified as separate items for engineering review before ordering. If a parameter is missing, the next step is a focused request for that value or drawing.
When supplementing a list, refer to its line numbers so that revisions remain connected to the correct component.
Plan delivery and receipt checks
State the destination, intended shipment grouping and whether the project needs one complete set or several deliveries. At receipt, compare product markings and quantities with the agreed specification.
Inspect visible condition of housings, leads, terminals and packaging, and check the agreed documentation. Keep clear nameplate photos with the machine records for future replacement enquiries.
Installation and connection checks should be performed by the responsible qualified specialist using the equipment and component documentation. If a discrepancy is found, identify the list position and provide an overall view, a marking close-up and a specific description.
