Describe the monitoring system

NEXCOM IDS is the NEXCOM International business covering video recording platforms and network cameras. Start selection with a site plan showing the monitored areas, camera count in each area, operator workstation and archive location.

Mark cameras for general observation, entrances, checkout areas and individual process stations separately.

Separate cameras, NVR hardware, the network, storage and software in the component list. Give each item a quantity and purpose: a new installation, expansion, failed device replacement or maintenance spare. Include a connection drawing and photographs of the existing cabinet.

Describe multi-screen viewing and remote access as separate operator activities.

Video streams and NVR workload

The camera count is a starting point, while resolution, frame rate, codec and bitrate together determine the recording workload. State the main recording stream and the additional viewing stream where they are configured separately.

Record the operating mode for each camera group: continuous recording, a schedule or event-based capture.

Identify concurrent activities, including recording, archive playback, clip export, multi-window viewing and analytics. For an expansion, state the present workload and planned increase separately. The network drawing should show the path from cameras to the NVR and from the NVR to the operator.

Storage and video retention

Size an archive using camera bitrates, recording duration and the required retention period. Provide these values for each stream and the measured proportion of event recording if the installation uses that mode.

State whether video is stored inside the NVR, on external storage or in more than one location. Include the space required for exported clips and the intended archive operation while drives are being serviced.

Distinguish drive positions, installed drive capacity and usable archive capacity in the specification. NViS 6712 has twelve 3.5″ HDD positions and two NVMe SSD positions. NVAiS 1502 has two 3.5″ HDD positions with RAID 0/1 and two NVMe SSD positions. These details belong to the individual models.

For a replacement drive, supply its marking, system role, array condition and the planned process for restoring recording after maintenance.

AI NVR and the software configuration

For video analytics, describe the expected outcome: event detection, archive search, object counting or another defined application. State whether analysis runs in the camera, on the NVR or on a separate computer. Include the software name, version and enabled function list.

Examples from the actual scene help frame the task alongside the stream count, because object size, lighting and movement affect how the application is configured and evaluated.

NVAiS 1502 uses Intel Core Ultra Series 2, while the NViS 6712 page lists Intel Core Series 2. Assess the processor and available hardware resources for each model separately. An NVAiS 8108 enquiry also needs its own configuration rather than specifications copied from NVAiS 1502.

Itemise the hardware platform, memory, drives, operating system and software positions in the proposal.

Select cameras for the installation

Camera selection begins with the scene and the image required from it. For general observation, provide a site plan. For a specific operation, give the distance and size of the object being monitored. Describe day and night lighting, glare, movement, vibration and the installation environment.

A photograph from the mounting point should be accompanied by the intended field of view and the planned cable route to make the physical arrangement clear.

The IDS catalogue covers several camera types, including multi-sensor, PTZ, dome, box, vehicle and number plate applications. For an NCp, NCs, NCm, NCi/NCo or NCr enquiry, provide the complete designation as the family name starts the selection process.

Record mounting, lens, connector, power and network interface separately.

Number plate applications with NCb-371

For LPR/ANPR, provide the lane count, lane width, capture distance and camera position relative to vehicle movement. Include examples from day and night operation if a system is already installed.

Describe the operator task separately: recording an entrance, searching for a plate in the archive or transferring an event to another software application. That description connects camera selection to the recording software and the equipment position at the site.

The NCb-371 page lists 3 MP at 30 fps, a global shutter and an operating range of −10…50 °C. The CS/P-Iris lens is optional and therefore receives a separate line in the configuration. Record the required field of view, mounting height and existing bracket when preparing the enquiry.

Include the present lens designation when replacing a camera in a working system.

Replace an installed NVR or component

For maintenance, provide the complete NVR designation, hardware revision and photographs of its marking. List the installed processor configuration, memory, drives, interface cards, operating system version and recording application. Add a rear-panel photograph showing the occupied connectors.

State whether the enquiry concerns a complete device, an individual component or a set of items for transferring the existing configuration to replacement hardware.

A fault description identifies the required work: the system may fail to start, lose particular cameras, stop recording or need a larger archive. Keep diagnostic messages and a description of when the fault occurs.

Before maintenance, prepare configuration exports, licence information and a plan for handling the current archive. After installation, compare the ports, recording settings and operator access with the original list.

This checks restoration of the monitoring task as well as the basic startup of the replacement device.

Specify and accept the equipment set

Prepare a table giving the model, quantity, purpose and contents of each supplied item. List memory, drives and expansion hardware for the NVR; list the lens, mount and connection for each camera. Keep the original designation beside the agreed replacement position.

Where equipment serves multiple locations, add a site reference to every order line. This supports packing, installation and a clear check of the equipment received.

Check markings and the delivered component set against the agreed table. Plan the functional check around everyday operator actions: live viewing, recording, playback, clip export and access from the required workstation.

Prepare agreed scenes for AI functions and a retention and search check for the archive. Record results for each device and application separately. One document pack containing the camera plan, photographs and required item list provides a useful starting point for a structured equipment enquiry.

Availability, price, lead time, documentation and compatibility are confirmed for each enquiry. Official dealership and authorised service are not claimed.

Software licences, cameras and components follow the agreed specification; internal spare part designations are verified for the particular system.
