- Describe the installation and power supply
Define the computer’s role in the machine
Describe what the computer does: runs an operator interface, collects data, exchanges signals with a controller or executes a control application. Attach a machine diagram showing the computer and connected devices, including equipment that will remain in service.
For repair, record the observed fault and when it appears. Keep information about the affected assembly separate from the functions that still operate. This gives the purchasing list a clear target: a complete computer, a board or a communication module.
Keep the full designation and hardware revision
Photograph the system label, serial number and configuration stickers. For a board, include the PCB marking and revision. Attach an earlier purchase code with its date and a photograph of the item currently installed in the machine.
For older installations, the NISE 3600 documentation distinguishes NISE3600E with one PCIe x4, NISE3600E2 with two PCIe x4, NISE3600P2 with two PCI and NISE3600P2E with PCI plus PCIe x4. Record the suffix and installed expansion boards.
Compare field interfaces and signal connections
Prepare a connection table covering the computer port, connected device, cable and protocol. For COM, state the electrical interface and pinout. For Ethernet, explain the purpose of the link. Mark ports that are present but currently unused.
NIFE and communication module projects need the physical interface and software connection described. Include driver details, the controller exchange diagram and any additional board designation. This makes the proposed configuration traceable to the operating application and installed connection.
Describe discrete I/O as a signal list with its purpose and electrical conditions. Show cable routing, external supply and terminals. Each signal should correspond to an identified channel and device, allowing the procurement list to follow the real wiring.
Select a board with its chassis and backplane
For a PEAK or NEX replacement, describe the enclosure, NBP backplane and installed peripherals. Overall photographs show slot positions and adjacent boards. Connector and label details help relate each proposed component to the documentation of the existing machine.
For EBC and ICES, include the carrier board, enclosure and attached modules. Divide a complete order into board, memory, storage and cable items. A defined scope supports quotation comparison and gives receiving staff the same list for checking the delivery.
Plan the software environment transfer
Record the operating system, edition and boot arrangement. Include main application, driver and HMI versions. Keep disk images, installers and licensing documents under normal site procedures; the purchasing request should identify which materials exist and who maintains them.
For HiveX, IoT Studio or NexUA, describe functions in use and exchange with other systems. The computer choice follows the application requirements. Define hardware supply, software installation and transfer of the existing project as separate parts of the work.
If operation depends on an additional board, hardware key or network address, include it in the specification. Prepare a settings list and restoration sequence. State which team will run the application locally and carry out the checks after equipment arrival.
Connect HMI selection to mounting and the project
For APPC/APPD, IPPC and HMI, provide panel cut-out dimensions, thickness and mounting arrangement. Photograph the front and installation side. Include screen position, connector access and cable space so the proposed unit follows the actual workstation layout.
Show operating screens and describe the operator’s tasks: viewing status, entering recipes, acknowledging events or controlling a mechanism. This function list defines the visualisation scope. Identify the connected controller and communication path used between devices during normal operation.
For an installed panel change, retain the source project, development environment versions and application resources. Describe touch input, external peripherals and other input methods. Split the order into complete panel, mounting items and the work required to start the project.
Describe power, temperature and installation space
Include supply voltage, power source designation, connector type and connection diagram. Show earthing and the cabinet location. Identify external consumers if the computing assembly supplies them, and relate each consumer to its connection in the equipment list.
Describe temperature near the computer during operation, nearby heat sources, dust and airflow. For a fanless enclosure, include mounting location and clearance. The −10 to 60 °C range shown for NISE 53 belongs to that specific product model.
For a computer mounted on a vibrating machine or in a confined space, provide bracket photographs and available dimensions. Record enclosure orientation and cable exit direction. These details support selection of a complete replacement and its installation accessories.
Map data acquisition and industrial connectivity
For nDAS 6000, nPAC 2000, CPS and nHMI, list data sources. Describe signal type, update frequency and where the value originates. Include storage period and the person or application using the measurement so selection follows the actual information requirement.
Show the path from sensor or controller to application and storage. Explain operation during a temporary connection loss and after reconnection. Distinguish current values, events and historical records, since each stream may have a different operational purpose within the project.
For an industrial wireless project, attach the layout and positions of IWF or ELA/NIO devices. Identify existing segments, distances, obstructions and external connections. Include connectivity equipment, mounting and network management as separate items with defined responsibilities.
Define the motion control configuration
For RCB, AIR I200 or SRB, describe the mechanism and control architecture. List axes, drives, controllers and peripherals by complete designation. Show commands, feedback and connections between assemblies, keeping each proposed item tied to its role in the machine.
Preserve settings and describe the working cycle. State the purpose and interface of each axis and the application runtime. Discuss the replacement platform alongside components that remain installed so the purchasing scope reflects the complete control system configuration.
Prepare the order and incoming inspection
Collect the complete code, quantity, purpose, labels and installation photographs into one enquiry. For a project, add system diagram, software environment and supply scope. Give different machines or revisions separate entries and mark the source of each designation.
Distinguish a complete computer from a separate board and state memory and storage configuration. Identify parts transferred from existing equipment. Use the agreed list for quotation and receiving so the proposed and delivered scope can be compared directly.
Availability, price, lead time, documents and compatibility are confirmed for the specific enquiry. Official dealership and authorised service are not claimed. Internal parts and software version support are checked for the selected model; a shared series name does not establish interchangeability.
